David and Adam, what a twisted pair!

Incredibly hard to rate this book, as in hindsight the bits I didn't like about it was the particular types of kink themes it featured. Since was a dark erotic romance, there was a lot of said kink.

4+ stars for the writing, characterizations, plot details. As for my enjoyment... let's just say I enjoyed the beginning instalments as well as the last few ones. The way the main characters first met was unforgettably good. However, the middle section themes of the book acted as a complete turnoff for me. But that was due to my personal taste, not something which was the fault of the writing.

There was only consensual intimacy on-page in this book, but I still think of it as dark. Some of that added darkness was from the fantasies the characters had although never acted out on page. It shook me to a degree, to encounter someone who enjoys being mean, controlling and inflict pain to the levels Adam does. But I think he was well rounded out by being both caring, sweet and act like a besotted fool in some circumstances.

Glad I read it, if I ever read it again I will make sure to stick to the parts I enjoyed!

I couldn't help but feel a little bad for David in this one. (He just wants to be good for Adam and make him happy.) I like the books in this series better when the guys are together. We'll see if Adam can put David through his paces in Part 7.

DJ Heart's big anthology of kink, somewhat connected to the world of The Billionaire's Puppy. This has all sort of kink, not all of which I cared for, but overall it was well written. I'm making a kink list that I imagine is much more in-depth than you'll get from the book itself.

Fairly erotic bdsm pwp with a thinly used arranged marriage. Not really laid out in any safe/sane type of universe. Adam brings David into the D/s and very kinky world very quickly - actually within an hour or so of meeting him. Although David likes it, it feels like Adam is more of a bully at points. There is no affection or soft feelings from Adam but David has no idea how to work though this new universe without attaching to Adam.

These are short stories that are worth it on KU but would not be worth 2.99 each without it to me. When/if all these episodes get pulled into a book it might be a good time to jump in. However, the author was releasing these episodes (five, so far) quickly in the summer but abruptly stopped back in Sept so I don't know when we will get a chance to get back to Adam and David in the future.

One good, classic BDSM slow burn romance. Adam meets David, his fiancé to be for the sake of a company merging. David's a brat. Adam is set to correct it. Sparks ignite and spanking ensues.
I loved it. I loved the sex scenes, the way BDSM was handled, the tenderness and love that slowly emerges between our protagonists. The scenes ranged from almost-vanilla and gentle aftercare to passing-out-from-overstimulation and pony-sucking-cum-out-of-a-bottle.
Would recommend to any BDSM fan.

Awww, Adam and David. DJ Heart sure knows how to make smoking hot chemistry between two guys.

I really enjoyed this series - it's been a long road, but watching Adam and David build their relationship, explore each other's kinks, and truly fall in love is artfully done. Every time I read a series by DJ Heart I'm impressed by his ability to build a solid and believable bond in and around all the naughty sex.

If you like your gay smut kinky, scorching hot, and with aftercare and romance; this is it!!! This is definitely my favorite book I've read by D.J. Heart; and I've read 4 (or 5? let's say 4.5). I would recommend starting this one after you've finished The Billionaire's Puppy - The Complete Collection, since several characters from that book make an appearance here.

I’m not going to rate this book because I have no basis of comparison really.

There were parts I really didn’t like, parts I did, and the editing was really sloppy (like misspelled words, shifting tenses mid-sentence, putting the wrong name a few times…) and stuff. I wish the author had spent more time letting us get to know them, but I don’t know if that’s par for the course with intense dark romances.

One thing is for sure, I need to read more to get a better understanding of this genre.

If you love kink, you will love this book! I will not restate the blurb, suffice it to say, this book is smokin' hot! D/s in spades, steamy sex, clash of personalities, what's not to like.
Yes, arranged mating for power & children is still live an well in this day and age. Enter Davis, young, party hearty, rich brat. Adam, older, dominant, and up to the challenge David presents. Once they get started, the sex is ongoing, hot and heavy. Bring your personal fan. You'll need it to cool down.
This is the first in a series featuring David and Adam. So while there is a HFN, the story is left hanging. It really does make your mouth water for the next book. You are gonna love it!

Not at all as good as the first installment

The first episode in this serial was explosively good; this one was kind of meh. I felt like Adam suddenly was inexperienced in what he wanted as a dom and started exploring new ways to feed David’s humiliation kink. It felt like Adam was waffling between being a Daddy Dom and a Puppy Master, so he ended up trying both out with his hungover fiance.

Overall, Adam felt more like a bully in this one, than the forceful, sexy, dom from the first installment. David, at least, knew enough to insist on some kind of boundaries, and not to open the door to allowing Adam carte blanche.

Setting the scene for what's to come

I feel like we keep being promised the pony farm, but denied when it comes up. This book sets the scene - we know that Rex may make an appearance, and Aiden and Blake will take part, with Blake probably pushing things too far and getting in trouble for it. We'll have at least one scene with the studs. And through it all, David will love it even though it pushes his limits, while Adam will have to deal with him having feelings get in the way of his sadism.

I'll be satisfied if that is what we get, but I hope that there will be a few surprises along the way.

This was not my book. I'm not rating it because, objectively, it's not horrible (although the lack of editing could have made it so) it's just not enjoyable to me. It felt very ... violent, and possibly hateful toward the one MC, but I haven't read enough nor do I know enough about this type of kink or maybe this level of kink to know if it's representative or not. I just know I didn't like it, and I didn't feel any connection between them so that didn't help either.

Abuse written as BDSM.

This author is awful. They use BDSM to write abuse novel. At least when you read a book like Neko or The Flesh Cartel the victims don't want to be there, at least at the beginning. They might be brain washed into believing they want it, eventually. But, seriously Sam and David read as much as victims as the slaves in other books, except they never get away from their abusers. I always end these books wishing that someone would save the victims. Awful.

This book is dangerous

I worry about David because the way they are going Adam will end up killing him. David kept trying to satisfy Adam and in consequence he sunk deeper and deeper, like so many women have done. I can’t recommend this book to anyone.
