Valda is trapped, but far from alone. Andreas, Hatch, Oz, and Dirk are all fighting to stay at her side as they work their way through a puzzling prison. The greater struggle for Valda is rebuilding the trust between the five of them.

She doesn’t have their memories, but her guys have proved they’ll start over again as many times as needed. When Oz discovers they are on the clock, the pressure ramps. It will take every one of them working together to solve the riddling path to freedom. As they pull apart their lives to help her rebuild hers, Valda and her men will be tested.

If they succeed, no one can really tell her what waits on the other side. They’ll sacrifice everything to save her. Can she do any less?

**Please note this is a reverse harem and the author suggests you always read the forward in her books. This is the second in a trilogy and the story will continue through future books.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

Time is running out. Her men have kept Dr. Valda Bashan existing inside Memoriam but in the physical world, her body is dying. Hatch gambles and breaks protocol allowing Valda access to more memories of her past inside the constructs. It's a gamble that will either give her a better chance at escape or will destroy her mind. But if there's anything that rivals Valda's brilliance and her discipline, it's her love for her men. They have put their lives on hold for five years trying to save her; now it's time that she saves them and hopefully herself along with them.

Futuristic, dystopian, sci-fi RH. This series checks a lot of boxes. It is a total mindscrew that will appeal to every reader who enjoys puzzles. This story is layered with puzzles. To quote Churchill, "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key." In this case, the key is Valda. Her intelligence, her love for her men. But the price will be high this time. There will be losses you never see coming, decisions made that hurt. As one fight is won, another begins.

Rewind (Time Captive Book 2) Kindle Edition

by Heather Long

Thank you to Heather Long for the complimentary review copy. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
Okay, where to start? First, if you have read the first book, Paused, stop now! Go no further!
If Christopher and Jonathon Nolan wrote Reverse Harem Romances, this would be what they created. Readers will constantly question what exactly in this book and the series as a whole is real.
Valda is still in her mind, in the memoriam. But now, she can remember that it is a construct, and she needs to get out, not matter the cost. She must decide who to trust and whom to protect with her plan. Will it be Hatch, her pirate who would steal the stars out of the skies if she but asked? Or will the very protective Dirk, her security and her protector? Will she trust her priest, Andreas or the doctor, Oz with her plan?

Where Paused relied on the men, Valda is more in front of the story. It is up to her to find herself, overcome her time in the memoria while she makes sure she is in the real world. This gives us not only a broader understanding of Valda and the history of the world we find ourselves in. It was nice to see her solving the issues and taking charge of her own life.
We also see the men in their natural habitat, protecting the people they love.
The plot! Wow was it wonderfully twisting. M. Night Shalayman doesn't have this kind of twist in his movies!
This book was virtually un-put-downable!
Buy this series!

I love so much this series!
The plot thickens in this book and Valda and her men are facing new challenges!
It really blew my mind!
The twists and turns were amazing...some were expected others were not but really this book was so new and refreshing and it totally sucked me in its story!!!!
I really can't wait to see what is going to happen to the next story to Valda and her men!

I NEED MORE!

This ended up as one of those books where you keep flipping the final pages mumbling like a loon "that can't be it, there has to be more!" to yourself. I feel gut punched and forlorn.

Rewind picked up where Dr. Valda Bashan left off in Paused, this time in Rescue One. Primary Objective: To Escape.

I dont want to give anything away, because the journey through Time Captive is incredible because we are able to take this journey right alongside Valda. But Rewind allowed us to see as Valda's eyes opened and awareness bloomed, and what we saw was both mesmerizing and chilling. The world has truly neared utter collapse, nothing is as it seems and the choices ahead could cost Valda and her men everything. Hell, they could cost the world everything.

By the end of the book, my gut was clenched, my heart was aching and I couldn't decide if I wanted to throw the book or race onwards. It's that enthralling.

I can't wait for Fast Forward because I need to know what happens NOW!!

When we left Valda, she had discovered what was happening, her upset causes the construct to fail and the guys have to start again. This time Hatch makes a decision that can change everything. When Andreas, Oz, and Dirk realize what he's done they are angry because of the possible consequences.

It's Valda herself who's going to change things going forward, and while it's not totally unexpected, they have to accept whatever happens.

As Valda spends more time with her guys in the areas of 'Memoriam' she comes to a decision that none of them are going to like.

The biggest problem is 'Memoriam'. Hatch procured this complex computer system specifically for this task. Much to her dismay the program has a thing about failing and Valda has to beat it at it's own game to survive the way she wants to.

Very emotional with laughter, tears, heartbreak, kindle melting heat and so much more!

I can't wait for the next book!

Some of the things I was expecting but the twists and surprised me so much!  These characters are all different and she's so alpha but the relationships between them all are so amazing. The story keeps you glued to your book. There are moments of such triumph but in those moments some sadness happen and it broke my heart.  I felt each of their worries and pain and soooo wished I could just leap into the book and console them. She finally wakes up and the unthinkable happens and they get separated…It broke my heart, to think after everything they went through, the get ripped apart again.

I love how Helen draws you into her stories, she makes you live the story.  She is an amazing writer and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Valda and the boys are back! Well I say boys, these 4 are all men and all of them are just what Valda needs to get through life!

Valda may be trapped but she is not about to down without a fight. She has 4 very big reasons to get out of the hot water she has found herself in. Andreas, Hatch, Oz, and Dirk areagain providing her with all the energy and inspirtion to get them out of the hellish prison they've found themselves in.

Now figtheir prison but also a coutdon clock, things are going to get hairy for our quintet!

Really enjoying this dystopian journey through Valda and boys adventures.

Definitely read book one, Paused, before starting Rewind. The story probably won’t make sense otherwise. Once again, Andreas, Hatch, Oz and Dirk are with Valda in (let’s call it) an alternate reality. This time, though, there are many “bad guys” trying to capture all of them, especially Valda. We learn more about what has happened (and you won’t get any details from me; you hafta read these books to know what’s going on!), who each of these individuals are, what they are to Valda, what they are to each other. It is still a sexy read – I mean, these gents are hawt – but this time has more heart-pumping/heart-stopping action as well. I REALLY need the next book in the series!

Valda is trapped, but Andreas, Hatch, Oz and Dirk are trying everything they can to get out of the prison they have all found themselves in and a clock is ticking. But they will sacrifice anything for her and freedom.

Intriguing read that will keep readers glued to the pages. There are moments of triumph but in those moments some sadness occurs. If you are looking for a dystopic, reverse harem, futuristic read then this is perfect for you.

HOLY COW BATMAN! I know that doesn't fit with this book but when thinking of what to start this review with that's what popped in my head and once you read this you'll understand. This story is the continuation of what started in book 1 and it blew my mind. Some stuff I anticipated but the twists and surprises I didn't. These characters are all different and she's so alpha but the bonds between them all are amazing. I can't wait to find out what will happen next because that ending oh boy!

The plot is so intricate and unique that I give it a five star, something I only save for books I'd read again and again. I don't think I will read it again, but I will think of it sometimes for sure.
Now we enter a new construct with an objective to escape. She remembers everything this one, all the tries, all the guys, she is so aware that she figures out the system is hiding something from her which forces her to take hard decisions.
And then she wakes up and we need to follow her efforts to move again while being without her men.
The book gave me great pleasure and I applaud the author for the ingenuity to create that complex web of ideas.

This is a continuation of the story started in Paused. I found this story quite fascinating. There is quite a plot twist that took me by surprise and kept me reading to see what would happen next. At first I thought this story took place in a biosphere during a post pandemic phase. It has a reverse harem storyline. But in this story we find out it's something else and much more personal. I highly recommend this set of stories and look forward to reading the last final installation of this story to be released soon.
