Picking up right where Artful Lies left off, Wicked Truths brings us the conclusion to Becker and Eleanor’s story. And I’ve mixed feelings because whilst I was absolutely pulled into their world, all the set-up and intrigue from the first book felt a bit wasted.

description I’ve made my choice. I love him, and his wicked truths can’t change that.”

What we got was a merry-go-round of bickering, arse slapping and make-up-sex with a few revelations sprinkled in along the way. And that’s fine, I generally go into this author’s books knowing there’s going to be no shortage of that, all her couples bring it in some way or another and Becker is, for me, one of her better leading men, but there was a storyline here that had huge potential and could have been the thrilling ride it was billed if what had occurred in the last 20% had been given more focus, development and page-time earlier over aspects that just seemed irrelevant overall.

Without question an easy read, I just hoped for more.

Adorable!

I just loved reading this!
I still love the setting and the whole feeling of the story.
London. The scary dark alley to get to the shop. The beauty inside of it. Eleanor's hometown. The pub. Her mom. The two oldsters in The Haven. The dog. The apples. The art. The cars. The arguing. The sexy times. All the mystery and danger....
Just beautiful.

This second book was just as great as the first.
But for my tastes it moved along a tiny bit slower than I was hoping for.
It's all so sweet and erotic and artsy and funny. And of course we have mystery and suspense and excitement and lies and untruths and whatnot. But I think the book was a tiny bit too long. Or rather, the long stretches were a bit too uneventful for my tastes today. I wanted more action. More artsy danger and excitement. I wanted something to happen with her dad's old shop. I wanted there to be a hidden map or treasure and some more mystery, some connection to the Hunts. Maybe her dad wasn't as boring as she thought he was - something like that.
BUT - that doesn't mean that I didn't love reading this. I really loved it!
I just adore Eleanor and Becker!!
They're so perfect for each other. But there's still some stuff to work through and overcome until we can ride off into that happily ever after sunset!

This was an amazing duet. I loved reading it. Period.

I also still need this to show up on Netflix one day soon! ☺

WiCKED TRUTHS was a beautiful & funny & adorable & exciting & sexy & antique-y/arts-y love story! I loved it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Becker - this one is MINE!

What can I say about Becker Hunt...Arrogant, panty dropping, bum smacking, treasuring loving but he just met his match in the sexy, fire invoking, sassy read head Eleanore who is just as passionate about art as he is. Eleanore knows her Art and history.

Wicked Truth starts where it ended Eleanore leaving when she finds out it was Becker who had broke into her apartment. Home bound is where she goes, however Becker boy wasn't let his princess leave him like that. Eleanore uses the time to clean out her father's store and catch up with her mother only to find out surprising news about her mother. Becker the alpha male that he is convince/drags Eleanore kicking & screaming back to London (not really) Eleanore realized no matter what she loved Becker and it didn't matter what he did, she couldn't leave him but Becker now has to admit his Wicked Truth to Eleanore so he leaves clues for her because he wants to bare it all to her and protect her at all cost. The Art world is devious and unforgiven but has he just showed his enemies how vulnerable he is by exposing Eleanore to his world can he protect the one woman he has ever love and keep doing what runs through his veins and family legacy.

Fantastic conclusion to Artful Lies!

Oh my goodness, what an epic read. I thought I had this story all figured out ...boy was I wrong! What a masterpiece!

Wicked Truths picks up where Artful Lies ended. And damn, you are thrown straight into it, the angsts between a certain trio is bouncing off the walls!
There are so many “wicked truths” to be revealed throughout this book, so I’m not going to say anything in this review, as to the direction Wicked Truths takes you on. What I will say, this is a story full of mystery, intrigue, twists and turns, good humour, and of course, a whole lot of love ...steamy, arse spanking love! God I love Becker Boy. He certainly as some cocky and hilarious one liners!

...”Abra-Fucking-Cadabra” ... “Good-Fucking-Morning” ... “Stop Looking At My Arse”. To mention a few, lol.

Becker and Eleanor, have got to be one of my favourite JEM couples. They are so well suited. Becker is, as ever, a cocky, egotistical “master” in his own domain of antiques ...and Eleanor. He’s like a sexy, Indiana Jones lol. We also get to see a softer, more emotional side to Becker in this book, regarding his torments, his family and Eleanor.
Eleanor, gives as good as she gets with Becker, she’s never holds back, and at times, certainly puts him in his place. She wears her heart on her sleeve, never hides her thoughts and feeling regarding Becker. She’s sassy and strong, and at times is the stronger of their relationship. Becker certainly lays plenty on Eleanor, to digest.
Their story is truly epic, with some super steamy scenes between them, too.

Malpas, is the Queen of secondary characters, and The Hunt Legacy Duet is no exception. You will fall hard for them too, especially, Gramps, Mrs Potts and Winston.
Her best friend, Lucy is a wild one, funny too, loved her.

This is a superbly written book. It is clear to see that Jodi Ellen Malpas, certainly did her research regarding the history and knowledge of the antiques and places mention throughout this duet. I applaud her for that, it’s the small things in a book that makes it an all round, amazing reading experience.

Some books can be quite predictable, and I think it gets more and more difficult for an Author to come up with originality in their stories. One thing is guaranteed when reading a book by this author, your get originality, and her stories are so UN-predictable!

This is a thriller of a conclusion!
Five stars, just isn’t enough!
Bravo Jodi Ellen Malpas.

PERFECTION! Honestly I didn't think the story or the characters could get any better but Jodi outdid herself. This was a masterpiece, a true work of art. I love art and art history, so to say I enjoyed the setting of the story would be an understatement. The storyline picks up right away and it's eventful from the first pages. This is definitely Jodi's most adventurous book yet thanks to the mysterious settings in the world of art and art history. I swear there is not one dull moment in Wicked Truths - it's all passion, love and action.

When it comes to the characters, I was blown away. Becker really is one of the most brilliant characters ever. It was so much fun getting more and more inside his head. He is super swoony, totally lovable and in many moments he was almost...playful? He definitely pushed Jesse from his spot as my second favorite alpha and is now battling with Miller for the first spot. I'll let you know after I re-read it again lol. I also love Eleanor because she is fierce and loyal and overall a wonderful character. To me, it seemed as if she blossomed into who she was always meant to be under Becker's love and care. Together, they are quite the pair! Can't get enough of them.

I absolutely LOVE it. Wicked Truths goes beyond sexy romance - it's much more! There were shocking moments and revelation until the very last page, not even kidding. Can I rate this book with thousands of stars please?

You have to read Artful Lies first as this is a duet.

2.5-3 ⭐'s

“Best stupid move I’ve ever made.”

I'm so disappointed in this book and especially with Becker. He didn't turn out the way I was hoping...plain and simple.

Hands down to Eleanor though. She really tried to be there for Becker and be his true match. I just think that Becker has gotten his way for far too long.

And this book goes on for far too long with the Indian Jones adventures. We find out a lot about Becker's family...some things endearing and some not.

Becker is just so frustrating. He's so manipulating and a liar. I just couldn't get past it. The ending makes you think that he's changed but then there was the epilogue. UGH!

The story was entertaining. I like many of the secondary characters. Winston was a hoot! However, the sex scenes were too similar and the spankings too over the top.

Oh well, maybe next time.

HOLY MOLY that was so good! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hunt Legacy Duology was one of my most highly anticipated books of this year.
I just couldn’t get enough of Eleanor and Becket.

BECKER is so mysterious, sexy, and such an alpha that has me addicted to this storyline. A storyline full of art, explosive chemistry, and surprising twists and turns….

Jodi’s writing is consuming and will have you feeling so many emotions all at once. You just can not go wrong!
It’s so delicious!! And the end…the end!

The appearance of too many ow ruined the whole effing book for me.
Our amazing hero had almost slept with every young female character that was introduced in the book👏. Kudos to the author for writing such an original hero! After all writing a hero who has slept with half of London's women population is peak of creativity...
Someone please tell me how Eleanor managed to remain sane after meeting so many of her boyfriend's conquests cause if I had been her I would have sunk into a hole of insecurity and jealousy.

I think J.E.M has also mastered the art of making her heroines utterly exasperating. As usual Eleanor infuriated me beyond words.

I’m still literally buzzing from finishing the epic conclusion to Becker and Eleanors story.
Wicked Truths is a full on adventure including passion, mystery, mind games, love, lip wobbles and plenty of spankings.

I don’t want to give too much away, but Becker has completely stolen my heart. He is such a diverse character and not worried about showing his vulnerabilities which was very endearing to see. He’s an absolute genius too!

Eleanor too is such a strong feisty woman, absolutely loved her. Plus the added bonus of wonderful secondary characters such as Mr H, Mrs Potts and of course Winston, it’s been a pleasure to be a part of the Hunts Circle Of Trust.

What an exhilarating conclusion to Becker and Elenor’s story.
You won’t be able to wipe the smile on my face because I LOVED Wicked Truths. I absolutely die for the angst and the intense chemistry between characters in JEM’s books. Becker and Elenor are no different.
I feel like swooning even with simple yet intense and impactful lines like when Hunt said,
‘What I want,’ he murmurs quietly but surely, ‘is standing six feet away pretending she doesn’t want me.’

I mean come on! You can feel the tension in the air!

Becker Hunt ruined me. He is so far from perfect but damn does he make my heart pound with a riot of emotions.
I am obsessed with the Hunts! They are mysterious and they definitely kept me on my toes. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the whole modern treasure hunter vibe this book had. Add to it the wicked chemistry between Becker and Elenor is just the icing on the cake. This book made me fall more in love with these two…
Wicked truths by Jodi Ellen Malpas exudes power and it’s almost unrelenting with it’s fascinating storyline.
Wicket truths is adventurous, thrilling, heartwarming, sexy as sin and wickedly bewitching.

JEM has written another smashing book in my opinion and I for one, cannot wait for more.

Well, this was quite disappointing if I'm honest. I expected so much more from it.

I wanted a love story here. We all know the first book ends in a way that made you grip your chair in frustration and we all wanted answers.

But this book ... There was so much of stupid and unnecessary drama and too much of ass spanking (and talk about ass spanking). I kind of liked Becker in the first book, but I strongly disliked him in this book because
1. he's an idiot
2. he was being secretive and hiding things from Eleanor, even when she begs him to be truthful and open with her if he loves and trusts her
3. his 'shut the fuck ups' towards Eleanor made me want to slap him across the face because that was not cute. At all.
4. being super friendly with other females in front of Eleanor and teasing her for it when she mentioned it.

And then we have Eleanor. Always the forgiving one. No matter how many times Becker messes up (it's a lot, by the way) and no matter how hugely he messes up (and, believe me, some of his mistakes are enormous).

Loved it! A great conclusion to a great series. I devoured this book today. I was a little worried going into this because of how the last book ended. I am not a fan of books that keep the angst level high for the couple or keep them separated for the majority of the book. I was happy there was very low angst from that standpoint.

Becker, I love him. Seriously, Jodi Ellen Malpas knows how to write an alpha male. He hits all the marks. I loved watching him continuously fighting for Eleanor. Eleanor is his equal match. She gave just as much as he did and she fought for Becker as well.

The epilogue was amazing and was exactly the conclusion I love getting at the end of the book. I'm sad to see them go, but this was a great way for them to go.

Wicked Truths by Jodi Ellen Malpas is book 2 in the Becker Hunt series, who would of guessed the art world could be so hot and exciting??
This book has every Jodi Ellen Malpas ingredient from the hot dominant alpha male, plenty of steam, the gives as good as she gets woman and the twisted but fabulous happy ever after, but like every other book the storyline is one of its own, it's fast paced, it pulls you whilst leaving you intrigued and needing more.
If a sweet romance is what your looking this isn't it , if twisted fun, full of naughtiness, also a little dark and excitement is the romance you want then read this or anything by this author you won't be disappointed 📖

Wicked Truths in the follow up to Artful Lies, a story centred around Becker Hunt an Arts and Antiquities dealer and Eleanor his assistant. This book continues on from where the cliff hanger from book 1 ended and picks right up with Eleanor running from London back to her home town, the comfort of her Dad's shop and her Mother's hugs. The story started off well and the push and pull between Becker & Eleanor was ever present, unfortunately that didn't sustain after the first section of the book.

The story arc had so much potential with fantastic secondary characters in Mrs Potts, Mr H, Winston and even Brent amongst others there was a promise of some great twists to come. However the pacing was stilted so much that it all just lost it's effect and impact on me. I found the plot didn't progress and was very stop/start, sex scenes felt like they were peppered every other scene and didn't add anything to the story for a fair chunk of the book, giving it a very repetitive feel for me. I also felt that a couple of storylines were never explained and just forgotten about and a couple of elements I thought would hold significance due to that numbers of times they were brought up, turned out to hold no relevance at all. The final blow to my rating on this book came with the ending I can't explain in detail without spoilers; but it was anticlimactic and I was not happy with the actions Becker took and the way Eleanor responded to them.

Now all the that is out of the way I want to end my review on what I did like. Becker, oh Becker, he is such a charmer, he is cocky and has that swagger, the intellect and charisma I adore in a leading man. There were some amazing scenes in this book and not all were grand gestures. The moments I loved most were scenes he was understated, stood eating an apple with that cocky smirk on his face waiting for the puzzle pieces to fall into place for Eleanor. The first time the really made love was a special moment and the vulnerability shown was heartfelt. A game that Becker sets up for Eleanor in his Haven was such a visual scene in my head as I read it and the sexual tension in that part was electric! Then to the moment he chooses dresses for her in the showing gallery to Eleanor taking his car out or not so much as the case may be, were just a few of the highlights as I read Wicked Truths.

Overall I did enjoy the book, I would just say the pacing let it down and did not hold my attention. There were lots of superfluous moments that didn't add to the story that if edited out would have improved the flow of the story and I think for me personally this would have made all the difference. I really did struggle to rate this one because I didn't dislike it, but I didn't love it either. I am sorry to say it's not a book I will go back to but I do think it would adapt very well to screen. The Hunt Legacy Duet started off strong and just fizzled out and left me wanting I'm afraid.

Jodi has continued the riveting relationship of Eleanor Cole and Becker Hunt in book 2 skillfully. It becomes more captivating, more enthralling and more dramatic with the unfurling of the curtains from the Artful Lies. Becker is an art dealer but he becomes Art himself. Secretive, mysterious and full of surprises.
Eleanor at the outset is determined to stand her ground.... Or at least unsuccessfully tries to!
"Eleanor Cole has changed. Eleanor Cole won’t stand any shit any more. Eleanor Cole has fire in her belly."
But *sigh* the bespectacled, sexy Artist is hard to turn down or shake off. Now that Becker knows what he wants, he goes after it all guns blazing. I love that in an Alpha, who just won't give up and Jodi has given us a string of these, from Jesse (#OhMyLord) to Becker, the Green Apple Muncher.

description

There's something so adorable about Becker, even with his truck full of secrets that I had a hard time focusing on something else other than his jade green swoony eyes. He had me spellbound.
‘Like every corner you turn is a surprise?’ he murmurs, swallowing. ‘Like you can’t figure out if each step is an exciting stumble or a petrifying stagger?’
Omg... No wonder Eleanor is a puddle in front of him,I'd be kneeling before you could say Princess *swoooon*
The story has picked up pace, things are happening in the art world, rivals are chasing around, out bidding and out smarting eahother .. It's a fantastic game of cat & mouse that holds your attention all the way till the end where Jodi pulls away the ground beneath my feet😮
But wait THERE'S MORE..!!!!!!!!!

description

"Don’t find your way out of my maze just yet, princess. We’re not done."
Becker Hunt STOLE my breath, STOLE my Heart and STOLE everything else, what a character!!!
The chemistry between Eleanor and Becker is off the charts hot, they discover latent feelings that are hard to control on both sides and it's like taking a plunge in the unknown
" ‘Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.’ My world might have stopped spinning, but my head is making up for it. I’m dizzy. I can’t see, can’t breathe, can’t form a coherent sentence. I feel like I’m suffocating. My hand grapples at my neck and my body rolls with waves of panic. "

description

Jodi builds up the anticipation like a thumping adrenaline rush, I held my breath as the secrets tumbled out and all is displayed in front of me
A veritable wall moved and I could see behind it all...it had me shocked, stunned but all the more in love with the Wicked Sinner, oh so delicious Becker Hunt who's the Master Illusionist!!

“‘You coming in, or are you just gonna hover on the edge of my Garden of Eden?’”

Full review (if u can call it review) for the duet.
Because I don’t have energy to write a goddamn review and fangirling, what’s happening to me?

Well, nothing new.
Characters we are used to with heroine is less annoying n hero is less twisted.
Plot we are used to, almost.
Mysteries and bad guys we are used to.
Still so good. Almost.
We are all WRONG here.

In JEM’s books, most common thing is you feel like nothing is happening (expect lots of sex and meanwhile push and pull) but in a flash you are like “WOA WTF”.

“‘What I want,’ he murmurs quietly but surely, ‘is standing six feet away pretending she doesn’t want me.’”

I love it but I wanted to love more. However, felt like lack of shits that I can’t put into words.
I’m glad it’s a duet, but still could be a standalone (a bit longer than usual). Lots of “couple scenes” going on actually, which is good and what I prefer but UGH! I really don’t know why I’m so negative, don't take me seriously. JEM is one of my favorite authors so I want her books to be perfect bc this is what they are, with all their flaws :(

I LOVELOVELOVED how Malpas described and picturized places- imagery was amazing. Cuz without those, the story would have made one feel hollow that’s for sure.

“‘Mine,’ he growls, beginning to rub some life back into my burning flesh. ‘If everyone remembers that, then no one will get hurt.’ He pushes his lips to my temple and breathes through his kiss, caging me in from behind … ‘I love you,’ he says clearly, softly, a million miles away from the threat of his voice a minute ago.”

I need to saved by Becker Hunt...

It's okay.
The book starts where book 1 ended.
They get things sorted quite quickly, even get the I love yous.
Hero is inexperienced with a serious relationship so flirting and other woman drama.
He doesn't encourage it but doesn't see his charm has another effect on women.
It felt a bit long.
Had what felt like some unnecessary drama involving the flat mate pal the heroine has and her man.
HEA.

A Book that tops all other books I have read.

I felt like a kid at Christmas seeing this hit my inbox and the excitement just couldn't be contained from the second I opened the book and read the first page the world around me began moving in slow motion and everything seemed inconsequential.

It's a book that makes you feel from the second you start to the very end, a book you can't wait to get into and a book that once in your trapped and you never want to get out of. Everything I ever expected got blown out of the window because this book is a master of all masters. A book that is in its very own league because amazing, incredible and all words that could describe just how good this book is just arent good enough to explain the pure beauty of this masterpiece.

Every single character within this book is exceptional and I mean every single one. I have laughed cried felt anxious and all in good ways trust me My heart has been taken over not just by Becker (although I seriously wish I was Eleanor) but every person I come across throughout reading this entire novel.
I could cry now that I have finished reading it but immediately want to dive back in under the Hunt spell, never to come out the other side. This book literally has you seconded guessing everything you thought would happen after artful lies and never stops there wasn't one point throughout reading that made me want to stop reading not even to eat. You get so emersed in their world that you feel like its unfolding in front of you like your a fly on the wall or for me like my eyes, heart and soul were Eleanors. This book never stops not once and to be honest I can't find the words to say how much I loved it and Truthfully I have never read a book like it, neither do I think that I ever will because this book has set the bar to the highest point for every book to be read after or before it.

Jodi Ellen Malpas you are a genius and an absolute master at your craft. Thank you for allowing me the chance to read this ARC it truly is a work of art but mostly Thank you for allowing me into the haven and the Hunt Legacy. I feel like you and the Hunts saved me when I needed saving the most.

When I tell you I BINGED. I neglected my husband and children for nearly 2 days in order to find out the rest to this beauty. I regret nothing. “Holy Hell. Holy Hell. Holy Hell.” My mantra while reading Wicked Truths. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, you get pulled into another unspeakable revelation. Jodi Ellen Malpas truly is a gift to our genre. The love story of Becker and Eleanor is a tale that keeps on surprising you and makes your heart best right out of your chest. The bond they form as Becker’s Wicked Truths begin to spill is just...unbreakable.

This is a story of loyalty and betrayal, all in the same breath. But as the story unfolds, all of the pieces come together. The mystery. The suspense. The passion. The trust. It. All. Makes. Sense. And you love Becker Hunt that much for it.

And that ending! How upsetting! Not because of how it ended, but BECAUSE it ended. Even the epilogue has you picking your jaw up from the floor. This whirlwind tale could have gone on forever and I would still be in awe. It was breathtaking. Just breathtaking. Becker and Eleanor take you on a trip for the times. One to tell the grandkids as their legacy lives on through the years and through their incredible story. Thank you for this treasure!

After the epic and shocking ending of Artful Lies, we dive straight back into this mysterious world. Eleanor Cole knows her boss Becker Hunt has secrets but what is the full picture of his deception. This book was absolutely amazing. It was a constant uncovering of truths and who done it. I wasn’t sure how Jodi was going to outdo the last book, but this conclusion to this duality is a masterpiece. I absolutely loved it! All the stars!!!

Wicked Truths picks up right where things were left hanging in Artful Lies and I have been DYING for the conclusion of Becker and Eleanor’s story.

Throughout this story I fell more in love with Becker. He still has his alpha side, but also throughout this story a sweet side of him comes out. He is also a man of many, many secrets and I was dying to know them all. I also continued to love Eleanor. She is a fighter and she is full of sass. I loved that she wouldn’t give up on Becker or let him get away with hiding secrets from her. Their chemistry continued to grow stronger and stronger. This between them are explosive!

Wicked Truths is full of twists and turns, drama, suspense, steam and a whole lot of adventure. The continuation of Becker and Eleanor’s story will take you on one wild ride and is a MUST READ!

Are you a JEM alpha addict? Are you an alpha addict any way? Then Wicked Truths by Jodi Ellen Malpas is a must read story for you. It was a colourful and dramatic journey of that special kind of love.

Wicked Truths is the second book of Hunt duology and picks up right where Jodi Ellen Malpas left us. With the shocking revelation of Hunt Corporation's CEO Becker Hunt's true nature. And Elenor Cole, his new obsession has run away. But not for long. And she enters deep into Becker's dangerous world, she continuously questions herself if she can really love this man with many faces.

So the best part of the story was Becker Hunt. Undoubtedly. He has that charismatic formidable presence that fills my senses whenever he enters a scene. I can feel his power, dominance and possessiveness right through the pages. He has a dark edgy vibe and a broken but sweet heart. He has many secrets and I kept on wondering if Eleanor can ever finish finding them all. Eleanor struggled adjusting with this action filled life and overwhelming love. But she has enough sass and strength to make even the great Becker Hunt go crazy. The story takes us through the lush, corrupt, extravagant, action packed world of the rich and the wicked. They have an amazing chemistry that's completely swoonworthy and mesmerising and uber sexy. This was definitely one of the sexiest stories JEM has written.

Having said that, I didn't love this story as much as I did the first book. May be my expectations were too high. Halfway through the book I was a bit lost and distracted. A lot of things were happening outside the main story. Specially with Elenor's best friend Lucy. I expected Eleanor to be a little more shocked with so many secrets. The story lost that impact of tension and drama somewhere.

Wicked Truths by Jodi Ellen Malpas was a steamy and soulful journey of all consuming love. Becker Hunt is giving a tough competition to my all time favourite Jesse Ward and that is not a simple feat.
