This book was simple, yet difficult to read. I know it is supposed to motivate teachers to be great leaders. Instead, the book felt weighed down by cliché coach-isms and metaphors. This book focuses on being a fearless leader, like a lion, throwing emotion out as a useless and harmful thing. The paragraphs in each chapter throw a lot of disconnected information together, without any sort of thesis sentence. The book focuses on being a “winner” at all costs. There is nothing new or innovative about the author’s approach to classroom leadership. It simply sounds like a book for coaches, written by a coach.

I love the real life stories and the common sense ideas to promote a positive environment.
A Great read for anyone but especially for those who have the opportunity to impact the lives of others.

This book had simple tips to help a new teacher (or a seasoned one) establish connections with students. It provided specific steps and questions for administrators to consider to help improve the school's climate.

Making a Positive Difference is Key

I think it is very important to the “Positive” in children’s lives. “What goes in, must come out!” If we influence our students positively, there will be a better outcome. Negativity breeds negativity!

Began reading this as a book study with the SPED department at the school I work at and then just got sucked into it over the break, unable to help but read ahead. Easy to read with some great insights - not just for working with students, but other teachers as well. Some great ideas and strategies I'd like to look into further and see what I could implement through my counseling program. A great resource for any educator.
