Harper Flynn is tired. Tired of taking care of her alcoholic mom. Tired of online dating and the disastrous dates. Mostly, she's tired of her recent dry spell. After a night of taking care of herself, her best friend and roommate not only makes her aware he heard her, but also offers to help her out. Never looking at Milo as more than a friend, his suggestion opens her eyes to the possibilities, and she goes for it. Except...he had been kidding.
Milo Amato has had his heart broken one too many times and now refuses to do no strings attached relationships. Ever. When he suggests it to his best friend, he never dreamed she would take it seriously. He was joking around with her. Or was he? Now that she's kissed him, and feelings he thought he squashed in high school resurface, he battles between what his heart and body want and what they need.
With each scorching kiss and tender touch, deep-rooted feelings unravel, making their friends with benefits agreement complicated, and threatens their long-term friendship that has kept them both from falling apart.

(I've been very fortunate to receive a ARC copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion)
I have to admit I was a little apprehensive to go back to Morgan Bay. Not that I was not in love with the place, Theresa Paolo's backdrops are always to die for in my humble opinion, and her world building is extremely enjoyable. It's so easy to fall in love with the town, the side characters you met in other stories getting a little line here and there, the little details you learn to recognize making you feel like part of the town... The magic is still there. This story focuses on Harper and Milo, and what an amazing guy. I mean, too perfect to be true, but really, a sweetheart. I had to stop to clutch at my pearl (not literally, for the captain obvious out there) because he's just so sweet. The sweetest. Literal say of sunshine, human golden retriever, my new adopted son Milo.
I was impressed by the way the author decided to explore Harper's difficult relationship with her mother, alcoholism not being an easy subject, and I feel she did a good showing how difficult it could be for Harper, but also how slightly different things were from Milo's point of view. I also was really glad to see a disabled character being given more than just a mention, and not being the root of all the issues the family was facing. Some themes were heavier than anticipated, and maybe got resolved too quickly, but the gentleness of most characters, Milo and Isla on the beach for example (trying not to spoil too much here) really made everything easier. I also feel like mentioning Isla. I really enjoyed reading about her, and I can't wait for her book.
Sadly, there were also a few things I really did not enjoy. I'm not going to spend too much time on Harper. I did not like Harper, I did not think she was a terribly good friend and in my opinion, she was even worse of a person.
All of them just seemed very... childish and sometimes not really believable to me. The fact that a twenty something never considered masturbation before while having a sex toy in her room ? The talks between the girls are ... painful. Even my sweet, sweet Milo referring to women's cycles as "horror stories of down under"... so we're back in high school. Cool. There is a Adam Sandler mention and yeah, it kind of reads like that. The words used also didn't help with the overall feeling. "shit hit the fan", "shit ton"... again, personal preference, not my cup of tea. I am not a fan of the "looking for Mr Right" trope, but what really, really made me roll my eyes was how the "friends with benefits catching feelings" trope was treated. It's like the whole town missed the years of pop culture around that particular subject, making their exchanges really hard to believe. But I think what really annoyed me was how Harper, who has her own business, is apparently okay with being active on dating apps, but then doesn't even have an online presence for her business and even actively refuses to follow her friends' advice on the subject. I mean... this is 2020. Even before the lockdown bread making wave, people were spending their time on the internet showing their half cooked pies and wonky DIY to the void. Her resistance to anything related to her work makes her sound like she's either five or ninety (and I see a lot of old ladies being awesome online, it's really no excuse).
In the end, it's as always a matter of personal preference. It was sadly a miss for me, but it definitely made me really interested in reading Isla's story and spending more time with her. And Milo. Have I mentioned how much I love Milo ?

All Because I Met You by Theresa Paola is Morgan's Bay Book 2. I am a fan of Paola's and I have been for years. She writes entertaining and compelling rom-coms and this is no exception. Milo and Harper had been best friends since they were six years old. They were roommates now, along with high school science teacher, Jasper. Milo not only listened to her rant after yet another bad date, but he helped her with he mother and brother. Her mother, the alcoholic, and her brother, the most important person in her life. They needed a lot of help. Tom, who had Down syndrome, also had a job at the grocery store and needed rides to and from. Too often her mother was down for the count and Milo or Harper had to pick up the slack. All she wanted was a good life with a man to love. Was that too much to ask?
Harper is very tightly wound. She seems to think she can cure her mother's problems by nagging, which of course, didn't work. She really didn't want to be in Morgan's Bay at all. She yearned for a real life, somewhere else. She was trying to build a business: painting, either holding classes or doing commission work. She was working on 50 glasses for a young woman's graduation party right now. Her good friends, Ilsa and Olivia had pretty much convinced her that her problem was a lack of orgasms and that she should try that rabbit she had purchased at a sex toy party recently. Well, she's had to buy something. She tried it. She enjoyed it. Not as much as the real thing, though, so she decided to remedy that with a fling...with Milo. Milo is a great guy. Everyone says so. She's never looked at him that way. Should she? Should he? This is a fun, sexy book despite the fact it has its share of misery and bad things. Paola has done it again. I recommend it. You will like it, I know.
I was invited to read a free ARC of All Because I Met You by the author. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own.
Really loved this book, both Harper and Milo were great characters, who have a close friendship, are best friends, but when Milo overhears Harper using a new ‘present’...jokingly suggests he could help her out..not for a minute thinking she would take him up on the offer. Harper is dealing with a lot, and is desperate to find someone to lean on if she needs it. She’s stubborn, independent but hurting, and just craves some affection. The two come together and begin to question their relationship. Lots happen in this book and I really loved it, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I felt the ending was a bit sudden, I wouldn’t of minded a couple of extra chapters. I did love the epilogue as we got a sneak peek of what the next book will be which is Isla and Nolan’s story, which I can’t wait for
This is book two in The Morgan's Bay series and it is Harper and Milo's story. Harper and Milo are best friends and roommate's and when Harper had another disastrous date she decides to take matters into her own hands. Milo has had his heart broken many times and now all relationship are off the cards for him but when he makes a joke to his best friend Harper he is shocked when she said yes. Will this work out for them or will it completely break there friendship apart. I love this story so much and Harper and Milo have such a connection between them that you can feel it coming off the page's of this book. Theresa Paolo is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and other's by her and you will not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy of this book.
Harper Flynn is frustrated at putting her own life on hold to take care of her alcoholic mother. Her dates have been a disaster. When she tries dealing with her frustration and finding a little relief, it was okay but just not as good as the real thing would be.
Milo and Harper had been best friends since grade school and now they were roommates. Milo Amato had no desire for “no strings” relationships that end up with someone getting hurt. But when he teases Harper about hearing her the night before and offering to help her with that problem, she takes him seriously! Will they risk their strong friendship to venture into this arrangement? Or will they find that there was always something deeper there that only needed a chance to become something much more?
I truly enjoyed this book about Harper and Milo and their relationship. This is the second book I’ve read that takes place in the ocean front town of Morgan’s Bay. The fictional characters that Paolo created that live in this town have a strong connection with each other that contributes to the enjoyment of reading these books. Paolo has a knack of writing conversation which is realistic and natural. It makes you feel as though you are sitting in the room, conversing with the characters. They easily become your close friends and you look forward to reading because you love spending time with them. Even though this book is the second in the series, it is possible to read it as a standalone story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
This is a beautiful book with a lovely friends to lovers storyline, and also a number of deeper plot lines (sobriety, drink driving and robbery), unexpected in a romance but gives the character and the story so much more depth and realism that you feel you could live in Morgan’s Bay.
The story is fun and exciting, and whilst you (like everyone in Morgan’s Bay) can see the love between Milo and Harper, you thoroughly enjoy the journey as they discover this for themselves.
A great series, a great book and a teaser at the end meaning you are counting down until the next book and Nolan and Isla’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
The main characters were introduced in the first book and I had a gut feeling that they were going to be the favorites. Milo is such a cinnamon roll and paired perfectly with Harper, and we really got a feel for the Morgan's Bay community in this book. The side characters were great, Harper's brother with Down Syndrome is adorable and Hal the Alice Cooper cover band singer is a hoot. I'm also a huge fan of spicy romance books that end in more realistic ways that still maintain the happy ending.
Harper and Milo have been friends since childhood, and love and understand each other. But what happens when they realize they have loved each other as more than friends for a long time? And when they understand that each has made the other's life better? I enjoyed this slow awakening book, and the characters made me smile.

Great book! Amazing story, filled with emotions. These emotions control you, dictate your behaviours, keep you in turmoils all because you finally discover the true meaning of what a best friend really is. Harper and Milo are the perfect example to true unconditional love. This book will captivate you from the very beginning and a definite read.
First, the dedication Theresa Paola wrote to her cousin Craig was beautiful...God Bless.
What would it be like to suddenly realize that you have fallen in love with your best friend of 20 years? Harper and Milo were six when they met, were in sixth grade when they bonded as best friends, and now after an unexpected night of passion, they discover their love for each other has matured. Each is terrified of admitting it....to themselves and each other. What if the relationship fails and they no longer have each other? "I guess when something is always there, you just expect it to always be there." - what if it's not?
This second book of the Morgan's Bay series is beautifully written.
This is the story of Harper and Milo. These two are best friends and roommates. When Milo hears Harper’s dating woes, he offers her a friends with benefits arrangement. He was joking but when she seriously takes him up on his offer, old feelings start to surface. I enjoyed how one thing led to so much more. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

A fun, enjoyable and definitely entertaining romance. The characters are engaging and fun to get to know. The story line flows smoothly from page to page and the author does a great job captivating the reader's attention. A perfect summertime romantic read and I highly recommend.

Milo & Harper are roommates, have been best friends for 10+ years. She keeps dating, with bad results. They finally give into their mutual attraction, and things get complicated. This was heartwarming, steamy, sweet and funny. Great book. I intend to read the series in order.
Book 2 in the Morgan’s Bay series, this is the story of friends to lovers. There is plenty of emotion, tension, chemistry, family drama, fears, taking chances, and love. It was a heartwarming and entertaining read and I loved my return to Morgan’s Bay.
It’s always best to have a relationship biased on friendship and that was perfect though I would have liked if they caught the guy or not. But maybe you have other plans on to book #3
Another really good romance, however it felt rushed in the end so my review is 3.5 Stars but you can’t select a half a start. I still reading the entire series but I felt slighted with Milo’s story at some parts and more needed to be said… overall it’s still a great series!
