Rate this book
Michael can silence a crowd with his story of triumph over adversity. If you need a dash of hope or inspiration in your life right now, start reading.-- Catriona Rowntree, bestselling author and host of GetawayMICHAEL CROSSLAND IS A SURVIVOREverything Will Be OK is the awe-inspiring story of Michael's journey from enduring life-threatening cancer as a child, to representing Australia playing baseball in the USA, to becoming an accomplished businessman and a globally in-demand inspirational speaker, starting an orphanage in Haiti and taking national ambassador roles with many organisations including Camp Quality. When Michael was initially diagnosed as a child, his chances of survival were practically zero and by his second birthday doctors had reluctantly given up hope. Then one day he was offered one remote chance to fight back--placement in an experimental drug program. Against all odds, he survived. He was the only program participant to do so. But he didn't make it through unscathed. To this day he lives with permanent scars--a severely burnt lung, damaged heart, and an intensely sensitive immune system. In this stirring memoir, Michael shares his story of hardship and challenges that many of us wouldn't even dream of facing, and reveals how a steadfast mindset, genuine compassion, tireless drive, and unwavering optimism helped him to overcome even the strongest obstacles. It is a simple and enduring belief that everything will be OK.

I was very touched by this book, Micheal narrates the story of his life from first person smoothly transitioning from discussing pillar moments and core memories in his life ( both good and bad!) weaved into his mentality upon receiving them : we all can learn from Micheal and his approach to life and greater purpose for the people. Micheal represents unwavering faith , strength and most importantly love for God and people and manifesting his hardships into opportunities to serve a greater purpose and objective and set the tone in changing areas of hardship he has endured. This is a must read book full of gems of knowledge from reflecting on good life values and work ethic to psychological components of playing against a victimhood mentality and having great faith and watching God deliver on the other side of it. The main lessons that stuck with me were stepping out of a victim mentality ( BED : Blame , excuse ,Denial) and stepping into navigator mode and being accountable Micheal quotes ‘ I complained about the comfort of the shoes I wore until I saw someone with no feet’ to step into ‘moving , sharing ,serving’ when faced with adversity and to ‘ give and not remember and recieve and never forget ‘‘ It’s not the amount of days we live that determine the quality of our lives but what we fit into those days that allow us to live a remarkable life’ written in great candour and excellent humor reflective of his character and authenticity , this was an easy read and very moving story.

This book is more than just another self-help book. Michael Crossland is the real deal; a man who came from struggle and hardship, accomplished many impressive feats and became one of Australia's most sought after speakers. In this book he lays out his life story, with all the hardships he faced and how he came out stronger for it. With this book he doesn't just offer short term motivation but rather a deep shift in your mindset that will help you achieve your full potential, as long as you're willing to put in the work. After reading this book I finally understand what was wrong with my mentality and I can safely say that I now have a new attitude towards life and achieving my goals. Now I understand what it takes to live up to your full potential, which is something that 99% of people are never quite able to do. Here's a hint- it doesn't happen without suffering. This book is worth its weight in gold.
