There’s something new, dark, and sweet at Old Ironbound Ymir made a vow to master magic and to take care of his women. To do that, he'll stay at the Majestrial Collegium Universitas, but he'll stay on his own terms. He has a new business idea that will make life at the college sweeter and keep all the scholars randy. Ymir’s new business scheme requires a kitchen girl: the flirty dwarf named Toriah Welldeep, whose cheerful smile hides a broken heart.
It's not all work, though, and he finds love, laughter, and passion with Jennybelle Josen and Lillee Nehenna, though the elf maiden is struggling to come to terms with the short lifespan of her new family, and something is giving Jenny nightmares.
Could it be one of the new professors working at Old Ironbound? The incoming teachers are not what they seem. Is the Midnight Guild coming to finish what they started?
Barbarians don’t wait for assassins to murder them in their beds. Barbarians murder first.
Disclaimer: Barbarian Assassin is a steamy slice-of-life harem adventure in a magic university on another world. The story burns slow and hot, as hot as the depraved women in Ymir’s life. The sex scenes are explicit. You’ve been warned. Enter a brand-new world from Aaron Crash, the bestselling author of the American Dragon series.
This series isn't as entertaining as I thought it would have been.
The beginning of this book makes it very clear that this is a slice of life fantasy series which kinda threw me off. Considering American dragon was action packed I thought I would have gotten more of the same here but was mistaken. This is clearly an error on my part but that didn't make me not want to read the book. What made me not want to continue this book was how boring it was. Ymir is fine, I don't really have any complaints about him but the women of the book feel flat and boring. Considering Ymir is like the only notable male in this series and the rest of the characters in the book are women, this is a real shame.
The females of this series can only think of one thing. Literally we get two female perspectives in this book and I swear 90% of their thoughts are about sex. Literally we spend pages with these women reminiscing about sex. Jeezus. I get this is somewhat of an erotica novel but reducing the women to only be thinking about sex, is a real shame.
Slight spoilers here
To me, Della's character was ruined because every time we switch to her perspective it literally was about her thinking "Yo I want to fuck my students and my staff but as princept, I will not!" Then after having that inner conflict for about the thousandth time, she starts to think about the past and all the sexual experiences she had. How the fuck is this an interesting character? All she does is think about sex. DA FAQ.
Lilee is worse off. She literally is one of the most boring characters I have read. Her entire purpose in this book is to be a sex slave for Ymir and the women around him. Yes she chooses to have sex so frequently and willingly but is that really all to her character. Well In fact, yes it is. She is just a fucking sex bot. Jeezus H Mice. This is just sad.
Princesses of the Ironbound is Conan the Barbarian meets Harry Potter in an R-rated epic fantasy that has all the raunchiness a guy could want. The second book is even better than the first. Highly recommended for fans of fantasy, intrigue, and sex.
Another sizzling hot harem adventure which takes place in a magic university on another world. It is a book aimed at adult and mature, open minded readers, who are ready to enjoy the explicit sex scenes between Ymir and his ever growing team of women lovers. Ymir is a barbarian clansman of the BlackWolf Clan who came to study magic even though he feared this so much, and his lovers were the princesses Jennybelle Josen and the elf Lillee Neheena who are later joined by the dwarf Toriah Welldeep, all hot and raunchy as hell, which was just as Ymir liked his women. They all face many threats during their first year at the university so its not just about sex, however Ymir vows to keep his women safe and will do anything necessary to do so. If only he could find out where the threats to their lives were coming from! Was it jenny's aunt Jia sending assassins to kill her for betraying her families trust and her duty? was it the Midnight Guild coming to finish off what they started? Ymir studied hard to find the best way to beat the threats on their lives, he already had one Akkiric ring, the black ice ring, but was out to forge his next one, even though he feared the powers he might unleash when using these. Apart from that he needed money to see him through his tuition fees and let him and Lillee off the hook of having to work like slaves to stay on at the university, and they came up with a plan. They would start creating xocolati treats, imbuing these with love magic which would make all those who ate these randy and hot, however this would mean they would be competing with the fairy Ziziva who was running her xocolati shop, the Paradise Tree and making one more enemy! Can our friends see this year through and be still standing at the end of it? I love the thrill throughout the book both on the sexual scene and the mystery assassination scene which kept me intrigued right to the end and looking forward to book 3 in anticipation. I particularly like the fact the even though all the characters in the story come with their own past baggage and their own insecurities every one of the different races is seen as beautiful and their differences as alluring.
Main character went to Magical University to get rid of his magical prowess. This was the main plot arc. Now that he has his own Princess Harem to protect, his vision has changed, and now seeks more magical power and a desire to make money by making magical chocolate treats for the students and townspeople around the magical university. This book-geek makes this second volume about sex and more sex, girl on girl, teacher on girl, main protagonist on who ever will have him, and better if it is in an orgy. I use the derogatory term book-geek to describe the author, because this book lost all sense since it became the sexual adventures of the main character and his bi-sexual lady harem. The lower are the instincts, the lower the motivations, emotional intelligence and interest a reader may have in this fantasy novel series. The lowest desires humans or animals have are to procreate, to eat and to go to the bathroom. Second tier desires are to belong and nurture a family or a group. It is obvious that this will never be a great novel series in that it is just covering the basics. Food and sex and more sex. I'm sure the protagonist and his sexual retinue is having more sex than the author will have in his lifetime. The thing about sex is that it is better doing it than being told about it. Feelings, emotions and erotica are better if you are your own protagonist. To read somebody else's sexual adventures is absurd and boring. On the first volume this had the potential to be a good fantasy-adventure series, the moment the author made it about sexual conquests, sexual adventures, and chocolate...this story died. I do not know who the author's friends are, but someone should warn him about going overboard with sex tunnelvision. Most of the porn on social media is free. Who would want to waste their money in this smut-lewd-story-less-plot-less fantasy novel series?
I Hate Della. Does she get better? Or does she take away from all the other books too ?! She is written like an antagonist but meant to be a protagonist? I’m not talking being some evil villain, but just clearly unlikable and it seems to be on purpose. Truthfully, I like how he wrote the story, slow burn harem without new people each story with some random plot line but wow, I hate della and her character that when I continue I would skip every page of hers. I’m gonna continue the series, as I enjoy Ymir, and his princesses.
This series is like the love child of combining Conan with Fafherd and the Grey Mouser. While watching a very 70’s pulp action movie and occasionally glancing at an open copy of Harry Potter sitting next to you on the couch.
The plot is wintery and overcast, promising potentially dark future events, or at least some rough weather.
The magic is magical, and while it can be categorized and manipulated to a certain extent, our MC repeatedly shows us that magic, by definition, has a sort of will of its own, and its very much not always nice.
And while there is a lot - and boy howdy I do mean a LOT - of sex going on, it’s used more as a permeating feature than a definition of character. Everyone does it, but each race does it differently, and each with their own hang ups. Each character we’re presented with has their own reasons for doing it (or avoiding it), and that just combines with their personalities and motivations, making for a richer experience.
I also really enjoy how we’re introduced to races old and new, each with their own unique spin. For example, the dwarves you find here are not the same ones you’ve read about before. They’re close, but there are some solid differences.
Additionally, we’re never sure who’s a friend and who’s a foe. Attitudes change, motives change, and greed is universal. While we learn a lot in this book, we’re still left with more unseen and unsaid answers to the questions we learn to ask.
While we enjoy the ride. (So to speak.) Recommended. 16+
Another solid book; if you like the first one you'll like this. I appreciate that it didn't end smack at the close of a particular story arc (no spoilers), but my one quibble is that at this pace we're lining up for 8 books (I see some significance there based on the book, now that I think of it). I'm not sure my attention span for any one series stretches that far.
That's not due to some arbitrary number issue, it's just that some ideas get stretched too far. I stopped reading the author's American Dragons series for that reason (it was rinse, repeat after about the 5th one) and I don't want to see that happen here. So far these are superior books to any in that series, so I'd like to see that quality continue. If we need 8 rings and 7 princesses it doesn't have to take 8 books to get there.
If you're looking into reading this one then that's because you've already read the first one. I guess the only thing you're curious about is whether or not it's a good read and the greatness continues oh, and I can safely say it does. Very awesome continuation and I can tell you that the Intrigue is very well done. I like to try to figure things out before I know for sure and I can safely say that it caught me a bit by surprise but I definitely enjoyed the way it kept me guessing. I also liked it the Intrigue in the action wasn't too over-the-top and repetitive. The character and plot development is very well done. Looking forward to reading the next book.
The barbarian, Ymir, decides to quit his study of the janitorial arts in order to realize his dream of being a chocolatier. Ymir is becoming more interesting as he slowly starts to slide on the slippery-slope of magic. In general, I also find the LIs in this series pretty entertaining as they all have a variety of issues that make them stand out. Although some of the women do have seemingly pathological libido issues, which appear to cause genuine distress at times. Overall, this was another good volume and I'm curious to see what happens during their sophomore year.
Ymir adds another princess to his family. Danger follows him and his women. It is seen that an assassin will kill Jenny and possibly Ymir. He works to forge a ring that will help him see who is threatening him and his women and allow him to prevent it. His business of making and selling candy with an extra magic punch may may put him in the glare of a dangerous fairy. I like the action, humor, intrigue and romance. I look forward to the next book.
Book 2 is even more fun than book 1 as we have got to know more of our favourite insatiable barbarian as he battles to save his Harem of princesses. As the magic grows so does the danger and the number of enemies they shall face so using more than his muscles to gain more help gives extra spice for the story and more drama. Great exotic read
This book continued to flush out the characters and their backstories which helped keep things fresh. The book keeps you hooked with some of the mysteries and lore surrounding the school being revealed while new interesting questions arise. Overall, it is a very enjoyable read.
Despite the disclaimer and the harem tag this series is not harem genre, it's some sort of open relationship/poly arrangement. The MMC screws up and makes some idiotic mistakes in this book but it hardly matters because the series is already well on it's way into devolving into lesbian porn. Most lesbian porn scripts probably make more sense and have less plot holes though, not to mention some great visuals in the final product. Without the visuals this series doesn't have much going for it and I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a cuckold fetish.
Did great with this book. Kept me reading. Finished it in 2 day with almost no sleep. Did much better with not having time slips\jumps. Can't wait to read the next one.
The story just went so quickly from one point to another. I couldn't keep up are they making candy or are they tracking assassin's or are they making a magic ring
I have greatly enjoyed the books so far. A barbarian with a brain as well as a heart. Unyielding but not forceful and so very clever. When the life of his Swamp Coast woman is threatened Simmer will stop at nothing to keep her and the rest safe.
I enjoyed reading this book. A lot happens. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth reading.
I like how this story progresses “naturally”. No one jumps into bed in the first paragraph, professing their undying love for each other. It is smooth, subtle and natural. Building trust and commitment.
The first book was good, there was a story line and some light sex. In this second book there's no story, just pointless sex. I'm stopping at 34% because frankly, I'm bored with it.
