This book is about lying - and that you shouldn’t do it.

My problem with this one is that it feels underdeveloped in learning the moral. I think if there were a little more focus on the act of lying and consequences beyond just getting caught, this would be a much better story for young readers.

KU format was good.

Cute book about why you shouldn't tell lies. Larry lies all the time until one day a girl calls his bluff. He has to admit he lied, then she admits she lied too. He wants to be her friend. She says they can't be friends, but then that is a lie, and so they become friends. And he doesn't lie again...that we know of.

Honesty

This is a humorous, quick read about lying. The author gets right to the point and Larry meets his match and also changes his behavior once realizing the impact of his lies. Illustrations on each page. I enjoyed the simple illustrations. And the book.

My son said it’s awesome

My son, who is 7, enjoyed how Larry had to tell the truth at the end. Even though he had to tell the truth, he was able to make a friend with a little girl and he learned his lesson....maybe.

This book made me laugh so hard, but i love the lesson in it. It’s the story of a little donkey who always lies and one day gets in a big pickle from it. It teaches the importance of telling the truth while being silly and relatable for kids.

As a school counselor, this book would be great to use as a conversation starter with a young child who is lying excessively.

This was an amusing story. The lesson on why lying isn’t a positive action is an added bonus. It was a little short of a book, though.

I didn’t love the way this ended, as I was looking for a way to discuss lying and how it isn’t a good choice, but the way this ended happily with two friends wasn’t my favourite.
