While Sunni Taylor is embroiled in her own personal turmoil with Detective Brady Jackson, she's handed a new assignment to cover a longstanding feud between two families, the Plunketts and Carmichaels. A decades long fight over water rights seems like rather lackluster fodder for a newspaper story, but when the feud devolves into secret trysts and plotted murders, Sunni finds herself deep in the thick of it all.

It seems, once again, Sunni is thrown into Jackson's path. For the moment she pushes aside her broken heart and muddled head. She has a murder to solve and a story to write. But things turn frightening when the investigation puts her directly in the path of a ruthless killer.

Small towns make it a wee bit difficult to avoid the your ex. Honestly, for all Sunni's heart's been bruised by the breakup, she still WANTS to see Jax. And he wants to see her. Which works for me because I want the two of them to get back together. If only Sunni would tell him that teeny-tiny secret she's holding onto.

But we'll get to that in a minute. First, we have an unexpected death to deal with. As tends to happen, Sunni is minding her own business (interviewing a family for an article for the paper, this time around) when someone's found dead at the farm next door. Also as tends to happen, Sunni neatly inserts herself into the investigation. Not unexpectedly (unlike the unexpected death mentioned above), she has to spend time with the hunky detective Brady Jackson during the course of the investigation.

On a positive note, Jax isn't letting their breakup turn him cold to Sunni. In fact, he's more than happy to have her helping. (Or maybe he's just happy to keep an eye on her, since she has a tendency to get into some difficult situations.) So the two work their magic to figure out the whos and whys of how it happened.

On an even happier note, Sunni does finally come clean about her resident ghost. Which pleases me greatly since said ghost is directly involved in...well, several things having to do with Jax. Once Jax wraps his head around all of it, I'm hopeful things will get back to normal between these two crazy kids.

A little murder, a little secrecy, more than a little danger, and an arrogant ghost who delights in keeping Sunni on her toes. *thumbs up*

I have waited for this book to come out and I have to say it was well worth the wait! Without giving too much away the book starts out where Sunni is asked to write about a generations feud between two families, the Plunketts and the Carmichaels. Due to get married despite the feud, the Carmichael's son Tyler David and the Plunkett's daughter Jenna called it off after a bunch of drama caused by both fathers. There had just been a court case figuring out who owned the water rights to the farms.

While Sunni is there, Plunkett, the father gets murdered! If that wasn't bad enough, when Harold Carmichael came into the house, he was stunned. Of course because of the feud, everyone think it was Harold that did it, but that was quickly proved wrong when Harold gets murdered the next day.

I could not believe how it ended it was so shocking, but it was a gread read! During the story Brady Jackson the investigator and Sunni's ex boyfriend, see each other a lot. Sunni and Brady are both a mess. However can Sunni work up the courage to tell Brady about "the secret"?

Read and find out what happens with all the things going on in the book. It was well written, a lot of angst, and many great scenes Sunni spends with the kids to spy and find out the truth! I gave this book 5 Stars and can't wait for the next book from Firefly Junction. Here is a list of all the books in reading order-they are all great and can be read as a standalone but more enjoyable read from the beginning!

1. Death in the Park
2. Killer Bridal Party
3. Murder at the Inn
4. A Humbug Holiday
5. Calamity at the Carnival
6. Double Trouble
7. Havoc at Wildwood Manor
8. Fatal Feud
9. TBA

I love Firefly Junction books!!!

Unfortunately, I've only been able to read a few, because they are not in kindle unlimited. I read approximately three to four books a day. $3.99 even one book a day at that price would be too much. I admit I've read a few for free and the last two for full price. I HAD to find out how Jax took, finding out about Edward. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to read your books, London. I love to read!! My kids tease me all the time to how much I read. I've always loved to read. My husband has threatened to take my kindle away and hide it from me! Lol. He did, once. I complained, so loudly, he gave it right back.

London Lovett has done it again with “Fatal Feud.” This time Sunni has been given an assignment to investigate a long standing feud between rival families, The Carmichaels and the Plunketts. This feud dates back generations rivaling that of the Hatfield and McCoys.

Sunni is still reeling from her break up with Detective Jackson. However, she moves forward to investigate her current assignment. Of course nothing is ever simple when Sunni gets involved and this story is no different. Sunni stumbles upon one murder then another. The slimy associate at the paper, Chase, once again tries to weasel his way into her story but without success.

As Sunni attempts to find the killer she runs smack dab into none other than Detective Jackson. Oddly enough, he is happy to see her and you can definitely tell the spark between the two still exists. The question is will Sunni finally reveal the secret that just broke them apart? That my friend is exactly why you need to read this exciting new installment. You won’t regret it!

Gripping story!

Another unputdownable story from London Lovett. The two story plots of murder and Sunii's love life are interwoven to each other. This series gets better and better, Port Danby used to be my favourite series but Firefly Junction has now overtaken it, they are sub plots in the murder story that are unexpected and kept me guessing until the end. Great story, anyone who likes cosy mysteries with a bit of paranormal or a good romance in a murder mystery will love this book.

Finally.

Sunni and Jackson are still on the outs but at least they're speaking. Sunni is on assignment for the paper following up on the feud between two families who farm next to each other. While interviewing one family, murder happens at the neighboring farm. Sunni helps Jackson work the case and they are getting along, but if it weren't for Sunni's secret, she and Jackson would still be together. Will Sunni finally tell him about Edward? And if she does, will he believe her? I'm not going to spoil the story but I will be reading the next book.

Finally!

Finally she throws us a few bread crumbs about Edward and explaining his family line. I have to admit that I’ve gotten really frustrated with what little storyline was devoted to the ghost and letting others know about him. I would have bought the book to wrap up his story but by it being pieced and parceled out in each book, you have to buy 15 books to finish the story. I’m a little frustrated because of all the extra expense, and at having to read 8 more books before the story is wrapped up. I hadn’t decided whether to buy the next 8 books or not.

GREAT story, I loved it. i've read 8 out of i don't know how many but each story leads you further into the lives of Sunni and Jackson. You've got to read thses books. The charactors are great, well developed and getting better with each book. i'm on to book 9 and can't wait to find out what adventures Sunni gets herself involved in next. And don't forget her sisters and her psychic friend. They really complete the cast.

The Hatfields and the McCoys have nothing on Firefly Junction feuding families - the Plunketts and the Carmichaels. The feud is generational and has been going on for decades, until the patriarchs from both families meet their tragic ends! Who hated the fighting so much that they would be willing to kill? The answer might surprise you!!
