Corey Logan won my affection after reading Inside Passage and I still remain her champion in Teaser.

Corey’s strength, intuition, and hardened past serves her, yet her softness and vulnerability combine to create one worthy protagonist. Corey demonstrates, capabilities and courage again in Teaser. Her dedication to rescue two teens in danger without thought to her own risk reveals her authenticity. Her compassion, altruistic heart and her rugged shell merge to form a formidable force. Abe, his quirky ways, intelligence and unrelenting support of Corey endears him to the reader. Their coupling is verified through their understanding and respect of each other. Where there is one, the other follows, ready to support and face anything together. Two highly intelligent characters besting the bad guy.

The narrative resembles a spider web, many threads form a powerful storyline with one psychotic deranged character at its apex. ‘Teaser’ is loathsome and lethal, you will turn each page fretting unsavory and heinous deeds this undesirable character commits. The plot gains momentum creating a true nail biter until the very end. Clever twists and turns leave the reader in wonderment of how all will play out. A powerful and intricate plot dealing with the sensitive topic of sexual abuse.

Weissbourd’s stellar writing, memorable characters – especially of Corey Logan and an extremely well crafted narrative never disappoint. A plot addressing sexual abuse along with manipulation, secrecy, communication, deception and parenting issues, deliver quite a notable story ably presented.

Teaser is the sequel to Inside Passage, however, it is fine as a standalone. I do recommend reading Inside Passage only adding to your reading enjoyment in both content and authorship.

Teaser: A Corey Logan Thriller by Burt Weissbourd is book 2 of 3 in The Corey Logan Trilogy. Teaser is a superbly written and richly descriptive novel with brilliantly drawn characters and settings. The threads of storytelling are expertly woven in this gripping mystery thriller that had me engaged from the start. Skillfully constructed and set against the backdrop of Seattle’s streets’, this book will have you turning the pages from beginning to end. In addition, the characters are drawn with great credibility and conviction.

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book, and replaying parts of the story in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a well written thriller with perfect pacing.

There are scenes of a graphic nature with adult content including sex, drug use, abuse, paedophilia, abduction, and violence. Nevertheless, the themes and outcome are just as affecting in the arresting contemporary landscape. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me.

Ex-con Corey is a mother who does what it takes to protect he son Billy as she and Abe battle an evil genius playing the long game. What makes this five star crime fiction is the brilliance of Burt Wiessbourd's prose. It's adrenaline fueled energy power an original story of memorable characters in crisis.

Book two in the Corey Logan trilogy by Burt Weissbourd is today’s feature! We are are so happy to be partnering with this very talented author! Make sure to check out his books by using the link in our bio for bookshop.org!
This time Corey is back 18 months from where we left off in book one. She has a job as an investigator helping to find runaway teens and helping to rehabilitate them. One of her first cases haunts her and when she has the chance to find the murderer of that teen, she jumps at the opportunity.
I must say that book two feels darker than book one. It explores the world of runaways, drug use, torture and rape. Corey constantly fights for good and is fiercely protective of her son and his friends. She will stop at nothing to try and keep them safe.
This book is another page turner! Make sure you check out next week’s post when we highlight book three! Then the following week we will be hosting an awesome giveaway!
***fun fact- this book is based in the Seattle/Bainbridge Island area and the photo for this post was taken at Fort Ward Park, which is discussed in this book!

Teaser, the second book in the thriller Corey Logan series, is in no way a disappointment for those familiar with the first book. It is as well written as the first and the characters are compelling, gritty, raw and at times horrific. The topic, child runaways, abductions, pedophilia, drugs and more will be hard for some people to read about, but the book is a good dive into this world that exists with ours day by day, side by side.
Corey and her partner in crime Abe are out on the streets of Seattle, looking into child and teen runaways. What they find with the help of their friend Billy is so much more sinister, kidnappings and even grooming is happening among the halls of Olympic academy and the fight is once again on to save these kids, earn their trust and ultimately help them back to a regular life.

Corey is a badass character who you don’t want to mess with. The action in this makes it a page turner and kept me guessing til the end. The unique perspectives of each character helps drive the plot. Now don’t get me wrong, there is some messed up stuff in this book, but I think it worked in the story.

Star is an older woman who has taken up with Maisie and Aaron. She is introducing them to sex, drugs, and other things they haven't been exposed too. Maisie and Aaron start skipping school to spend more time with Star. Only Star has an ulterior motive for befriending the pair. Her friend "Teaser" is interested in Maisie. He shared a cell with her real father in prison and when he looks at her all he sees is revenge.

Meanwhile, Corey is busy working with one of the young women she found. Corey finds runaways for a living and she's very protective of the children she recovers. She's having a bad day when one of the girls shows up with broken ribs, black eyes, and is battered all over. Corey takes it upon herself to try and help the girl and get her away from her abuser.

Abe is a therapist. He is helping to treat Maisie with her anxiety and difficulties at home. However, Maisie begins talking to him about the sex and drugs. When Maisie misses her appointment for her weekly drug testing Abe becomes worried. He thinks something may have happened to her and it turns out he's right.

Billy is Corey's son. He's also friends with Aaron and Maisie. He's concerned that Aaron and Maisie are into drugs and confides in his mother about the problem. When his mother goes to Aaron's dad, Billy is angry that she broke his confidence. He begins to turn away from her again.

The characters in this book are all interwoven into one bigger story. The story revolves around Teaser, a man who just got out of jail. Teaser was in jail because he enjoyed young girls way too much. While in jail he became even worse. He would injure himself on purpose but no longer seemed to feel anything. Abe has a bad feeling about Teaser being out of jail and when Maisie comes up missing he's afraid of where she might have gone and who might have taken her.

This is the thrilling sequel to Inside Passage that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the story. Pay close attention because every character plays an important role and has important information. The ending comes to a dramatic conclusion as the characters finally clash.

I give this book 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

This is the sequel to Inside Passage, it doesn't have to be read to understand this book but I definitely recommend it! It just lets you get more attached to the characters and shows how Abe and Corey found each other. Plus it is written just as brilliantly as this book!

Corey is starting her life over again with a mostly clean state. She is building a relationship with her son Billy, luxuriating in her love for Abe, and finding herself through finding troubled children and helping them out of abusive situations. Life is beginning to feel normal for her again just before she gets caught in the middle of a new spider's web.

Abe is a talented psychologist who has been helping a young woman Maisie with some of her issues. When she begins to tell him stories about sex and drugs he starts to become concerned especially when she misses one of her weekly drug tests. Billy, Corey's son and friend of Maisie's, confirms that these things have been happening with an older girl named Star.

What none of them know is the whirlwind that's about to spiral them out of control. The whirl wind's name is Teaser and knows Maisie's real father. That's why he sent Star to befriend her. With a mind focused on revenge he will let nothing stand in his way.

Such a great book!!!! I love the way Burt Weissbourd handles sensitive issues and weaves them seamlessly into a difficult plot while still keeping you right on the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what's coming next. There is some talk about sexual and physical abuse but it's handled well while also giving a very real look at how difficult it is to deal with.

Burt Weissbourd is such a great writer and the characters are phenomenal and real. I would kill to have Abe as my actual therapist! He paints realistic pictures of people with all their foibles and imperfections as well as showing their strength and intelligence. All in all definitely a great read!

A stunning, fast paced thriller that took me on an intense ride and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire way through.

It took me a while to get to know the characters, but once I did I was sucked into this dark, twisted game of lies and deceit. Teaser, even though a frightening character, had to be admired for his brilliant mind. He played an excellent game, outsmarting everyone, even Corey who seemed to have one up on him at one point.

This story was suspenseful and intriguing with exciting plot twists that were never predictable. The characters were all well written and the story had plenty of depth. If you love beautifully executed thrillers that will play with your mind as well as your heart, this is the book for you.

I have been a great fan of this author since reading Inside Passage, the first novel in the Corey Logan series. Teaser is a great second act, a taught thriller with plenty of action and just as much psychological depth. Corey, with husband Abe by her side, is at her best, matching wits, guts and guile against the formidably intelligent and dark-hearted Teaser. Moving effortlessly between the societal strata of Seattle, this novel does more than entertain - it illuminates the danger of being too cool to care. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast, compelling and fascinating read.

This book is the sequel to 'Inside Passage', which I have not yet found, but this story stands on it's own as a first-rate thriller. Corey Logan has a way with lost teenagers and bad guys, and her psychologist husband Abe, and she, have their work cut out for them when psychotic "Teaser" is released from prison with a revenge plan that involves impressionable friends of Corey's son.
