Most of what I love is still in this book, but this is so far afield from what was so good about the last volume that it’s a bit of a bummer. The problem is one of trying to have your cake and eat it too, where the ending of the school festival is being padded out with a series of ‘what-if’ chapters for every potential romantic outcome.
I know the same thing is planned for We Never Learn and, honestly, in that series it makes sense since things are still relatively goofy. Here, the harem antics had really mellowed in favor of some honest character growth and strong storytelling mixed in with the other, more typical, aspects of the series and I felt that a definitive ending based on the revelations in the previous volume would have been a far smarter choice.
It’s not a dealbreaker - the funny parts are still funny and everybody’s interactions are still an enjoyable read, but I have my suspicions that rather than an ending that would make this a classic, we’re going to get something that attempts to please everybody and consequently pleases nobody.
Approaching the end of the series, the manga is now lazily dragging its feet to keep the mystery going just a little longer. Even though I'm fairly certain we all know by now which twin is endgame. Not just because she's the best but because the last few volumes have telegraphed it so hard in spite of insisting that the bride could be anybody.
I don't appreciate the way the pacing has come to a crawl to unnecessarily fill out more pages. This entire volume could be condensed down to a couple pages without losing anything. The sisters and Futaro arrange and attend a school festival aaaand that's about it.
I can at least note that Ichika in this volume attempts to fix her earlier character assassination. I still don't like her but am nice enough to acknowledge she is trying to be better.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Futaro has been kissed without consent at least three times now? The sisters just do whatever they want without asking his opinion and both he and the readers are expected to like it. It's not a big deal within the full context, but it is still nonconsensual and I want to point it out.
This volume was good, but not better than volume 11 in my opinion. The school festival has come and of course drama is everywhere. This part of the story has a lot of jumping around during the time of the festival, it got a little confusing as times, but I could've been overthinking things. I really like the depth and different viewpoints Haruba keeps throwing into the story, I'm so intrigued as to what happens next and am now knowing there's multiple parts to each event in this harem. I appreciated the return of a character from Futaro's past to kinda spice things up further. Overall, with two volumes left, I'm just hoping everyone can still be close after schools over and confessions are finished. I used to have my favorites, but now, every characters is special to me.
Another solid volume! I don't have a lot to say specifically, partially due to spoilers and partially due to my limited thoughts on this volume, but what I can say is this cleared the air a bit regarding the quintuplets and their father. Can't say I'm totally cool with how it went down, but the end result was fine. I wish we could have had more build up to this moment, but whatevs. The festival is still going strong and as someone who is absolute trash for festivals, this is pretty good. I like seeing how each of the quintuplets and Futaro are using their time as well as seeing these three days in each of the quints' perspective. Yes, it can get a bit repetitive, but I still enjoy it.
THIS VOLUME HAS ME SCREAMING ONCE AGAIN! I will say the school festival is a little bit padded - definitely trying to fill the gaps, but I love having the POV of each of the girls so much that I don't mind at all! Again, as always, I love the characters so much and I think they are the life and soul of this type of series. Miku is still best girl but I wouldn't be mad if any of them one (except Ichika, she irks me a bit too much). The romance in this series is just so cute and I cannot wait to see where volume thirteen goes! Almost finished!!
CAWPILE: 8.00

LIES! Stupid cover! I knew with the wedding dresses it was a chance to see each of the Quints in their dress... but with Futaro holding out a wedding ring I figured we'd finally get some resolution. NOPE.
Instead we are treated to yet another mostly filler volume, fun, mind you, but filler. I suppose if I had looked up to see how many volumes long the series is ahead of time I might have known that, but what's the fun of knowing the ending before you get there?
Anyhow, it isn't awful, it wasn't tremendous. I think I'm just too anxious to see which of the sisters Futaro is going to choose. (And of course I've only got a 20% shot at being the one I hope for!)
Saya tak tega memberi 3 demi melihat artwork halus dan manis Haruba-sensei. Apalagi pada chapter 100 ^o^ Well, sejak awal saya memang tak begitu suka MC. Menarik melihat flashback tsb yg memberikan makna yg baik. Utk perkembangan si MC dalam memberikan keputusan... yah saya memang tak terlalu tertarik dengan poin tsb hhe. Tinggal 2 volume terakhir!!

Now two of the girls have stolen a kiss from Futaro! And it looks like daddy-dear knows something's afoot. Did he actually just... give his consent? Does dear ol' dad know who Futaro will choose? Hmmm... the end of the festival is nearly here, & the girls all want an answer. Oh, there's gonna be a lot of cryin eyes, no matter what happens! Art, fantastic. The girls are just stunningly gorgeous. Dialogue, so very heartfelt. Characters, believable, likeable, relatable, admirable, adorable.
Yotsuba has plans to make this the best school festival but her classmates keep fighting over petty things. The class is divided over whether to serve Takoyaki or Pancakes. So, they end up doing both. Futaro tells the quintuplets that he loves all of them. Ichika kisses Futaro and fireworks go off behind them. Nino makes pancake for her dad and he tells her they taste like her mothers.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So, we will find out who he chooses soon, obviously since there are only two volumes left, but Futaro has also said on the last day he'll pick... His childhood friend could have been built up to more and the jealousy was unnecessary. Other than that, it was ok. The character development is staying steady at least, so that saves it.
There is alot of back and forth in this volume between quints during the festival which is understandable given the circumstances. Although the classroom scene was a little anti-climatic and really just seemed to make the series longer from my current point of view, although that could all change once I read the next two volumes
It’s going to have taken me like year to get through this series purely because I don’t want it to be over. It resonates on some old bit of young me still in there, and is at its best showing all these interlocking imperfect relationships. Could have used more Yotsuba/Itsuki though. Love all the secrets too, and that reveal was bonkers and in character.
I want to give Yotsuba a really big hug because of what she’s feeling in this volume. I really liked watching everyone prepare for the school festival and i’m very curious about what else can happen before the festival’s over.
This one had some good moments but the story felt all over the place. As we approach the conclusion, it feels like more is being added as opposed to things being resolved. I am hopping that these story threads get tied in the remaining two volumes.
Negi Haruba is a great drawer. The paneling of this volume was very good. Here the story was nice, especially how he,finally, chose to develop Fuutarou’s relationship with each quintuplet individually.
Genuinely feels like all the steam has come out of the series. Like it’s been prolonged longer than necessary. This should have been short and sharp, instead it’s taking forever to end. Like I still don’t care who he picks, because I don’t think any of them are all that interesting.
Another peak volume. The first half of the volume was alright but the second half was the stuff. My man Futaro is getting kissed by all the sisters?? That’s what I’m talking about! I love how the author makes you like every one of the sisters.
Ehehehehe... Bapaknya Kembar Lima sering muncul di jilid ini. Sempet diliatin versi mudanya juga (bareng Bapaknya Futaro). Ehehehehe... saya senang. Daddyyyyy~~~ <333
