Surprising Mrs Rhubarbson
Roxy Rhubarbson is feeling sad for her mum. Mrs Rhubarbson takes care of the Old Tree Home animals all by herself. It's her birthday today. How can Roxy and her friends Marble Mangosteen and Shooz Starfruiter help plan a surprise for her mum? How can they show her she's special too?
This is the first book in the Marble Mangosteen's Good Deed Collection series. The series aims to inspire and instil good values in each book. For this book, some of the themes and values are as follows: teamwork, not taking others for granted, spending time with the elderly, caring for Mum, friendship, kindness and sharing (among others).

A fun sweet story with great messages
This beautifully illustrated book checks off all the boxes you need in a wonderful children's book. Great art, awesome story, quirky character names, and important messages that teaches children kindness, teamwork, and doing something nice for other people. A wonderful addition for any educator of young readers. It even comes with a diary entry where a child can write his/ her good deeds, discussion points, and a noun glossary at the end of the book. Definitely adds more value to this already great and entertaining book.

Being a good friend and helping a friend out to surprise their mom
I love the story and how it told of friends who work together just surprised one of their other friends mom for her birthday because she worked so hard and would not have time her to celebrate. The friends work together to bake a cake and decorate with leftover supplies and surprised her at her work. The illustrations for fun and Interactive and free activities in the back were made for children to think a little more.

Story Teaches Kindness and Giving
Children will love the baking and party aspect of this story. Being kind and sharing joy at the senior home is something our young generation could learn from. The author provides nice bonus pages at the end for discussion points and fun worksheets.

Nice story for the very young children. There is a ton of characters with funky names, there's cake and baking, there's friendship and teamwork and there's birthday party for the main character's mum.
The story is told in the first person, there is a diary page at the end, lots of questions to check comprehension and there are also the answers. Teachers will like this book as will the mums.

great bilingual teaching resource!
I bought the English version of this book and would like to try the Chinese version for my 6 year old to learn Chinese since he likes the story! It's a heartwarming story of friends supporting one another and celebrating birthdays. Loved to see that he tried to retell the story in Chinese!

A fun book about kindness
This is a fun story that teaches many values like kindness, teamwork, and gratitude. I especially enjoyed the creative names in this book. My kids would love to visit a nursing home and throw a party now. What a fun and thoughtful idea! There are even activities in the back.

This adorable children's book has wonderful messages about the beauty of kindness. Young readers will enjoy following along with the sweet characters as they decide to make a birthday cake for Mrs. Rhubarbson's birthday. Great kid book
My granddaughter loved this story. She had to sing Happy Birthday. She was excited that they made brownies! It was a good picture story for her.

Be a well-wisher!
This story was an enjoyable read! The illustrations are cute and compliment the story nicely. The message highlights the importance of how impactful small acts of kindness can be. There is always something we could do to brighten someone’s day. Not just adults, but children too! We especially enjoyed the memorable names of each character and the supplementary info at the back of the book. Kudos to the author!

This is a cute book about animals coming together to help make a birthday special. It was special even with a brownie. I loved the picture of the tree with different houses in it. More great stuff at the end of the book.
