Perception vs Truth: Spirituality in Simple Words

Rate this book
Do you want your life to change?
The good news is that it all begins right in your mind.
By opening your mind, you can change your life in 180 degrees, making the phrase “Everything is in your head” more important than ever before.
The perception of reality steers our thoughts, feelings, the choices we make and the way we live our life.
It is the underlying reason why our lives are the way they are.
People who never examine their point of view of the world miss the chance to significantly change their lives.
What shapes our perception is the country we live in, society, culture, religion, parents, teachers, and publications like the internet, television, movies, radio, newspapers, and literature.
Many people are misguided by their perceptions, which constantly get them into problems.
This book, Perception vs. Truth, was born as a result of that insight. As the name suggests, much of the reality we take for granted in our lives simply isn’t true. Perception vs. Truth is a wake-up call for all of us. It is a fascinating read, full of interesting insights. It is a spring to quench one’s thirst for knowledge and understanding. It can open your mind to different ways of thinking, new feelings, and novel behavior.
Perception vs. Truth is a reminder that our lives can change just by changing the way we're perceiving it.

Very well put together. This is a mix of different things. It's a spiritual look at life, it's helpful and full of many wonderful insights, and it's inspirational over all.

Ultimately for me, I found this to be a different outlook on life in general and that is what really gave me insight.

I liked the clean and concise way Eyal Cohen has put this together. It made for an easy and understandable read.

‘Life change all begins right in your mind’

Israeli author Eyal Cohen has studied, researched and immersed himself in the philosophies and wisdom behind the teachings of Buddhism, Zen, Taoism, Sufism, Mystic Judaism, Mystic Christianity and more. PERCEPTION vs TRUTH is his literary debut.

Opening his book with a moment of his history Eyal states, ‘For as long as I can remember, I have had an indescribable desire to understand life. Throughout my life, I always felt that something was missing, but I didn’t know what it was. In simple words, I kept asking myself, “What the hell is this life all about? What is going on? And why?...No one, myself included, could stop me from pondering life…’ A critical moment came at age thirty when he experienced something akin to falling into the Black Hole – detached from reality. He explains that phenomenon, and the results of that pondering (‘I realized that the missing part I was looking for in my life was myself’) is this book – a straightforward no nonsense sharing of his thoughts and processes and resolutions.

Explaining the manner of presentation of his book, Eyal states that as calm words that became insights appeared to him, he wrote them down is short and concise chapters, and it is that format that offers his moments of illumination in sections such as Truthfulness, (‘Truthfulness is the sword to cut through our web of illusion’), Virtual Reality, Logic, Self-criticism, Be without Attachment, Changing Life, Fear, Anarchy, Enlightenment, Integrity (‘Self-integrity is practical wisdom – seeing things as they truly are’) and many more. Moments of poignant philosophical enlightenment such as ‘Be the very thing you aspire to be’ make this book a valuable guide to understanding our reality as opposed to our illusions.

Comforting thoughts and guidance from an enlightened man that makes the world make sense – that is the gift of this excellent volume. Highly recommended.

Believe it or not, it is possible to change your life for the better. It involves opening your mind, and changing your perception of reality. That is what this book is all about.

This book consists of short sections, one or two pages each, with titles like: Point of Reference, Victor or Victim, The Principle of Simplicity, Religion, Polluted Minds, Become What You Are and Wisdom of Life.

In order for our hope to connect to reality, we have to act in a way that facilitates the thing we hope for. The seed of change exists solely inside of us. We can decide for ourselves -- either we are a victim or a victor of life. Instead of agonizing over the past, we can learn from it. Why is life so difficult? Because we have lost our Simplicity of Being. A sense of wisdom comes when we are being mindful. Religion is the underlying principle of all that is good, noble, honorable and beautiful.

Our perceptions of reality are shaped by many forces, including society, parents, culture and the internet. Maybe it is time for a change, and this book will help. It is very short, and is the sort of book that can be picked up and read starting on any page. It is well worth reading.
