Professor X pairs up Kitty Pryde with Logan for a mision and neither of them are happy about it. But unless they learn to work together, neither of them will come back from their first mission together alive!

Okay--I enjoyed most of this. It’s quite light, and I generally don’t think of anything related to Wolverine as being light lol. The story’s essentially told from an X-Men neophyte’s perspective, Kitty. I think it reads like a good jumping-in point if you’ve never read or seen anything-X-Men--the storytelling does a good (albeit quick) job of introducing the X-Men by introducing Kitty.
I do sometimes wish that Wolverine wasn’t an asshole so much (which he is in this comic), but then his backstory events essentially drove him to be an asshole. His assholeness was inescapable, like a planet stuck orbiting a sun…er, something like that.
Note that I’m a big fan of most of the X-Men movies, and I loved the first Wolverine movie (I didn’t like the second), so I’m a little biased here.
I actually had this on my Kindle from when Amazon was doing one of its free comic offers--I have dozens of comics from those offers, and I’m backlogged on reading them. But, knowing the way my mind works and what it focuses on, I probably downloaded this Wolverine one partly because of that image on the cover--the image of Wolverine’s, uh, stance, shall we say. That’s certainly why I picked it up to read yesterday lol…..
Kitty Pryde is a brand-new arrival at Charles’s X-Men University.
She has a big crush on Peter, aka Colossus.
Illustration quality varies heavily. Some is really strong, usually the close-ups. The ones that pan out aren’t great; at times, Kitty is giving suburban housewife vibes.
Kitty and Wolverine’s mission is in West Virginia.
A new mutant…
The explanation of their actual ages comes fairly late.
Despite the artwork issues, the plot line is actually cool. Would continue.
Kitty Pryde gets teamed with Wolverine. He doesn’t want the team up; she’s new to XMen. You can tell where this is going can’t you? And it does. Formulaic and too predictable for me but doubtless it will appeal to a much younger audience. Sorry, etc.
You have to love kitty pryde! THIS one also gives an edge of your seat insight as to why logan is such an a-hole to everyone. My mains criticism. Is it's unclear who the rescued female.mutant is,l, in the story (i.e. we learn her mutant powers bit not necessarily her name from the story itself)
I don't get it. They can write Kitty as a young teen, why hasn't anyone figured out how to write her as a young adult? This story is pretty simple - Kitty going on her first mission paired with Logan. And as expected she saves the day kind of by being herself. And Logan is also himself, not simply a mindless berserker and yet also a mindless berserker.
