Daniel’s dreams for Olympic glory died when his nation’s team is found guilty of widespread performance enhancing drug abuse. It doesn’t matter that he is innocent. Faith has been lost, and he pays the price along with the rest of his team.
After years of drifting, uncertain what the future can hold, Daniel finds what might be a new purpose: coaching. Inspired by a vibrant, energetic athlete who doesn’t have the money to afford a professional coach, Daniel commits himself to helping her realize her own dreams.
But his new protégé’s life is complicated and competition for the spots on the newly formed National Team is intense… and not everyone is willing to play fair.
*** Fair Warning! ***
This novel contains intensely explicit erotic scenes with harem and light BDSM elements amidst the rest of the drama.
sports drama about a decathlon athlete who was wrongly accused of doping and years later starts to train a pole vaulting women. The intro into the story was not very believable but later on a good chemistry between the three main persons develop.
Rather more "slice of life" than I usually prefer, but that's probably why I picked this up as a change of pace. Pretty standard for the author, so if you like his stuff you'll probably like this too. The male lead was well-balanced, and the women felt well-rounded to me [I realize how that sounds now that see it, but I'll leave it anyway].
Villains were a bit more cardboard, but this wasn't a story with a lot of action or far-fetched action so they served their purpose in the plot. Overall it rated the 4 I gave it.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and it was hard to put down. The characters were totally lifelike, and the plot was believable and fun as well as fast paced. This book was well written and one of the best books I have read in a while. Would recommend this book to readers of any genre.
A lot of fun and twists and turns and revenge and vengeance and competition and sexy times and good characters and great situations and setups. Took a star off for excessive inner monologue and monologue that kept interrupting conversations which stalled them out and broke immersion
I throughly enjoyed this book. I learned more about pole jumping then I will ever need to know. I will watch the Olympics with more enjoyment now. The book flowed well and the characters were well developed. The only criticism I have is that I felt the sex scenes were a little too much.
Loved this book from the start. Well written, believable characters that read like you and me with exceptional character growth. And the adult scenes were there because they carried the story line, not because the author threw them in just as an after thought. Beyond a doubt, one of the best I've read so far this year.
Wasn't sure what to expect but was not disappointed at all. The story was fast interesting from beginning to end and the characters were fun to learn about. Good interaction and growth all around.
Well written with a depth and hook absent from many in the harem genre. More than just intimate relations, building on real relationships with just a bit of too lucky to be believed. Very much looking forward to Year 2!
Love it. Shawn, you did it again my friend. As someone from the islands. I love that this book was located there. Loved the characters and setting, looking forward to the next novel. Keep up the good work my man.
Really really enjoyed this novel. Great plot, great main character, heck, great villains. Good flow, reasonably well edited, not too many typos. Looking forward to more from this author.
This was a fun book to read. I actually pole vaulted competitively so it did strike home form me and made me nostalgic. The story was well written and entertaining. Good job!
I am enjoying this wonderful fun adventure of young lady that has a passion to make to Olympic but poor and man that made it to the Olympics but got caught up in drug crises from his team. They come together to help her win.
Absolutely loved this book! Shawn Keys never disappoints. This book head sports, action, and some pretty good sex scenes. Erin Bateman knocked it out of the park with her audible narration.
