A girl is kidnapped. The clock is ticking. And Jack Valentine is the only hope the girl has left…
Chase Martin’s life is all about money. He uses it as he uses people—often and without care for the consequences. When his daughter is kidnapped from under his nose, Chase’s world is turned upside down. The kidnapper demands one million in cash, and warns Chase against going to the police.
Contacting Private Investigator Jack Valentine, Chase entrusts Valentine to uncover the kidnapper and get his girl back safe. Entering into a world of corruption, crime, and power, Valentine uncovers a group of ex-army veterans that had been cheated by Chase’s companies and are desperate for revenge. Investigating cops, family members, and felons, Valentine fights against time to find the girl, fighting to find the one piece of evidence that would answer all his questions.
But what he uncovers will make it the most dangerous case of his career…
This private investigator thriller will take you for a ride through the streets, twisting and turning until it reaches a conclusion you won’t see coming!
well I definitely didn’t expect this ending. very good book
This book definitely has kept me questing of who the culprit could have been. So many twists and turns. It definitely keeps you on your toes as you continue to read. Trying to figure out who it was who kidnapped sweet little Millie Martin. With all the suspects who is it. In the end you will never guess. Could it have been one of the people Who Chase Martin ripped off from one of the failed investments. Keep reading because the answer will not come until the end. I enjoyed reading this and was definitely surprised who it was.
I usually enjoy everything written by Peter O'Mahoney. He has a unique style and interjects humor throughout the dialogue which makes his stories quite entertaining to read. However, the Jack Valentine series does not meet my expectations. It seemed as if many of the chapters are added simply to take up space to make the book longer. The characters were not believable nor were they interesting. At times I thought Jack was going to wear a face mask and a cape. I am not a quitter, so I will follow on with #3 hoping for a bit of redemption. Sadly, this series is not nearly as compelling to read as the Tex Hunter series. I am anxious for Natural Justice to be released in September.
This book is much better than book 1. I really loved all these new characters. The storyline was on point. I totally agree with Mr. Damon perspective about the rich and the poor. It makes you wonder why it’s like this. I see the unfairness in it like Damon. The playing field needs to be balanced and equal. Give other people a chance at the American Pie. I like Casey. And Valentine’s character seems hot 🥵. Chase was a trip about his money, hilarious.
Peter O'Mahoney has written another hit. This book is so well written and the characters so real that you will and may not be able to put it down until it is finished. It has everything from family to love of money and, death and consequence for crimes. You will love this book and highly recommend it.
Another good (easy) read by PO. Some descriptive parts seemed to repeat themselves which I felt was unnecessary but overall it was an easy to read semi-thriller. I feel his best series still are the Tex Hunter ones as far as the writing and storyline goes.
This was a good story of o e person finding justice I. Looking to help people, I like the wHole it took shape I. Do ding clues on the situation that people find them selves on.
I really loved how it turned out. But I had a feeling it was the grandfather. Still enjoyed this book very much. Waiting on the next good read. Hoping Guthrie gets hits is the next book.
This book was based on the morally challenged client of Jack Valentine, and I felt the character of that sleazy man was really well developed. Also a page-turning plot kept me pushing for the climax. Cleverly plotted, makes me want to read another from O'Mahoney.
This book was really so shallow, I kept reading because I couldn't believe that it never got better. Peter usually writes books with depth and weight. Better luck next time.
Not the best thriller. Unimaginable tale of a unimaginable millionaire. Rather contrived about the kidnapping of his daughter. It takes a thief to know another just him
I just discovered Author Peter O'Mahoney. It's so refreshing to read a heart pounding mystery without profanity and sex scenes trying to fill up space. I think this one is my favorite so far out of the 11 of his I have read. I have thoroughly enjoyed each one.
Since reading on Kindle I have discovered an entire new array of authors. Peter O'Mahoney is one of those authors. There isn't one good series I have not thoroughly enjoyed.
Clearly, the author flunked his high school English class; but if you love run on sentences, hyphenation errors and lots of unnecessary commas, this is the book for you!
Another Excellent story of Jack Valentine. That was a very compelling story. I'm glad He and Casey were able to complete their task. Can't wait for more stories, from that Author. I really like Peter O'Mahoney.
I really enjoyed this book. I love Jack Valentine!! There’s a lot of action snd suspense. It definitely keeps you reading. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Buckle up, because Jack's next escapade is calling, and I'm contractually obligated to be his loyal sidekick in this impending chaos of questionable decision-making.
