The Royal Heirs #2

Silent Surrender

Rate this book
Prince Creston SuMartra’s wicked ways, charming arrogance, and brazenness have defined his place in the royal family. As the youngest heir, he will never inherit the crown and has never aspired to. Being the wild playboy prince is a much better fit.

When his father tasks him with a very delicate and secret mission, Creston cringes at the thought of swooping in to save some needy, clueless princess. But he knows by the glint in his father’s eyes, it’s not a request, and no one refuses the king. Creston will go, but he’ll do it his way.

Lis MacKenzie isn’t someone who can be ordered around. She’s strong and independent—she’s had to be. There is no logical reason for her to allow Prince Creston to whisk her away to a far-off land where everything is unfamiliar, strange, and foreign. Lis has no interest in meeting the ruler of some country she never heard of, even if he claims to be her father.

So why is she going, and why is she staying when it could cost her the one man who sees her as a desirable woman? Lis knows how to fight for what she wants, but this time the stakes are unbearably high.

Loving Lis comes with responsibilities Creston’s run from all his life. Now he must decide if going from spare to heir is what’s best for not only Lis, but for an entire country.

Silent Surrender was not my usual read. (I’m normally all about the dark angsty drama!) However I thoroughly enjoyed this! Sometimes you just need something that you know is gonna have a happily ever after! & this has all the feel good qualities of a modern fairy tale!

This is a continuation of the Royal Vow series but with the children’s story now they have grown up. I have not read The Royal Vow series but didn’t feel like I needed to. This story stands nicely on its own. (If you have read it there are probably lots of little Easter eggs & inside jokes!) However I will be reading the series once I get the chance!

Silent Surrender by Lizabeth Scott is the first book in the new Royal Heirs series. Lizabeth Scott previous wrote about the family in a prior series. Even though I had not read the prior series it was still easy for to enjoy this book.

I am have enjoyed reading Lizabeth Scott books. I love how easy they are to read!

A fairytale story! I really enjoyed how the Prince Creston and Lis have attraction from the start! I love how you find Prince Creston to be a lovable character.

This is a five star read!

Lis is working two jobs to pay off her mother's medical bills. Creston is a prince who is sent to find her and bring her back to the neighboring kingdom. She does not know she is a princess, and he is hesitant to tell her for fear she will run. He discovers she is deaf. She does not believe him about being a princess until her mother's lawyer turns up at work giving her a letter from her mother telling her about her father. She agrees to go with Creston for a visit. Their attraction grows the more time they spend together. Will she be accepted by her father and his family? Will she stay?

I enjoyed this story. Creston and Lis are a perfect couple, just made for each other. She brings out the best in him. He accepts her with no hesitation. Her father is not happy with him but soon realizes that Lis can take care of herself. Lis is absolutely adorable. I really liked his parents. They may be king and queen, but they don't let it interfere with their love. His mother is great! I'm on the fence about his older brother but he seems to give good advice. I loved this story! It is a feel-good story and a keeper.

You meet two royal families. King Raj commissions King Ki to bring back the daughter he knew he never knew he had by the love of his life. King ki sends his son Creston over. From the instant he sees her he knows she’s different. Creston is known for the playboy, any girl he wants he gets by smiling. When they finally meet her at her work, she’s completely ignores him which he isn’t use to. They both are attracted to each other but don’t admit to it. This relationship is beautiful as it progressively grows. When Elisha is told the truth of her father, what she thought and was told have been lies. Elisha doubts the love of her father because of impairment which Creston reassures her how much her father has loved her.

The love between them finally get too much both having doubt they are good enough for one another but they are so perfect. Creston never knew he would ever fall in love and after being hurt so much Elisha felt the same. You go on an adventures with them. Elisha doubts that her father will love her because there are things he doesn’t know about her. Creston is always by her side supporting her, showing her how life will be. I enjoyed reading sweet prince falls in love with a princess at first time.

I did not at one stage want to put this book down. This is the first book of Lizabeths I have read and it won’t my last.

Lizabeth Scott is a new to me author and I can say she has a new fan! I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work.
.
I didn’t know what to expect with this book. I’m not usually one to read blurbs so I went in blind and I can safely say I was pleasantly surprised. I usually go for the dark angsty but this was a nice change. I’m glad I gave it a go cause it’s a story that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
.
Amazing characters, creative and detailed world building. I enjoyed how each character was unique and who you thought was the star actually wasn’t. Lis really stood out for me. Her character presence was really pronounced even in the subtlest ways. She definitely both complimented as well as contrast nicely with Cres. Their story felt surreal but you couldn’t help but be drawn in, like a modern day fairytale.
.
Definitely a ride emotionally, not as hard hitting as what I’m accustomed too but I enjoyed this nonetheless. Definitely a well paced book. It didn’t leave you without some trying moments as well as feel good moments, it had the perfect balance of all and I’m left feeling like I experienced the best wave at the beach, excited, exhilarated and satisfied.
.
I’m definitely looking forward to what Lizabeth has in store for us next!

Silent Surrender is a beautiful blessing. Cres and Lis mark the first time in my reading experience that I had to pick my heart up off the floor. Going in I didn't know what to expect, but Scott rattled my emotions and gave me a story that I won't soon forget. Cres may be a heartbreaker, but it's Lis who is the star of the show. Life has not always been kind and she has been forced to face many challenges, yet it's her fighting spirit that drew me in. Silent Surrender is a lesson of hope that may sometimes feels like a fairytale, but never loses sight of it's heart.

Silent Surrender is the second book about the second generation of the Summatra Royal Family. Even though it is a stand alone read, having read the Royal Vow Series by Lizabeth Scott makes the book even more enjoyable.

In this book, a prince meets and falls in love with a visually handicapped woman. The book captures many of the obstacles a blind person encounters on a daily basis. The manner in which the prince and his new love overcome these obstacles and helps others makes a very heartwarming story.

I highly recommend this book as well as the others in the original series.

Wonderful quick read! Beautiful characters, no major drama or angst and a predictable HEA! Lis and Creston are so good together and I love a heroine who stands up for herself and isn't a doormat for the male lead.
Scott's writing style flows beautifully and the story is quite enjoyable.
Not really what I usually go for but if you're looking for something light and enjoy a modern day fairytale then this is a must read!♥️♥️
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review!

Royal romances are just okay for me but this one stood out because the heroine is hard of hearing. Alisha reads lips to cope with not being able to hear well, she designs tattoos and meets Prince Creston (half middle eastern/mediterranean, half white) because she is a princess but doesn't know it. She is a plus size heroine with d cups.

This reminded me of the Princess Diaries but steamier. It is the ultimate escapist type of story: Ordinary girl finds out she is a princess and a hot playboy prince is sent to protect her and bring her home. Hot prince lusts for her and falls in love quickly. The I love you was coming at 50% of the story. Creston seems like an idle rich kid who doesn't have a job and just attends royal events with his family. I can see why Alisha's father thinks he isn't suitable for her. I did like how he finds a cause and tries to make his country better: access to education for the deaf.

What I found interesting is that their conflict is more to do with him taking on the responsibilities of a ruler supporting her as she is to be the queen in the future.

This was low angst which I like but too perfect for me. I didn’t read the parents story and this was fine as a stand-alone.

Tropes: Forced proximity, secret identity

What a sweet read!

Lis is the lost daughter of a King Raj. They both never knew each other existed until her mother died. The King decides he needs to meet and know his daughter so he sends his best friend's son, Creston.

Creston is the playboy prince. He never felt the need to take on any serious responsibilities. He was just enjoying life. His father thinks otherwise and sends him to locate Lis.

Creston has never been attracted to any girls until he meets Lis. There is something about Lis that makes him feel very protective of her. Lis thinks Creston is very attractive but she has no luck with men.

Can a playboy prince and a princess who has never had any luck with men have a relationship? Will the pressures of Royal life or family create problems for this couple? This is an emotional read, so very good!

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Original, Page-turner, Romantic, Wonderful characters

Lizabeth Scott delivers another beautiful story of a modern day royal fairy tale. If you have read her "Royal Vow" series, you will recognize some of the characters as this novel is the start of the second generation "The Royal Heirs" series! Now it is time for the royal children to find love!

Prince Creston has been labeled as the "Playboy Prince" by the media and he has no problem playing that role! Little does he know that his whole world will change once he meets Elisha! Get ready to be swept away in their heart melting love story as they face some of life's highs and lows together! Lizabeth Scott always writes such captivating novels that have you experiencing all the feels from start to finish! Definitely a 5-star must read novel!!

From the moment Creston waltzed into Elisha's life and she promptly put him in his place, I knew I would love this story and all of the characters in it.

Something about Elisha resonated with me and I just wanted her to succeed and be happy.
She has known hardship from the moment she was born. She makes the best of life and is mostly content until a handsome playboy prince brings her news that will change everything. Now, she has to come to terms with a whole new reality. Will she surrender to this new life and the handsome prince that turned her world upside down?

Sometimes I get so lost down the dark, angsty romance rabbit hole that I need something a little different. This SWEET and SEXY royal romp was just what I needed to shed some light on my dark soul. 4 Stars.

I really enjoyed this book, I finished in one (albeit long) sitting. The characters are all engaging and you identify with all of them.

A lost princess. A directionless Prince.

She’s still reeling from her mother’s death and bills. He’s never wanted for anything.

The two main characters fall in love as he comes to change her life completely.

Creston is just the right amount of fun for Lis after a life of hardship.

Together, he learns about love and duty and she learns to trust.

It was also lovely to hear more about Ki and Mari from the first book.

This is a stand-alone HEA although after reading it you’ll want to read the whole series

I don’t consider a much loving couple torn apart by each’s decisions to be illegitiment. Had he known of her, he would have wanted both her and her mother. It is her mother’s fear of her daughter being rejected that is the catalyst of the story. This is a clean royal romance (meaning no long details of cuming). It is a tribute to the deaf community and a call to action for much more development of communications. I had never thought about the fact that spelt words would be different by spoken language. Object hand signs would potentially be able to be universal. I was quite moved by this story in re this element.

Simple and quick. I was hoping for a bit more meat with this book.
Very fast burn, basically Insta-love, which is not my favorite. Also quite a bit melodramatic, all the feelings were big feelings. Lots of wild mood shifts, jumping into arms, declaring love and the like. It had the bones of a good, emotional story but didn't have the meat. Things move along very quickly, difficult decisions are made within hours.
I enjoyed the FMC being completely deaf. She could read voices like a pro, which makes me wonder how long she's been deaf to have such perfect speech.
All in all, not bad, but nothing deep or satisfying.

Definitely not my usual read. I usually go for darker and dirtier. However, this was a totally amazing light read with instant love! Creston is a playboy prince with zero, and I mean zero, clue as to what he is going to do with the rest of his life. Lis is a simple girl from humble roots who just wants to live a simple, happy life. Creston is sent to collect the lost princess but he finds a purpose and true love instead. Lis gains a family and passion. Highly recommend if you are looking for a true HEA read❤️

This book was a wonderful read. I was captivated from the first page and couldn't stop reading until I was finished. Lis is the long lost daughter of a king. She has been struggling since her mother passed away. Prince Creston is tasked with going to America to bring her home. The sparks fly when these two meet. Their chemistry was palpable. This story flowed so well. This is the first book in a new series by this talented author. This book is a must read and I am very excited to see what is to come with these great characters.

What must it be like to have a large, loving family that’s also Royal? Creston is the baby of one such family and yet he seems lost until fate steps in and smacks him upside the head! Elisha on the other hand only had her mom and then pain. Being self sufficient and strong served her well and then....there was a Creston. Learning to trust others, to become what you truly are and face your fears all at the same time takes a lot of gumption and a lot of unconditional Love! Great characters and a Great story that I could not put down.

As always another great read.

I couldn't put the book down. I enjoyed the interaction between Creston & Lis from the beginning. He needed a strong woman & to find his purpose in life. I do wish there had been a note regarding the friend Lis left behind.
I had a dear friend who was blind & got a 'Leader' dog through the Lions club organization. There are many organizations that help provide guide animals in different areas to those in need. Find one you like & help support it.
Yes, I recommend this book. I can't wait to get the next book & read it.

Prince Creston SuMartra was the quintessential playboy prince. Skating thru life with no responsibilities and too handsome for his own good. Life was free and easy for him since he was the youngest in line for the throne so not much was required of him. That is until his father, the King sent him to America to retrieve a recently discovered daughter for his friend, King Raj. Creston has his work cut out for him as Elisha does not believe she’s a princess and she is not impressed with the playboy prince. Getting to know Elisha he eventually realizes shes the one for him, now he just had to convince her.

Silent surrender is the first book in “The Royal Heir” series. It is the next generation from the “The Royal Vow” series and let me tell you Prince Creston is definitely the definition of I’m a prince and spoiled. But seeing how a long lost princess who is deaf brings him to reality? Yeah it’s worth the read. If you’re looking for a feel good HEA then give it a chance. Sometimes it’s good to take a break from reading dark/bully angst romance like I do.

Finding out he has a grown up daughter living in the USA, King Raj asks his friend, king of the neighbouring country, to send one of his sons to collect her. And so, Prince Creston meets Elisha.
This story is interesting, with a couple of good twists, but I feel it could have been better executed.

Loved this sweet romance. Who doesn't love a story about a dashing prince. I also loved how there was a disability with one of the main characters as these books can be hard to find. This book was an amazing easy read and it was very enjoyable.

A queen with a secret weapon!

An absolutely fabulous book. One of those you can't stand to put down. I wish other authors would use this concept of deafness. Just imagine the ways you could use that disability to show how they (the person) can use it as an ability. Good job!
