I would recommend this book to anyone who feels overwhelmed by clutter in their homes. You don't have to formally consider yourself or be considered a hoarder for this book to be of interest/help to you. The book highlights the thoughts and emotions behind hoarding disorders and helps you to see where you might be on that spectrum, and how you can make a plan and slowly work on the issues and take your life back from your possessions.
Overall a helpful book for decluttering. I liked reading that a cluttering problem is not hoarding disorder! Included in suggestions for decluttering are self-care recommendations for our daily lives. Very important. Room by room strategies are helpful. Also liked that achieving an organized lifestyle is a journey that requires physical and emotional maintenance.
Now to implement some of the strategies to improve my surroundings ( and help my son and his wife).
Callisto Media/Rockridge Press was kind enough to send me a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.
I love my books so I am not going to declutter them. I am not as much of a clutterbug (or a hoarder like one sister of ours) as some people are, but I like my stuff. I have gotten rid of a lot of things and books that I have boxed up while home from work due to COVD19 but this book just p!$$ed me off and made me feel bad about myself.
Fantastic approach to becoming clutter free! Well thought out plan from a highly educated author who has real world experience in helping people get there life back! Grab a copy today and free yourself!
As a recovered (but still vigilant) hoarder, I'm going through books that might be useful to other hoarders and those who love them. This is a comprehensive overview of types of hoarding and strategies for overcoming in a fairly non-judgmental format.
