Submit or Die Lee Bisset longs to belong, in every submissive sense of the word. Trying to find himself, he becomes a prospect for the Demons. One night he pays his way into an underground party and, due to his muscled good looks, is asked to be part of an onstage demonstration—as a Dom. Reluctantly he agrees, putting himself, and the Demon patch he wears, in the spotlight.
Eat the Bullet The Undertaker, Tim to his friends, volunteers to rain hell on the Demon scum who climbed onto the stage at King’s party. An experienced Dom, Tim is quick to get the larger man in his control. Tim enjoys every second of their time together. But since the Kings have a history of trouble with the Demons, there’s no way Tim can keep one of their prospects for a pet… right?
Kiss of Life Tim’s life quickly becomes entangled with his temporary pet. Several club problems boil over at once, leaving a Demon dead by friendly fire, and Tim in a cold fury at the Demons’ VP, Jamison. In an attempt to avoid a full-scale war, Tim agrees to represent the Kings in a race against Jamison. No one expects both men to come out alive. Except Tim finally has a reason to live. And if Tim does things right, he hopes to stick it to the Demons and claim his temporary pet for his own.

3.5 stars I’m in two minds about this one. It had a really good first few chapters. The initial meeting between Lee and Tim was all kinds of cute/sweet/kinky/hot & was “mostly” consensual. It made for an interesting setup. But there’s just something about the timeline and sequence of events that had the rest of the book feeling a little off.
I’m not really sure how I feel about this book as a whole, other than to say there was parts I really liked and parts that left me a bit cold. Tim, for example is a really cool character. He’s dangerous and complex, he wears many faces and meeting Lee really knocks his life off-kilter. And you know he’s a killer. He’s not called the Undertaker just because he’s a funeral director. But I’ll be honest and say, up to the end I quite liked him. But that ending sequence left me hot and cold and thinking he’s really actually quite psychopathic. Which, to me, is not sexy or romantic in this sense. It leaves me thinking this relationship will last only until Tim finally snaps and Lee ends up in his cremation oven.
So yeah, this is a hard one for me. I was happy to keep reading because of the characters but the plot was a bit OTT in places. And the HFN ending left me hot and hopeful but also questioning and concerned for Lee’s life. Which doesn’t really leave me satisfied but at least it’s an ending that was unique enough to make me ponder it. Which I appreciate. I definitely liked this one more than others in the series I’ve read.
This book was dark. The other books in the series were no walk in the park themselves but compared to this book, they might as well have been.
It was primarily focused on the Sadomasochism part of BDSM which I often shy away from because I struggle to read about it especially in situations where all the boundaries were blurred in situations like this. Tim and Lee's relationship was...unique. I did not quite understand how/ why they were wired the way they were but as everyone is different and gets their rocks off differently, I just went with the flow.
Bear in mind that when I say "dark", I mean it from my perspective because I know some of you Dark romance lovers will read this book and roll your eyes at me. Lol!
So yeah, while it might not have been my cup of tea, it was still fascinating enough for me to get to the end and that makes me SO proud of myself!
I'm off to read the next book where we FINALLY get to see how the inside of King's head looks like. :)
I’m not sure why it took me so long to read this one. I guess, ultimately, Tim never really appealed to me. In all the other books he’s appeared in, he seems 100% unhinged. Let me tell you, that doesn’t change in this book either.
Lee seems almost too green for someone as hardcore as Tim. I’m glad Lee was able to take with Tim dished out, but it was A LOT. Lee really doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into. While I appreciated the brand of crazy that Tim had, I really adored Lee throughout the book. Lee seemed to see the depth that Tim had and put it all on the line. This is pretty BDSM heavy, and Tim is an Uber Dom to the extreme. Lee eats it up with a spoon. Their interactions were extra sexy.
Aaron (King), president of the Kings, really came off as unlikable here. Tim has beef with a rival MC member and that is the underlying story arc. King seems to push Tim an awful lot.
Overall, this was an okay addition for me. I really do enjoy this series though and look forward to exploring more in New Gothenburg.
This is a much more specific kink/BDSM based book than the other kings books. It’s SSC even when the character pretends it isn’t. Hard to explain but even as someone who doesn’t share the kinks- I felt comfortable. Kink tomatoes apply
That being said it is hotter than hell, and has its Happy Ever and lots of really excellent feels. Possible spoilers?
When Sloan Killough appears I HOLLERED since I happen to also be reading MDGregor’s book and had not even remotely put the worlds together (it’s been a rough quarantine ok? I can’t always be smart.) I can’t wait to see what comes out of the crossover!

Thank you everyone for your continued support of the Kings of Men series. It's been phenomenal producing this series, and I'm having a lot of fun writing with M.D. Gregory.
My favorite book from the series so far. Unhinged, violent, kinky, and so so romantic.
“You, little submissive, can call me Master.”
So there are only so many stories that actually pull at my heartstrings. And this one is definitely it. The first couple of books of the series, I was not sure how I felt about Undertaker, but in King's Pawn I saw that he can be good. And this book proved that in a tenfold.
Undertaker was down bad from the beginning, possessive, stabby and not afraid to harm and kill for his pet. There is lots of caretaking and fussing over Lee and I lived for it.
Lee was a poor baby. Used by others, struggling to find his calling and making others happy. Undertaker definitely showed him how to turn off his brain and just be.
There are lots of hot scenes, lots of violence (some corpses), and so much romance. I wanted to keep on reading but also was afraid of the story ending. I have so many highlights (well, for me at least) that I just needed to see.
I normally reserve five stars for books that I can a) recommend b) read more than once and c) Just thoroughly enjoyed…..
I don’t know who else would be into this book, and I may or may not read this again, but I did thoroughly enjoy it, and I can’t think of a single thing wrong with this book. I loved Tim and I loved Lee and I loved their relationship .
✅ Mostly strict too/ bottom roles ( 1 scene) ✅ smaller top/ sort of himbo bottom ✅ 24/7 D/S relationship ✅ 🐓 Cages ✅ Shibari ( though I think they call it something else) ✅ MC clubs ✅ non gender conforming MC (uses he/him pronouns but also wears make up and other clothing choices that others might consider “feminine”) he’s also the Top/Dom which I loved
Lee is a large burly man, whose father was part of an MC gang, and he has mostly grown up outside of the life I think because his father went to jail, and his mother had to kind of hide from people that his father pissed off, I think. But he somehow finds himself attempting to join an MC gang and attends a sex party with a stolen cut from the gang. He hopes to become a prospect of. It’s at this party that he meets Tim who goes by “ Undertaker”.
Lee kind of gets pigeonholed into the position of a Dom because of his size even though in his heart, he is a sub that just wants to please. Tim recognizes almost immediately that Lee has no idea what he is doing and takes control of the situation, but Tim is from a rival MC gang.
So, even though Tim and Lee are essentially a match, made in heaven, because Tim is a Dommy , Dom Dom and Lee is a Subby sub sub. They are from rival gangs, and this leads to the majority of the plot conflict for the first half of the book. The second half of the book is the consequences of them deciding That they don’t care that Lee is a prospect of a rival gang and also navigating a dynamic that is sort of new for both of them. While Tim is not new to the life, he has never had someone that has willingly submitted to him as thoroughly as Lee does, and Lee has never had someone that is willing to take control of him the way that Tim does because of Lee’s size. Most people see Lee and pretty much assume that he is a top/Dom.
And if that is not enough to make this awesome, Tim is really an amazing character. Aside from his awesomeness as a Dom, he is morally black. He is called the undertaker for a reason, and while part of his job for the MC is legitimately and illegitimately taking care of dead bodies. He also helps to create them simply because he enjoys it .
I’m not sure that I’ve done this book justice with my review, but if you like morally gray/black characters, D/S themes, size difference, and a touch of S/M …. You will probably really like this book.
This book seemed like it didn't know what it wanted to be, lots of contradictions. If you like BDSM this might or might not be for you depending on how you feel about an absence of safe, sane, consenual and 24/7 dynamics with a lack of boundaries and talking things through.
Lee surprisingly was my favourite part of this book rather than Undertaker. He was this big, lumbering guy always being confused for tough and hard when really he's a marshmellow inside who just wants to give over control. His mother was a thorn in his life, who would rather see her son get into crime and live a life of vices to keep things *exciting* even if it got him sent to the hospital. I think she heavily contributed to why he's drawn to the 24/7 lifestyle since he was looking after a reckless mother who couldn't get out of her teenage rebellion phase, not that he really knows what's happening most of the time when it comes to the dynamic and lifestyle.
It seemed the authors made Tim (Undertaker) this larger than life character and couldn't really pull through because they lacked some sort of vital understanding of him. I'm not sure what that is. His psychopathic behaviour? His obsessive nature? His inclinations to the BDSM scene and sadistic nature? His lack of morals and yet being a funeral director, genuinely comforting people and loving his family? Dishing out threats and people being scared of him but there's nothing in the story that really sells me on why he's this boogeyman of a guy? It seemed they barely were able to scrape the surface of each of these traits. I didn't see the same lovingly obsessed way he was with Lee like I have in other dark romance books. He legit had the thought to kill him so he wouldn't have to deal with worrying about him (a cardinal SIN when it comes to dark romances still being swoonworthy imo), he was also the reason Lee ended up in the hospital because he fed Lee to the wolves that was the Demons biker club and didn't offer any protection of any kind when he sent him off with the biker patch HE ruined knowing it would get him into trouble AND he still hit him (in a non sexual way). And all of this was written in a way that lacked self-awareness of these actions, which p*ssed me off since it meant it wouldn't be mentioned or resolved.
The confusing part was why they liked each other.
Tim denied advances from a guy who didn't have any self respect, where I would argue Lee seems to lack the same thing in their dynamic (he doesn't stand up for himself when it comes to Tim, but this is shrouded and dismissed through the dom/sub dynamic. The authors also threw shade at 50 shades of Grey for the author not understanding the scene where I would argue Tim isn't a great representation either??? Not advocating for 50 Shades, but if you're going to bash other works, do it through writing it better not worse). Lee is as green as they come and this while in theory would have been cute, it just came off as he was in way over his head, even more so when you learn that Tim was in love with Aaron, who seems much larger than life compared to Lee. If we're going to have a love triangle (of sorts but present) it needs to be a balanced one. Lee also doesn't necessarily like the bullish body he was born with as it doesn't match the inside of himself where I would argue Tim likes this best about Lee, like he doesn't go soft on him because this is a big body he can control. Something about this seemed sad to me since Lee just really wanted to be taken care of and please his potential Dom.
I also think Tim is more of a switch than he (or the authors?) wants to admit or realise. He had that whole thing with Aaron where it was clear he was in more of a submissive role and he lowkey was in love with Aaron. But instead the authors have this push and pull where he's like no I'm not, but YES HE IS, and this is where I think it's because this was written by 2 authors who may be on the same storyboard but different wavelengths. He likes pain, but it seems like he'd be fine with it being inflicted on him too, and Lee isn't about this. He also bottoms with Aaron and later Lee (Tim's choice not so much Lee's, who does enjoy it in the end but again the scene in a way contradicted that whole beginning since Tim wanted the pain this time and Lee proved in the first few pages that he didn't want to be the one inflicting anything). I'd be fine with this but it's just another contradiction to the way Tim's presented as this HARDCORE DomTop sado dude, who more than the other books, this was where these hard lines would have served better in exchange for exploring new and fresh sex scenes, which my guess was what was going on here.
If anything Lee was more figured out as he stays consistent and he deserves a whole star.
I enjoyed Tim taking care of Lee after his hospital visit and this being a big plot in the book rather than some club happenings. It worked as a driving point because we get to see the build up of this dark character throughout the series being gentle (somewhat) and this was nice to read. A plus for this book because I don't think this could be pulled off with someone like Aaron as the main love interest and worked well for the sort of person and circumstances coming from Lee. It's why the love 'triangle' doesn't feel too bad in the end. Another star for this!
Tim would have been 2 stars if the build up wasn't like 5 books in. I think my main disappointment was expectations not being met, which sometimes just happens. Another star is cut because of the BDSM portrayal. Not saying we needed contracts or deep conversations or anything, but Tim's tendancy for rule breaking made him an awful dom, and Lee's newness to the scene made him too easy a target for manipulation ngl. I would have docked a star for his whole "I'm not a rapist, even if Lee said stop for their first time and he didn't listen🙄" At this point the authors should just lean in to the lack of morals, it would be much more appreciated.

Full disclosure: I’m generally not a fan of motorcycle club books, but I was interested in this couple and their dynamic so I gave it a try. And I actually loved the main characters, their relationship, their D/s dynamic, but all the other stuff that happened in the book was boring motorcycle club stuff and I ended up skimming a lot of it. I think if you are into MC books, definitely give it a try!
The music was intense and almost obnoxious it felt like a sauna in here and sweats dripping all over me. I had been feeling daring tonight I'd even swiped some drunk dude's cut and now I'm proudly strutting around wearing it myself. I can't say for sure what I'd been thinking when I sign up for this party but hey the best opportunities come when you least expect them and I'm sure hoping this is one of those times. Yeah most people look at me like that when they ask me for my legal name who knows what my dad was really thinking. I prefer Lee to my weird name. Okay I'll admit i'm totally out of my element which is an understatement of mass proportions. Especially when I draw the attention of one particular man who possesses a unique brand of kink and he's making sure I'm paying attention to his lessons. His name was Lee. Well I did snatch the cut he'd had in his possession inviting him to come get it. I'm impressed he'd actually showed when I really didn't think he would. And yes I'm starting to piece together all the facts I've uncovered so far. But I'm not letting him leave just yet I want another shot at Lee. My Uncle sent me to the morgue. And for some reason I couldn't help the dreaded feeling inn the pit of my stomach what ifs can drive you crazy but I had to know if the body I'm picking up is someone I happen to know. I'd never been more grateful in my life the body wasn't his but it did belong to that vile club. I'm a mean man bent on find out what happened to Lee and I'll do anything to there new prospect to find out. Yeah poor fool should have learned but I'm not about to make my own mistake. Everything that's happened to me was my own fault I should have been more careful. But seriously the last thing I want is for my mom to know the truth about how I truly got hurt. Find out I'm done with club was bad enough after the pain that been inflicted on me but know there trying to squeeze everything out of me. I never meet anyone who would allow me free reign over them the way my beautiful pet has and now I want to keep him.

I grabbed this up on someone’s recommendation and kept putting off reading it for several reasons, but I’m glad I finally read this book. It’s totally my kind of k!nky dark romance. I read a few reviews that stated this book is overly violent, but I have read much, much more violent romance than this. I thought this was pretty tame and less violent than I expected. Plus, most of the “dark” parts are Tim’s thoughts and nothing that actually happens. You have to go into the story knowing that Lee is a very messed up individual, but loyal to his core to those he cares about. Of course, his affections walk a very fine line with the cold killer within him.
As for the relationship - I loved it. Lee is SO into Tim from the start and it never felt like a stockholder syndrome or unhealthy relationship. He sees what he believes is the real Tim, or at least a side that Tim has only ever shown to Lee, and understands that Tim’s actions speak louder than his words. Tim cares, but in his own way. There is no relationship drama as both men are pretty committed to each other early on, even when Tim thinks he’s fighting his attraction (we know better!). Are they into some dark stuff? Sure, to those people who consider what they do is dark. Tim is a sadist and Lee is 100% into it.
Anyways, I’m not sure yet if I’ll read the rest of the series because I’m just not a fan of MC books, but if I were going to read one? It’d be this series because I like this author’s storytelling and characters a lot. This can definitely be read as a stand-alone, although I’m sure there are some things I didn’t catch, but they didn’t seem necessary to enjoy this book.
Lee - a prospect for the Demons MC Undertaker - Dom and member of Kings MC
Lee steals a Demon's cut and goes to a party where he becomes the Master's pet for the night. He's mistaken as a natural Dom because of his size, but he prefers to be dominated. What should have just been a moment ended up becoming so much more. Lee does a scene on the stage and all began to change between the two. Tim gives him the address to his house as its the only way to get back the Demon cut he too.
When Tim hears about a Demon in the morgue and immediately believes its Lee, his true feelings become more apparent. He goes to the morgue while wondering what he could do if it is Lee. How will these two manage the relationship each wishes and belong to two different MC? Will Tim get the sub he wants? Will Lee get the Dom he needs?
The steamy care these two displayed in this fast paced dark story is worthy of the page-turning read. Another intense addition to a powerful MC storyline.

Ok, I loved Destiny but I LOVE Tim and Lee. Their dynamic and how they come together is achingly sweet, a little twisted, and plainly beautiful. The character development, who they are, is so well done. We get to see the Undertaker as a complex human and his pet for the vulnerable man he is. And despite Tim being the Master and Lee the pet, dominance isn't portrayed as strong/omnipotent or submissive as wholly acquiescent. Both are equally strong, vulnerable, and unapologetic of their desires.
I also liked the glimpse into Tim and Aaron's relationship but I wonder how they worked when Tim needs pain for pleasure. I'm guessing Tim dialed down his needs a bit for Aaron. They never would have worked long-term and weren't in love but there is a deep connection and care there that is very endearing if a touch toxic
I really liked this for the most part. I had the same problem I had with a couple of the books in this series 2/3 of it, super into it, well done and so on, and then it goes off the rails in a way that I'm like people just don't react like that. There is a moment that Tim slaps Lee's face (not in a sexy way) and Lee blinks like it's not literally a slap in the face. Like it's an idiom for a reason! A slap in the face is not a slap in the face only because it hurts (and therefore if you are manly man, it is not a big deal because it doesn't hurt as much), it's a slap in the face because it's humiliating, startling and it fucking stings (double meaning intended). Like people will have a reaction to a slap in the face and not just blink because oh the other person didn't mean it to hurt you. EXCUSE ME.
The Undertaker was a very complex character and I never knew which way his mind was going to go. He fought tooth and nail not to give in to his feelings for Lee but the heart has a funny way of messing with your head. He was so cruel with his emotions and sadistic with his kink sometimes, I felt bad for Lee. But Lee handled all the different sides of Tim and got his crazy Master in the end. I'm pretty sure Tim had to be bipolar. Each book in this series takes you to places you would never imagine and keeps you guessing. Ki delves deep into the characters lives, making you feel like you're a part of what's happening which is a sign of a great author to me. I'm totally addicted to this series. Can't wait for the next book.
King's Undertaker is Book 5 in The Kings of Men MC series. If you've enjoyed this series you don't want to miss this book. It's intense and isn't for everyone but I didn't want it to end. Lee found himself at a BDSM party where he met Tim, Undertaker. Little did they both know they where just who the other needed. I love how open Tim was with Lee from the beginning. It's like, 'this is the way it's going to be and if you don't like it there's the door'. Lee definitely brought out a different side of Tim that only he got to see. I'm glad Undertaker found his Pet and Lee found someone he can be himself with. I highly recommend this book and series and I can't wait for more.

Okay so first i must admit that i usually skip books that have the Dominant MC more fem/smaller looking whereas the other MC is all huge scary and all that... its never been a thing i could get into .. so when i heard good things about this book i was definitely skeptical...
I read the preview and bought the book because i NEEDED to finish it. I actually LOVED this book and had all the feels. I loved how the Top/Dom MC was a little fem and how he had so many different sides to himself and it just worked.. i seriously loved Mortimer ♡ and Lee oh wow i felt for him so much! He had me tearing up for him. Such a big scary lookin man just so sweet and didnt know how to find what he needed. Ugh i need more like this now. Definitely rec this book!
This book did not disappoint as we met new characters, received visitors from past books and as always been gifted with more and more insight into the main characters in this series. You can't help but continue to cheer on our criminals/killers/bad guys with the biggest hearts not to mention our sweethearts with enough of a rough edge to be able to love the aforementioned. If you've read anyone of the previous books in this series then you better hurry up and treat yourself to this treasure. And if you haven't started the series yet what are you waiting on? Get off your hands and hurry up to catch yourself up. The longer you wait the more you'll regret it in the end. This is definitely a series I can read over again and again.
Undertaker has been my favourite since the beginning, with his ability to creep people out and his nonchalance to torture and pain and death he's a very interesting man. With what he reveals of his childhood and teens it's no wonder that he's who he is and it would take someone really special to be able to take that kind of crazy. But when Lee comes along in the form of a prospect in a rival club and with kinks that align with his it's a match made in blood.
I loved this book and getting to know more of Tim/Undertaker and how he's perfectly comfortable with inflicting pain but doesn't know how to deal with tenderness, emotions and feelings. I'm really happy that he was able to find Lee who is just the one that can give him everything he needs and some things he didn't know he wanted.
Blood, pain kink and violence isn't my kind of kink, but I loved Tim and Lee and the complexity of Tim.
This one is my favorite so far!!! I cannot tell you guys how much I loved Tim. He is 3 different people in one. I loved them all! Lee, omgosh! I loved him too! A gentle giant who looks big and bad but is a softie. He is perfect for Tim! I love that they both have names they don't go by! I loved the pain scenes!!! Eeeps. The bullet!!!!! Wow! Tim has an edge that is just so intensely frightening! I wouldn't want to meet Undertaker in an alley. I love the rivalry with the gangs! Man I could go on and on! Aaron and Tim were pretty insane too! I love this series and can't wait to see where it goes!! Tim will go on my bookshelf!!
I'm intensely enjoying reading this series of the Kings. This story is about Tim who is a King and Lee a wannabe prospect of the Demons who has this freaky BDSM relationship. From the beginning the dynamic of their relationship is different than what is expected. This dynamic made the story a real page turner and kept me wrapped up until the very end. When reading this book don't expect any warm and fuzzies because you will hardly see any of that. This is truly an intense and wicked story with a lot of pain and a lot of passion.

I don’t know what type of research these two authors did to get into the mind of a character like Tim, The Undertaker or if he just climbed out of their interesting brains but he is fascinating to read about. As usual there is lots of kinky fun but with Tim whether it’s because he is smaller than the average Dom most of his scariness comes from mental intimidation rather than having a physical advantage over other people. I really enjoyed the story of this book but I was absolutely fascinated by Tim’s way of thinking about and dealing with things. Another terrific book in this series. New Gothenburg for ever!!!
This story did not catch my attention as the others did which saddened me in a way because Tim was my favorite King so far. I was really looking forward his HEA. I'm Fully Fine with the BDSM aspect of the relationship but there are other moments, such as near the end, that just makes Tim seam like his psychotic and the future may not end well for Lee. Also for the main plot that's been connecting the books together, there wasvery little to push it along. There was some moments but even those seem to support other side plots more. In all it flowed oddly to me and made me enjoy it a little less than the others.
Yeah! We finally got Undertaker's story. I loved it! I loved the chemistry between him and Lee. And I loved that Lee was a big muscular man who looked like he should be an dominate and was really a submissive. Or I guess he was a masochist to Undertaker's sadist. He enjoys receiving pain and Undertaker needs to give it. They were a perfect match. I can't wait to read the next book that comes out. Love this series! I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.
This pair, undertaker Tim and the young man Lee are my most favorite couple in this King’s Men series. Their dynamics match the best. Tim is such a fascinating character, dangerous, violent, cold blooded to those who hurt what was deemed to be his. He would do anything to keep Lee safe and well tended. Lee, while soft and naive in his own way, is also a strong character who fit Tim in all ways. The book is so fulfilling, exciting. I also enjoyed seeing other characters from other books or a parallel series. I enjoyed reading the books from both authors! I will continue to read from these two authors.
This is just one of those I started but never finished, and now I just don’t feel like going back to it? It’s a book where I feel like if I do finish all in one sitting, I’ll just never finish it.
There are a lot of characters from other books, I don’t think just from this series. So it’s hard to just jump in halfway, I think. There’s BDSM sex scenes but maybe too many sex scenes (for me at least). And the book just really never felt as ~dark~ as I was expecting. So, eh.
This is going on my DNF shelf. Can’t remember where I got to.
This was different for me, I stay away from these types of books bit I love Tim in this series. Nothing in this book was explained all the way, everything was just brushed over and what Tim did to Lee towards the end there was no reason why or no explanation after the story just went on. Tim and Aaron relationship was 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️, couldnt understand it, and some of Tims thoughts were like who are you really interested in. Lee was a delight and took alot. So many questioned unanswered but they ended up HEA.
I've read several books written by Ki Brightly; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.
