Filthy Line #3

A Filthy Enemy

Rate this book
He literally left me on the side of the road.

Tossed from his tour bus because he was a bad boy rock star.
And I was just some chick who could sing.

That’s only reason one of a million why I hate Reed.

I get it though - he’s hot, plays bass with those long fingers that leave you wondering what else they could do...
But he’s evil.

And with each chart topping song and album and worldwide tour he’s raking it in while I’m left singing in a female barber shop quartet trying to make ends meet.

Then the call of my life comes in.
I’m booked for real studio time.
I show up... and I’m supposed to sing backing vocals for Filthy Line.

Which means I’m in the f*ckin studio with Reed.

Mr. cocky rocky kiss my 'you know what' if he thinks he can smooth his way with me... think again.
I’m not some groupie.
I’m trying to make a name for myself.

Yet he won’t leave me alone.
Forget about the smoldering look in his eyes.
Forget about what he does when he finds out what I do for a living.

This rock star is on my tail and next thing I know my greatest enemy wants me between the sheets.

Hey, maybe this can work out... or maybe I’ll finally get a chance to give him a taste of his own medicine...

Filthy Line Reed...where do I start? How do I begin?
Definitely another manwhore and douchebag that’s for sure! Not unexpected since he is a rockstar and is living/breathing the cliche life you would expect. But one thing I didn’t expect to see/learn straight off the bat is he has a heart and is (at times) vulnerable. Something he wasn’t afraid to admit, unlike the other guys.
It makes you connect to Reed in a way you don’t with the others and makes you realise that he doesn’t care if it makes him look like a p*ssy.
Abby...I didn’t know what to expect when it came to her, but straight away I knew she was awesome. Doing the things she does, in order to make it. Not caring how embarrassing and bad it is. And taking no sh*t from anyone, when it came a few situations. Proving yet another badass woman is here! She definitely wore her heart on her sleeve (once), when it came to Reed which you can tell from her interactions with him. But not anymore, having learnt from her mistakes.
Duel POV book (from the FILTHY LINE series), but this time from Reed and Abby. I loved it! Always being able to see both characters perspectives in terms of emotions, thoughts and feelings in the same situations as well as their personal lives helps bring the story to life even more.
This story had it all, the inside perspective into the rock and roll lifestyle, the behind scenes of making/recording music, the nitty gritty of it all (even if some of it seemed exaggerated and a little unrealistic) as always and that fame isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Especially when it comes knowing or not knowing if someone is using you for your fame.
Another great rockstar romance read! So, if you love rockstar romances, a manwhore douchebag rockstar lead and a doesn’t give a crap strong woman, then look no further because this is the book for you!

OMG!! This book is holy hotness..

We have badass Reed, a member of Filthy Line and Abby a talented, heartbroken singer and these two together are the epitome of love and hate. It's a journey of ups and downs, a hell of alot of rock n roll excess that's a hell of a love story because who doesn't love a great love story with a healthy dose of hot sex!! The opening chapter, man that's off the charts awesome.. I loved it, love the entire book. You will love Reed, hate him, wanna do him but most of all you will root hard for Reed and Abby!! Another off the charts awesome read by none other than Jaxson Kidman!! I'm telling you read this it's worth it!!

Amazing rrad

I absolutely loved Reed and Abby. The raw emotions and hurt they each felt tore me up. But in the end it was perfect. You never disappoint Jaxson. You are incredibly talented. Looking forward to the next book.

Disappointing

For a lead female character who is supposed to be afraid of her past, she stays drunk, makes bad decisions is always a damsel in distress. I’m kind of shocked. Had to force myself to read to the middle and I question if the rest of the series will even be worth my time. Advice, research. Abby was stranded, had to get her shit together to support herself and after meeting back up with the guy who kicked her out and put her in peril, the author has her running back to him, pathetically.

At least the cover was worth the purchase.

This author can write a raunchy rockstar but they are so awful you really feel bad for the woman at the end. The rockstar is like a dirty ashtray and more disgusting butts (literal human) keep piling up. You feel dirty for having read this story.
He left her on the side of the road in middle of no where at night. Threw her clothes out the window. He couldn't apologize years later although he continues sex with her. He's disgusting.

A Filthy Enemy is about Reed and Abby

Reed is a crazy ass rock star. He lives up to his bad boy image. Screws everything in sight. Even managed to screw up the one relationship that actually meant something. Now she hates him with a passion.. He became famous and she was left with nothing. But that is just the beginning of their story. This is book 3 in The Filthy Line Series by Jaxson Kidman. Great series.

Not as impressed with this one as I was with the first two. Reed is a d*ck and I'm not sure why Abby just forgave him like that. Don't get me wrong, I was expecting the happily ever after, but she needed to make him work for it not just roll over and open her legs. He made her life hell and a simple 'I'm sorry' and all was forgiven. Nope!

☑️ miscommunication/misunderstanding trope

⚠️ there’s more sex with OW than the actual heroine

So we’re back to 2.5 stars, and most of those stars are for the back story and the ending. This one is full of plot holes, repetition of words and OW sex but without the humor Dex’s book had.

Reed is my least favorite character after Jay, this book has more sex with OW than even Nashes book did, yup it’s true. He’s still messing around with naked women at 86%. The only reason he doesn’t sleep with them is bc he passed out, I guess that’s supposed to…I don’t know what.

Reed is a supreme asshole for most of the book until JAY of all people tells Reed that Abby loves him (but only after Jay accuses her of sleeping with Reed for a paycheck). Even though Abby herself told him just the night before. It must have slipped his mind between the strippers.

I find it very strange when Abby becomes a backup singer that there’s no conversations between her and the band, they were on a tour bus together and Jay hit on her. This book had a lot of filler, with roommates, friends and clients. We didn’t get much Reed/Abby time unless it was a fight or sex. The ending was cute, but everything was resolved too quickly.

Additional Notes:

* why do we never get character descriptions! I know one of the line whores has brown eyes, and another has blond curls. So much description of the whores but I don’t know what the MCs look like.
* double standard, the guys sleep with everyone, the heroine’s never actually sleep with anyone else, the H always steps in 🙄

Why am I still reading this. I don’t know lol. I guess Dex’s book gave me hope.

“My mind ran back to when I stood at the open bus door and waved as she sat her ass on the side of the road. That’s where it all ended. And it was supposed to stay that way.”

The wisely named members of a Filthy Line are dirty and unapologetic. Living life for today, with no consideration of the consequences of their actions. This author is in his element, when creating rough around the edge characters who have a story to tell. I found myself cringing at some of their antics and then I found myself empathetic to their sensitive sides.

Reed does a double take when he sees Abby standing on a street corner. Last time he saw her she was sitting on the side of the road as he drove off with the tour bus. His band is releasing a new song which is heading in a new direction and Abby unknowingly auditions as a backup singer. Reed tries to overlook her but the rest of the band want her. His reaction is to flaunt his endless stream of pussy, as he tries to bury his feelings for her.

Abby loved Reed until he kicked her off the tour bus and her life took a nose dive. Now she blames and hates him for leaving her on a highway in the middle of nowhere. She’s found some friends who share their love of singing, so they work together singing at events. Abby has secrets she has never revealed to anyone, now she has been thrown back into the mix of Filthy Lines craziness she is going to have to open up and face them head on.

Abby's dream of being a singer almost ended the day she was kicked off the Filthy Line tour bus. A temporary set back is all. Now she's performing for the richest, most spoiled children and business people as part of a quartet. It's not as glamorous as it sounds, obviously, but it pays the bills...sort of. Being kicked off the bus by Reed was definitely a low point in her life. Reed is the bad boy, man whore bass player for Filthy Line. If Abby never saw him again, it would be too soon. Never say never.
Reed is flying high being the rock god that he is. He has the Line Whores if he gets lonely and the adoration of millions of fans.
Abby is running from the past trying to make ends meet. That fateful day, on the bus, sent her life spinning. She's talented but she won't compromise herself again, even if it means passing up the opportunity of a lifetime.
Reed and Abby had a history that was slowly creeping into their present and possibly their future. That was something neither needed, let alone wanted, and they were both prepared to fight tooth and nail to keep it that way.
WOW ! OH MY GOD ! ! REALLY ! ! ! THESE GUYS ARE SO FULL OF THEMSELVES....I LOVE IT ! ! ! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEM ! I REALLY HATED REED, BUT, WELL YOU'LL SEE. ABBY WAS AWESOME AND KICK @$$ ! LOVE THESE FILTHY GUYS AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE ! ! !

There is nothing I hate more than a weak doormat FMC. I love a good rockstar romance and don’t care how bad the rockstar was before he met h. However he left her on the side of the road. He is trash and she continues to sleep with him will he brags about how many other women he is messing with. I read Jays book in this series and thought I’d give another one a chance. I was even more disappointed in this book. There was nothing redeemable about H. He was messing around with other women until the second to last chapter in the book and then his idea of making things right is to tell her he was doing lines off 2 women the night before and she could keep hating him because the hate sex would be great?! She then tells him she loves him and goes running back to him? I don’t think this series or author is my cup of tea. 🙄

A FILTHY ENEMY (Filthy Line Book #3) By Jaxson Kidman
This is the 3rd book in the Filthy Line series, and it is an enjoyable ride. These guys from Filthy Line are living the sex, drugs, rock & roll life. No one anymore than bassist, Reed. Reed and Abby have had a love/hate relationship that has went on for a long time. For the last while and currently they are in hate mode. She blames him for the start of all her life’s problems when he dumped her out on the road. When they are unexpectedly tossed into working together, they are determined to hurt each other as much as possible and make each other jealous. Jaxson Kidman has a real gift with being able to draw you into the lives of his characters. This is a 5 star read.

I loved the way Abbey punched Reed in the mouth because I totally felt the need to run over him with a Mack truck. To say this man is a cocky rock star is putting it mildly, he really was no better then Ven. I found Reed annoying and nasty. Abbey was no better then a doormat who kept falling into his bed and could so easily forget how he treated her it could make your head spin. Seriously Jax a little spine would have been nice. I was pissed on Abbeys behalf the entire book but I did finish it and managed not to kill the dog when I flung the Kindle. So far the only guy that seems ok in this band is the singer, the rest talk and act like lowlife. Every time Reed called Abbey honey I wanted to punch him in the face, I found it that annoying.

Hate to Love

After reading the blurb to this book I had mixed feelings if I would enjoy Reed and Abbie’s story. I thought I would really dislike Reed for the way he behaved, is he an ass..... yes, is he a man who’re.... absolutely but like he says throughout this book he’s a f....ing Rockstar and we all know they think they can do as they please. But there is another side to him he has a heart and isn’t afraid to show it. As for Abby she is one Badass lady and can hold her own she survived a lot since Reed trough her of the bus that night. I don’t want to give away to much but this is a must read book a page turner and another Phenomenal book by this amazing author it is worth 5***** and more

The blurp for the book actually says Mr Cocky Rocky. But if that suggests a fun and frivolous read, then you’ll be disappointed.

I started off liking the book more than expected. Abby seemed interesting. It sounded like there were some dark secrets that will add layers and intrigue to her character.

But then it turns into a drawn out sex and hate fest. They don’t talk or face their problems. They fight, have sex, humiliate and belittle each other, yell, hate, sex, rinse, repeat. They repeated this so much, that it started to feel like I was stuck in boring sex and yell hell.

Reed’s debauchery is so bad, it too becomes boring.

The story ultimately lacked humour, personality and a story.

But will I read the rest? Of course I will! I love the author and the rockstars.

To me Reed is a love to hate, and hate to love kind of guy. He is loving life as a rock god, always full of himself, with his line whores, drink, music and fans. Abby is doing what it takes to get through life after running from past mistakes. She is a badass, feisty and refuses to take s*#t from anyone. These two have a history, which is now bringing them back into each other’s lives, wether they want it or not. Jaxson Kidman tells it like it is, the good, the bad and the outrageous. If you love Rockstars, then this is the book for you. I cannot wait to get Filthy again with the next book in the series.

Hot lover!

Reed is the bassist for Filthy Line and he can get what he wants and who he wants! I'm a quirk of fate he's reunited with Abby, a woman he had a relationship with before the band became famous! Their relationship is now fueled on hate and when Abby gets a job singing on a track, their relationship takes a turn! This book was too intriguing and addictive to put down. Why did they hate each other? How would they end? A great read that's worth more than 5 stars! Jaxson definitely have us a hot and heady read with this one!

Rockin hit!!! Amazing!!

Once again Jaxson has written another phenomenal book. These two have such love for each other and don't know how to show it. So they lash out at each other. You can feel the heat burning the pages. I love the banter between Reed and Abby. If you like a great rockstar romance this is the book for you. You will feel as if you are actually apart of everything going on. You will laugh, get frustrated at times, smile, and possibly even cry. Bravo Jaxson on another AMAZING book. I LOVED IT!!!

Amazing instalment in this series.

This is the 3rd instalment in this series and my favourite. I love Reed and Abby's story. Abby is strong minded and stands up for herself and her dreams. These guys party hard in the band, but when the right woman comes along they know the party is over! More outstanding storytelling from this author, but that is the quality we have come to expect from Jaxson Kidman and why I always 1-click on release day. Congratulations...This is my favourite👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another great read in the Filthy Line series!!

This back and forth with Reed and Abby was crazy good!

Reed looked deadly sexy.
He was the epitome of hungover rock star but it looked so good on him.

This story was told in both Reed and Abby's POV which I really enjoyed!

Thinking wasn't a good thing for me.
Thinking led to decisions.
And decisions led to my life changing.
I wasn't going to let Abby change my life again.
But maybe it was already too late for that.

Start this series with book one, A Filthy Rock Star. You won't be disappointed.

I really, really liked this one more than I did the first two. There was an actual backstory between the two main characters. They had history, the bad kind, and when life threw them back together there were all kinds of fireworks and dynamite going off. I felt like their story had a little more substance, and the fact that it was on the short side didn’t affect my opinion of it as much as with the other ones. They actually built their new relationship on the ashes of what they previously had, and I loved that.

I hated this book. Yes I felt like I needed a shower every time I picked it up but the reason I hated it-- the game the characters were playing with the readers ... we have a big secret... something happened a long time ago... we will hint at it but not explain it ..wink, wink, nudge, nudge

Ok I love a good mystery in the plot as well as the next person but since it seemed to be constant and sacrificed character and plot development to maintain the big secret it changed from a curiosity to an annoyance and went my annoyance got loud enough I abandoned the book and the author.

Reed and Abby

Reed is a rock star using everything he can to forget Abby. Abby is just getting by. When the fates decide to intervene, stuff gets real. The past collides with the present; sparks fly in all directions! They have been enemies for a reason. But they are so much more. Reed is stubborn and hot! Their chemistry off the charts! Filthy Line is an awesome series! Love this author!

Denial On Love

Abby is a singer and wants to make it on her own. She meets Reed and things are going along. Reed is in a band and the band is taking off.
Reed looks at Abby phone and thinks she's using him. He dumps her on the side of the road.
Abby is singing with her friends. She then gets offer to audition to sing backup. It's Reed band Filthy Line. The fireworks start will they work it out?
Jaxson does it again...another rollercoaster ride.

People with grudges

If someone left you on the side of the road for no reason, would you even consider talking to them again? No way! But in Reed’s story readers discover a heart buried under all his bravado. Abbey turns him upside down only to discover that organ still beats inside his chest and it races when she’s near.
I enjoyed Reed’s story. Bass players really are a breed of their own!

There is just something about how Jaxson Kidman writes that pulls you in and has you rooting for an unloveable rock star. Reed was really an a** to Abby, leaving her on the side of the road, and I wanted to hate him. But Jaxson pulls it all together for us by the end of the story and somehow I ended up loving Reed!

Holy SH!T!

I devoured this book in one sitting, jaxson Kidman writes the hell out of rockstar romance. I have loved filthy line since Nash and liv and they literally just keep getting better and better.
I wish there was an epilogue to show how far Abby makes it. I really hope Jess gets a book too she deserves it, even a novella? Ven and Jess? I’m 1000% here for it.

Phenomenal Read

This is the 3rd book in the Filthy Line series. Each one gets better. This one is of Reed the rockstar and Abby the girl he threw off the bus. This is a phenomenal read that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can. Jaxson Kidman has not disappointed with this one. I recommend this book and series to anyone looking for a great read
