The Boy

Mitch knew he was a boy the first time he observed a submissive over a Dom’s knee getting his ass reddened. That was years ago and even though Mitch never found a Daddy of his own, he knew what he wanted. Or at least he thought he had. Now one man will change how Mitch looks at his life and what is truly important. Maybe Mitch
isn’t as lost as he’d thought.

The Daddy

The first time Byron laid eyes on Mitch he knew the older man was meant to be his boy. Fighting Mitch’s insecurities is an even bigger job than putting up with his father. When Mitch’s world starts to crumble around him, Byron is determined to show Mitch he’s strong enough to earn the title Daddy.

Lost Boy is the third book in the Daddy’s Boy series by Athena Steller.

This book contains MM sexual content (men having sex with each other), light BDSM elements, Age Play, Daddy/ boy relationship, age gap relations, voyeurism, public sex, light humiliation scene. This book is an exploration of a relationship between two (Male) consensual adults that are looking for love and acceptance. All characters are over the age of consent. No cheating or cliff hangers.

Each book in the Daddy’s boy series will concentrate on a new couple although the characters from other books will visit often. The books can be read as standalone novels but for better enjoyment watch how the characters grow from book to book adds to the enjoyment of the series.

Each book in the Daddy’s boy series ends with a HEA although we do get a peek into the earlier relationships as they progress as the series continues.

This was hard to read in more ways than one

*UPDATE* I'm dropping this review down to one star. I blamed the mistakes in this book on rewrites because there is a story here, it's just wasted. But after skimming the 2nd book again thinking maybe I'm the crazy one....I have no words. There really is no excuse for how terribly edited these books are. It's insulting to the reader at this point. I hate giving books one star because it almost feels like asking why did you even bother but...why? Why and how dare you think this book was worth anyone's time and money. Hopefully, after you read my review, you'll understand. And just so we're clear here reviews are for readers, NOT authors.

Let me just quickly say, I get it. Athena Stellar is a baby author. She's still figuring things out, and with time and practice, she'll get better. ...That being said, wake me up when she gets there because I don't want to go on this journey with her anymore.

Let's begin with the good stuff. Content-wise, it's all right. It's your basic daddy/ little story. Nothing wrong with that. Hell, it's why I picked it up. The smut gets a passing grade and the total power exchange was interesting. I can count on one hand the number of books I have read with a TPE that didn't forego consent. Here it is acknowledged and encouraged, love that... That's about all I can say because this book goes from kind of cringy but decent to flat-out weird in less than 40 pages.

Spoilers ahead because you deserve to know how wild this gets. Around the 30% mark, Mitch gets confronted by this hitman character (I know!). And apparently he's been stalking the guys throughout this whole series. What the actual f!ck. Now full disclosure, I read the author's note so I know that a lot of what Athena Stellar originally wrote got scrapped because she thought it was too heavy for right now. Here's the thing though, that did NOT work in her favor. And this guy doesn't go away. He has a full arc and everything. Maybe this rando hitman made sense in the original story but it is beyond weird here. Something an editor or a beta reader would have told her!

And let me quickly preach to the choir for a moment, this is why editors and beta readers and proofreaders exist. Don't have the money or connections, get someone you trust to proofread. It's the bare minimum required of you as a writer. Most of these mistakes I am convinced happened because of the rewrites (or because she used a really cheap dictation app). They're pretty elementary and would have been caught in the proofreading process. She didn't proofread this and you can't pay me to believe that anyone saw this before she unleashed it into the world. Am I being mean? For sure, but here's the hard truth; she hit publish! If she couldn't be bothered to go over or critique her own work, I am well within my right to read it to filth.

Back to your regularly scheduled program. This book is sterile AF. The characters are flat and the book feels robotic, like it's just going through the motions. This is heightened by the fact that she keeps constantly stating who's speaking and who's doing what. I get it's third person but the overuse of Mitch's name is insane. You almost understand how she keeps getting their names mixed up. Doesn't excuse but you know. The POV mix-ups don't help either. At the top of the section (because it's not always at the start of a chapter) it'll say whose POV is is, Mitch or Byron. Often, halfway through it'll switch without any warning. Add in the constant back and forth between past and present tense, and it all gets wonky real fast.

There's also a massive amount of telling but never showing. What did Mitch's father do that was so heinous? How did Byron help his friends? Why is there a hitman!? Who knows. This is going to sound really harsh but it needs to be said. It's your book. Stop being cryptic and make something up. Because THIS is honestly coming off as lazy and uncreative.

I could go on but you get my point and I'm reaching my character limit. I love daddy/ little stories. I am the audience for this book and I am saying this book is not good. There are so many grammar mistakes, plot holes, random exclamation points (seriously is everyone shouting in this book?), and basic errors that shouldn't happen by your third book. I was nice in my previous reviews but maybe nice isn't what this author needs. There is a good story here and it is wasted. Put in the effort, get an editor, and for God's sake hire a proofreader so we at least know who's talking. One stars because it was literally hard to read.

Every boy and every Daddy in this series is unique. And the relationships are also different from the others, so you can't really draw a good comparison between the books. I was very curious about Mitch, having met him in the previous books really whetted my appetite. So it's sad that his story was the one that excited me the least. 🥺
It's a good book, I don't want to say that the book wasn't worth reading. I just expected so much more, unfortunately.
Mitch's family background offers so much potential and also his vulnerability in the fact that he is totally exhausted by his job. So much potential for Daddy Byron to help him and taking care.

It was getting harder and harder to mentally make the transition between being the grown-up he was and the little boy he wanted to be. 🥺

All of this is there in any case, but unfortunately very briefly.
The story is also relatively short on age-play scenes. Mitch is more middle than little, which isn't addressed much, I think, and I would have liked more.
And then the story focuses more on the sexual moments. Also okay, we get some nice kinky scenes to watch.
Overall, it's just not coherent for me.

“Such a dirty boy.” Byron pulled his fingers free. “But your dirty boy?” Mitch asked quietly. “My gorgeous, wonderful, dirty boy,” Byron confirmed. 😋

And then there's the side character Mac. Now I'm curious to find out more about him, which was probably the point of this book.

This book started out as my favorite kind of daddy kink book. With a sweet but strict daddy, taking care of his overworked exhausted boy. And I really loved this dynamic between Byron and Mitch.

But then suddenly everything changed and I was not expecting things to become like this between them.

Byron thought it would be a good idea to have a contract between them so that Mitch would feel more secure in their relationship. So far so good. But as soon as they both signed it Byron went all BDSM Dom on Mitch’s ass. And I can love a good dominating daddy bedroom scene, here I was absolutely floored since I hadn’t seen that coming at all.

Apparently these guys had a massive exhibitionism kink. So there was rough sex against windows, there was public sex in BDSM clubs.

My issue with this is that I just hadn’t expected things to turn out like this between them. I was all for the first part where Byron was all sweet and Mitch was just so lost. I loved how tender and caring things were between them. The rough public sex just didn’t fit these guys at all. Or at least that is what I was feeling when I was reading this. And I have loved lots of rough sex scenes in other books. Just not here.

It had lots of potential, I just didn’t like where things went between these guys.

So sweet! I might like this the best of the series so far. Mitch needs to get out of his own way and Byron is the perfect Daddy to help him. I loved the times when Mitch fell into subspace, giving up every ounce of stress. Byron is absolutely the best kind of possessive Daddy!

First of I think you need to read the first and second book in the series to fully enjoy this book. Even if they are not the main characters in the first two ones, there is a lot of situations that lead up to this story and of course we get to know the characters quite a lot in the other two books.
As for this book I once again loved it. I was looking forward to read about Mitch an Byron finally getting their hea and I was not disappointed.
Throughout the former books we get said that Mitch is different then other boys and has special needs so I was already curious to what those will be.
It wasn’t what I expected but it made kind of sense. Basically for Mitch it’s all about giving up full control. Byron and Mitch worked well together and I loved s lot that Byron showed him that it is not bad to have certain kinks, there will always be others who enjoy it as well.
Then there is the story with Mitchs father which I liked too and again I loved how Byron let Mitch handle most of the situations on his own and just stayed beside him to lend him strength. I think that was super important for Mitch.
The whole situation with Mac was kind of weird. I am still not sure if I like this dude. I am however going to read his book too.
So overall I really loved this, though this is definitely different and probably not for everyone because of all the kinks Mitch and Byron have.

Love..:)

I hate to say it but I’m afraid I have to. This lovely author needs a better editer or proof reader or something. So many mistakes I just kept waiting for the next one! I would have given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for that. If ‘too instead of to’ or ‘Mitch instead of Byron’ doesn’t bother you then you’ll love this book!! I absolutely loved it but so many little mistakes kind of ruined it for me. I definitely would still recommend!

I really liked this. It was just as good as the previous two books! My only complaint is that it definitely needs another round of editing. There were missing/incorrect words in a couple of places and a few sentences that just didn't make sense. I loved the characters and the story though!

4 stars. I was excited about this book since we were introduced to these characters. I like both Mitch and Byron and their dynamics. It’s Older boy/Younger Daddy and that shit is my catnip. It’s hard to find but I love it so much. Mitch is timid but Byron lets him open up and explore and be himself and it was so wonderful. Byron is so patient and kind snd kinky as hell. Seriously, the sex scenes in this were on fire. Especially that club scene. Mitch and Byron are exhibitionists and the author takes advantage of this and it’s wonderful. Everything wrapped up nicely and we get introduced to a new character that I’m very interested in and hope there will be a book for him because he has a story to tell. Overall, this is my second favorite book in the series.

I just don't know what to say about this. Theres the obvious:
#mm
#littles
#daddyandboy
#domandsub
#spanking

FB grammar police beware. I could care aless and I just focus on the story but apparently lots complain and so much so that book 1 has been pulled from Amazon for re-editing. Well this is book 3 and the spelling errors are quite atrocious. Makes me wonder if the author even goes back and rereads it to edit and they apparently have useless beta readers cause I would of pointed out the obvious mistakes at least lol. Such things as "he looked at me with infection" and "Byron went to sleep dreaming of Byron". lol

That aside. This book feats Mitch who is a middle. Bigger than the bb in book 1 but seemed more little than the boy in book 2. The daddy in this one is younger than the sub. I personally couldn't care but I know some people have their preferences so just putting that out there. It can be read as a standalone.

I'm just gonna be honest and say this book is a disappointment. Low 3 at most. For me book 2 was a let down but after this I'd have to rate book 2 as 3.5 and this just a 3. It makes me 🙁cause book 1 was 5 stars in my opinion. This one felt rushed and the plot was kind of not believable. Also, after reading the previous books I was excited to read about the shy boy and the tatted up biker/sex uni professor thinking the characters were going to be great together but I wasn't feeling the chemistry or the unbelievable storyline. #sorrynotsorry I highly recommend book 1 but would prob stop there.

Mitch really need someone to force his had and we've seen Byron pining after him for two whole books! I'm glad that they're finally together!

Is it bad to say I want to know ow more about his neighbors?? LOL

Mac being everyone saving grace. He's so funny and chill. I want to know ow more about him I can't wait to find out who his boy is. He took care of mitch and grant. he's so sweet, ugh I love him!

My rating my shock some people BUT let me explain.

Age gap and a Daddy Dom/ Baby boy, an r dynamic are my crack! Second, I agree with EVERYONE that talked about the grammatical errors and name switches. Unsure how she got through beta reads and Arc's with so many. And lastly, I loved how we got a little mystery with our hit man Mac. It added an unexpected dynamic to the story line. Looking forward to Mac and his boy along with Cole, Stone and Colin.

Rushed and full to the brim with errors

I was really excited about Mitch’s story. I expected angst and an explosive coming together. Because of COVID19 the author took a different approach, and in my opinion negated the epic setup she’d done for his character. The parts that should have caused excitement and drama were nerfed, making the story feel rushed and flat.

And again, what is with the number of errors!? Missing words, wrong words, changing from past to present tense—the list goes on. At least 50 obvious errors. Seriously, you spent all this time writing a book and you don’t proof read it once, just hit “publish”. It’s embarrassing, I’m embarrassed for the author. And it sucks because she’s a great writer and a very good story teller, who has created some of my favorite daddy/boy books.

The first and second books in the series were good, if you can get past the grammar and spelling issues, this one is flat, but the next book, with the crazy hit man daddy, sounds like it’s taking this series off the rails. I don’t know if I’ll read the next one, but I’m at least curious enough to watch for it.

Decent book with too many mistakes

The book was an okay read but the mistakes were very distracting. I’m tolerant of errors but this was annoying such as “Byron picked up his phone and saw it was Byron calling”.

"Lost Boy" by Athena Steller, the third installment in the Daddy’s Boy series, continues to delve into the complexities and nuances of Daddy Dom/boy relationships with a fresh and emotionally resonant narrative. In this novel, readers are introduced to Mitch, a character who has long understood his identity and desires within the BDSM framework but has yet to find a partner who truly complements him. Enter Byron, a confident and caring Daddy Dom, who sees Mitch not just for who he is, but for who he can become under his guidance and love.

Mitch's character is intriguing because of his self-awareness and the juxtaposition of his internal insecurities against his external confidence. Steller skillfully portrays Mitch’s journey of self-discovery and acceptance, making it a central theme of the book. Mitch's vulnerabilities are laid bare, making him a relatable and compelling character for readers.

Byron, on the other hand, is depicted as the epitome of a caring and nurturing Daddy Dom. His determination to support Mitch and help him navigate his insecurities is both heartwarming and inspirational. Byron’s character challenges the stereotypical portrayal of Doms as merely authoritative figures, highlighting the depth of care, respect, and consent inherent in these relationships.

"Lost Boy" thoughtfully explores themes of self-acceptance, the search for a sense of belonging, and the power of a supportive and understanding relationship. The age gap between Mitch and Byron adds another layer to their dynamic, challenging societal norms and expectations about relationships and what they should look like.

The inclusion of light BDSM elements, age play, and other aspects of their relationship is handled with care and respect, showcasing the trust and communication required to make these dynamics work. Steller’s depiction of consent and negotiation within the BDSM community is exemplary, providing an insightful look into a misunderstood world.

Steller’s writing shines in her ability to create multidimensional characters and emotionally charged narratives. The sexual content, while explicit, is integral to understanding the characters' relationships and is portrayed with sensitivity and authenticity. The exploration of voyeurism and public sex adds an edge to the novel without overshadowing the development of the relationship between Mitch and Byron.

"Lost Boy" is a powerful addition to the Daddy’s Boy series, offering readers an intimate look into the lives and loves of its protagonists. Athena Steller has crafted a story that is not only erotic but also deeply emotional and reflective. This novel is a testament to the idea that finding one's place and a sense of belonging can transform lives in the most profound ways. For fans of the series and newcomers alike, "Lost Boy" promises an engaging, thoughtful, and ultimately uplifting reading experience.

On the Fence

I'm giving this book 5 stars just because I love this series and Athena's writing but I do have to say that there were a lot of mistakes in this book especially the mixing up of names for Byron and Mitch. Normally I don't ever mention typos in my reviews because I expect there to be mistakes, nobody's perfect but this time around they were glaring and took me out of the story too many times. This was only the second time I've read a book where the boy was older than the Daddy and I think I prefer the boy to be younger. But that's just me. This had a HEA and characters from series carry over in each book. Mac is a new character who will be getting his book next. Can't wait to see who his boy will be and what their kink will be.

Poor Mitch

Poor Mitch, he was dragged through Hades before Byron could get him to admit that he was Mitch's Daddy, but once he did, it was awesome! Byron took such good care of Mitch, and you could just tell how much he cared.

Overall this book was a "meh". I think I read most of it thanks to my ability to focus on something until I finish it cause it wasn't much interesting or entertaining.

There was a good idea here, it isn't often we see an older boy with a younger Daddy I think the idea was wasted. The plot was rather thin, the characters didn't show much chemistry together and it felt a bit of a copy paste from Book 1 and 2, like the author themselves were caught in the rhythm of writing so they kept on going regardless if it made sense to do so or not.

I think there was promise here and perhaps the book could do with a rewrite. Really, we need more representation of the different dynamics in a DD/lb relationship and not just the classic twink with the older man.

At some point past the halfway point there's a couple extra characters making an appearance that I'm almost sure have their own book or series... maybe as an attempt to cross them over? Or just fan service? I'm not sure but I'm not really not interested in reading more by the author or about those characters, they didn't sound very compelling either.

There's also this side character that has made an appearance here and there that kind of creeps me out? I can't believe he's getting his own book considering how uncomfortable he makes me feel. It's a funny side character and has worked as a plot device but getting his own book sounds like a big stretch... which I'm kinda not surprised the author would do, since the stories a bit of a half baked thing.

Anyways. The series isn't that interesting either. I don't think I'll read another book or series by this author and I'm not interested at all in the novelettes or the next novela on the series. I'll leave this on as a 2 out of 5 and if you're interested it's a relatively short read with some kink and sweetness but not much more.

I had high hopes that Mitch would find the perfect Daddy even if his "Daddy" turned out to be younger than him. And I was not disappointed.

Byron was a great character. A college professor, who looked like a biker in his off campus dress, Byron knew Mitch was going to be his boy from the moment he met the older man. And the time to let go of his cares and stresses to simply be Byron's boy was exactly what Mitch needed. The two men were perfect for each other and their total power exchange was the dynamic Mitch had yearned for and finally got.

Mitch's nasty underhanded (lawyer) father did everything he could to destroy Mitch's confidence and self-respect, but Byron's steadfast love and support conquered all his fears.

Mac, the mysterious guy from the previous book in the series, shows up to indicate that Mitch's dad and the whole firm is going down for their illegal and underhanded activities. Fortunately, Mitch has always been a good guy and not involved with the firm other than to defend those who really need an attorney, minus bribery, so he's able to get out in time to miss the mud-slinging. And Mac? Well, that mysterious man is apparently a Daddy and will get his own boy in a future book.

There's plenty to enjoy about this book and I'm sure it would also meet lots of challenges like Pushing Boundaries or Whips & Kisses. Not only is it Daddy/little, it's 24 hour TPE and D/s, and there are a few public sex scenes as well. All this plus some friends who are a thruple and include a puppy, a Dom, and a submissive. And visits with the previous littles in the series. Definitely one to enjoy.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

2.5 rounded up to 3.

This book was so disappointing. The first book in the series, Baby Boy, was kind of messy. The second book, Pretty Boy, very much improved on the first. And then this book just dropped right back down.

The characters are pretty flat with little chemistry. The issues with grammar and inconsistency are back (although not as bad as Baby Boy).

I was really looking forward to Mitch & Byron because I liked their characters in the previous books.

Steller is churning these out and publishing them within months of eachother. I think it would be useful for her to take a little bit of extra time with each book to polish them up rather than just chucking them out there. There's potential that I think she's losing in her rush to get them out.

Mitch knew he was a boy when he saw a submissive over a Dom's knee being spanked. He has still not found his own Daddy he knows what he wants, but one man is going to change his outlook and maybe he wasn't right. As soon as Byron saw Mitch he knew that the older man was meant to be his boy, but fighting his insecurities is a massive job (even larger than putting up with his father). When Mitch’s world starts to crumble around him, Byron is determined to show Mitch he’s strong enough to earn the title Daddy.

I enjoyed this story with the dominant father who does nothing right, the younger Daddy who is strong enough and determined to keep his boy safe and the Little who is not as vanilla as first appears. I loved the way that Byron did whatever it took to remind Mitch that he was enough and eas important to him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This book contains mature MM content of a BDSM-like relationship with DDLB, voyeurism, public sex and light humiliation. The books are better to read in order for full enjoyment although each ends with a HEA.

I haven’t read many TPE (Total Power Exchange) books. Mitch is an attorney under a lot of pressure. He’s also a little who never has any time to unwind or a Daddy to keep him in check. Byron knows from their first meeting that Mitch could be everything he’s been looking for in a boy. When the men discover that their needs match up almost perfectly, their journey begins.

It was beautiful to see how easily Mitch would slip into little mode when Byron was around. I love how protective Byron is of Mitch . Mitch finally having the courage to stand up to his father and live the life he wanted and deserved was just lovely.

little with a tad more edge and adult issues

This third book focuses on an older little in terms of the adult’s age and the regression as well. It has a tiny bit more edge than the first two books which works well overall, but does take little stories in a slightly different flavor at times.

I personally would have like to seen Mitch’s age (vis-a-vis his own new Daddy, his best friend Daddies, and their younger regressed boyfriends) explored a bit more. Instead, older adult professional and family issues played a great role than for “twink” aged Daddy/little stories, which was appropriate.

At times, things moved extremely/unrealistically quickly (an open-ended nearly complete control, move-in contract within their first weekend). Despite their past non-relationship history, this required me to take a breath and suspend disbelief to continue. However, when I took some of the details as artistic license, it was enjoyable (and nicely different).
