His Temptation

CASON
What do you do when you think you might be falling for your best friend's dad?
Emery Cross is everything I never even knew I needed until the night I accidentally met up with him in a hotel room. Now he's all I think about. All I want. But after a kiss that sends my head spinning in the best way, he turns as cold as his glacier blue eyes. Refusing to let me close to him.

EMERY
I shouldn't want Cason. He's young, inexperienced, and too innocent. A temptation unlike any other. His smile sends my heart racing, and when I'm with him, I forget about the things weighing me down... but it could never work between us. It doesn't matter that he wants me too, that he's persistent. I can't. Some lines aren't meant to be crossed.

OK, so I decided to give Jaclyn Osborn another shot...

It didn't work out. This is the second book I've read by her. The first one was "The Ghost of Ellwood". I wasn't happy with that one so I didn't read anymore of her stuff.

Then I came across this story. And a dad falling for his son's best friend?! Yes. Sign me up. Love that shit.

But this was just a no.

Where do I begin? Oh, and there will be spoilers. Because, honestly, I'd don't quite know how to write a review without spoilers. These reviews are therapeutic for me.

So, let's begin.

First of all - I loved Cason. He was adorable and sweet and kind hearted. He was a great character. How I WISH the entire story worked as a whole. But it didn't for me. And because I like Cason so much, it's disappointing.

Second of all - Ryan? The son? Ohmigod he was such a selfish jerkface. I honestly could not see why someone like Cason was not only friends with him, but BEST friends. Ryan was self absorbed, entitled, immature, and rude. For me it didn't help that at the end he finally got it somewhat together and gave "his blessing" for Cason and Emery to be together. Really? Why should they need his go ahead in the first place?
I get the whole not wanting a rift between you and your child, but the truth of the matter is, they grow up and leave. You're not going to spend the rest of your life with them. That's reserved for the person you fall in love with, and thereby they should be your priority.

Now, I will give it Emery. He did try to get Cason back afterwards, but Cason pushed him away. But I can't be upset at Cason because he was just too sweet.

Then we have the whole Faith popping up everywhere Cason is. Really? I mean, that's just too unrealistic for me. I'm sure there was another way you could make Cason and Faith become friends. She was a cool girl though.

It was so cliché how Cason kept running into her, and accidentally came out to her, and then she was cool with it, and then they were great friends, and then helped him through his heartbreak. 😒Just all so cliche.

Then we have another cliche. The paralegal working for Emery. Really? How many times has the Secretary/ administrative assistant/employee - Or in this case, paralegal - been a sassy friend of the MC? And of course she's female. Because a gay man "needs" a female friend. I just don't like the whole "I-work-for-you-but-we're-friends-too" thing. I think it's unrealistic. Not necessarily the friends part, but the lack of professionalism that they tend to have because of said friendship. I just don't like that.

Then we got ourselves Jay. Good flipping God, spare me. It was ANNOYING having to hear every 5 seconds how freaking gorgeous he was. How every single person - male or female - fell over themselves at just a glance from him. If he was so gorgeous, and charming, and funny, and apparently hot in bed, how did Emery manage to have sex, oh wait, I'm sorry - "fuck like bunnies" for nearly 2 years, but not fall for him? Like really? And apparently, Emery would get all these "sparks" when he saw him and get distracted when in court with him. But no. It was just sex. In every room in Jay's house. In Jay's office. In Emery's office. In public. Like, anywhere. Really? I don't want to hear about that when I'm reading a ROMANCE novel about Cason and Emery. Not Emery and JAY. I don't like that kinda stuff in any of my books.

And then we have the whole, "Jay's actually a good friend now" thing. Um...okay. So he was nothing more than a fuck buddy for 2 years, but now, all of a sudden, he's the guy you're hanging out with and claiming is a good friend. It didn't click for me at all. It was just annoying. I honestly had a hard time seeing Jay and Emery together because we were given too much info about their "hot sex life" that I felt uncomfortable seeing them hang together. I wasn't even in the story and I felt weird about it.

But of course, once Cason meets Jay he's totally fine with Emery's and Jay's friendship. Oh PLU-LEZ!!! 🙄 Not is SO NOT REALISTIC.
Osborn also kept making sure we remembered how "great of a friend" Jay was to Emery during his dark times. I seriously have no idea how he was other than he had tons of sex with him and taught him how to have orgies in hotel rooms with other guys.

Um okay. I'm seeing the great saving friend thing there.

Then we have the sex between Cason and Emery. It supposedly was the best sex Emery has ever had, but I didn't see how. I mean, Cason in and of himself, is perfect. But I mean, the actual sex scenes weren't that mind blowing. I was disappointed by the scene of Cason finally losing his virginity. I didn't feel the mind blowing connection or the sizzling hotness of their time together. BEFORE they had sex I felt the sexual tension and chemistry. So I was probably expecting it to blow my mind when they finally had sex. It didn't.

There was just too much cliché, too much I'd seen done in other books, and too many annoying things. Obviously Jaclyn Osborn doesn't do it for me. Her books sound interesting, and have good reviews, so that's why I thought I'd give her another shot.

Two strikes you're out for me. Know that's harsh, but I don't like to waste my time on a book that leaves me irritated and not completely satisfied. And also that annoys me while I'm reading.

It had promise, for sure. And Cason was amazing, so it's sad to see him stuck in this story. I think if we could have gotten rid of the back story with Jay I would have liked this way more. Because I didn't necessarily have a problem with the relationship between Emery and Cason.

So, for Cason, it gets a 2 star instead of a 1 star.

I really enjoyed this book. I always enjoy a good age gap and this was delicious. Cason and Emery had great chemistry and the heat was off the charts.
I didn't quite enjoy the 80% break up though. Seriously, can we just skip it in the future? It's getting old. In this case it took forever for Cason and Emery to get back together. It took away from what was a great romance.

While His Temptation was a decent story, it was also predictable and lacked the spark I needed. Ryan, Emery’s son and Cason’s best friend, sounded like he was 12 not 18, but his attitude surrounding his struggle to adjust to/accept his dad being gay as well as how Emery navigated to repair their relationship while knowing his fling could further damage it, was interesting to read. Also the dynamics of Cason and Ryan’s relationship was interesting because Cason was Ryan’s trusted voice of reason so knowing the drama that would unfold when Ryan inevitably found out they’d kept secrets/betrayed him (his dad for the second time) was the highlight of the book.

For me, this story would have worked more as a casual fling where Emery (37) helped Cason (18) explore his sexuality and lose his virginity with a safe, experienced, older crush. I didn’t quite connect with them as romantic partners. Partly because while the idea is fun and dirty in theory, it is still weird to imagine scenarios in reality from Ryan’s standpoint. Also I didn’t really feel their chemistry. But there is a HEA.

I really enjoyed this one. I love age gap stories, I really love best friend’s dad or best friends son stories, although I think I prefer the latter because there is less childish drama?

This was really good though. Cason is 18, still a virgin and not sure why girls aren’t so exciting to him, but he starts noticing his best friend Ryan’s dad Emery. Emery is recently divorced, his relationship with his son Ryan is really strained after his son found out he was gay by catching him with a guy. Ryan is a bit homophobic but in a way that I imagine a lot of small town teenager jocks are. It isn’t mean-spirited as much as ignorance and hurt about the way he found out.

Once Cason realizes he is gay, he wants to explore his sexuality. With Emery. At first Emery is resisting his attraction to Cason, but Cason won’t give up, and soon they start a no strings attached summer fling. And they obviously keep if from Ryan, with the expected drama when he eventually finds out.

No worries, it all wraps up nicely in the end, with a HFN/HEA. I really liked Cason and Emery together, the sex was super hot (Hot virgin! Older hot guy! Obviously!) they were really sweet to each other and Cason was really mature for his age due to how he grew up.

I liked the side characters, mainly Jay (Emery’s fuck buddy/friend) and Ryan. I don’t get the Ryan hate. He is a kid. He struggled with his feelings and eventually came around. He was acting like a jerk to his dad but again, he is a kid. Teenagers are jerks, especially when they are hurt.

I’m very hit and miss with this author and unfortunately this was mostly a miss for me. While not being terribly bad in any particular way it just felt very average. I liked Emery and Cason’s getting to know you moments, there was originality there and you could see how Carson would win someone like Emery over. But there were lots of secondary characters who felt unnecessary and a bit like filler. Once the story got underway it was fairly predictable and I started skimming about half-way through up to the ending.

Cason and Emery

Cason has a rough youth, no father and an addictive mother with nasty boyfriends. He spent a lot of time with Ryan.
At eighteen he isn’t sure but guesses he’s gay. Girls never did it for him and he has a crush for his best friend’s father. He’s afraid to tell Ryan, he knows he won’t take it well, the gay thing.
To get some experience at last he goes through some apps.

Emery, at thirty-seven, is a bit depressed and down. His son hates him, he has a too busy job as an attorney. Worst of all he’s very attracted to his son's best friend.
A notification gets his attention, a young guy wants to hook up. Oh well, maybe he can get over Cason this way.

A fling just for the summer, no strings, no commitment that’s the plan.

So far it seems like a good concept but holds your seatbelts because it’s the beginning of something hot, complicated journey.
Because it isn’t as simple as it looks at first sight.
There are homophobic friends, secrets and not coming out.

This was a lovely story, Cason and Emery both engaging characters. The sexiness was nice and steamy. Both men were endearing and lovable.
I loved Jay, Emery’s cocky friend with benefits. I didn’t like Ryan later on it got a little better but still.
The writing style was good and enjoyable.
A steady story, with true love and a satisfying end.

This was a great start to the series and a lovely slow burn, age gap romance. Cas and Emery just fit together, and I thought their journey was told really sympathetically. The struggles they had with Cas being Emery’s son’s best friend really had me hanging on the edge of my seat because you know it was going to blow up at some point and I just hoped they’d weather the storm. What struck me most is how authentic their characters were, and we had a front seat to them experiencing something neither had before. It just goes to show that that when that initial lust and attraction strikes, it can grow into something a whole lot more and regardless of the obstacles, it can survive and flourish. This was a really sweet and emotional read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I really was liking Cason but I just felt like the story was predictable and almost read as too young for me. There was just something about the writing and the cliches that reminded me of books I read when I was younger, tired stories that recycled the same storyline over and over.

I'm with mixed feelings about this book. Jaclyn Osborn is one of my favorite authors so writing this review is hard. You'll know why soon.

Things I liked in this book:
- the book just has this warm touch to it.
- Cason... NOT ENOUGH WORDS!!! I LOVE HIM!!! He was so full of warmth, love, desire to live his life the way he wants.
- virgin MC
- the forbidden love story (best friend's dad, age gap)
- the chemistry between Cason and Emery + the way they looked at each other *swoon*
- the way both of them talked about things (most of the time)

Things I didn't like:
- Cason and Emery were both complex characters, who have gone through a lot. I wished we got to see how these things were talked about between the two of them. It would have made their relationship so much deeper. For me, it was a waste for this to not be included. (It would have easily made the book 5 stars.)
- Emery's son...
- Jay... I don't understand how he and Emery went from fuck-buddies to best-friends-forever.

The one thing that bothered me the most and the main reason I'm giving 2,5 stars:
- the representation of OCD in this book. Does Emery have OCD??? I was left with the impression he has it and not because it was shown (represented in an actual way), but because Cason asked him: "Are you OCD?" - Seriously!? And because of the hints in this book that tried to imply that Emery has OCD.
Emery liked to be organized and clean. But that alone is NOT OCD. (The cleaning and organizing are just two examples of the many kinds of OCD compulsions.) The way it was portrayed in this book, made it look like OCD = cleaning the house and being organized. This is one of the big stigmas surrounding OCD.

Also, if you're writing about a character who has mental health disorder make it clear. Does he have it? Why just mention it like that, try to give hints (wrong ones), and move on? There is no point. I know there are a lot of misunderstandings surrounding OCD. Many use the word OCD as a synonym to words like "clean" or "organized" like in this book, stripping OCD of its reality.

In conclusion: Yes, the book was predictable, Emery's son was awful, Jay was out of the blue turned into a best friend, some scenes didn't make sense. But it still was a warm book, a forbidden romance that felt so sweet and hot. It was a light read but it made me feel on edge the whole time because I was waiting for things to blow up. This took away from the experience. And of course, I was disappointed, angry, and offended by the representation of OCD. Regardless, Jaclyn is still one of my favorite authors, but I can't deny this misrepresentation bothers me.

Cason has just graduated from high school and is figuring some things out about himself. One being he may be gay. Another being, he is wildly attracted to his best friend, Ryan’s, father. Both have the potential of causing a negative reaction from Ryan. In hopes of finally losing his virginity and perhaps even laying some of his questions to rest -- he joins Grindr and sets up a meet with an older man who maybe reminds him a bit of Emery.

Emery is battling his own inner turmoil. He knows being attracted to his son’s best friend isn’t the wisest thing he’s ever done. Especially when he has such a strained relationship with said son. That’s why it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea to take up an offer from a guy on Grindr who is way too young for him. It’s only kind of funny that the guy turns out to be exactly the same person he’s trying so hard to forget about.

Listen, I have a weakness for the whole best friend’s dad trope and His Temptation checked all the right boxes and it’s really not at all surprising that I enjoyed this a lot. There is a bit of push and pull between the two at the beginning but once Emery loses grip on his control it’s pure electric between the two. There is jealousy, first time steamy times, a little drama and a kindling romance that wraps it all together nicely.

I did have a slight annoyance over Ryan just because of how he treated his father but he has his reasons and by the end of the book that annoying feeling went away.

Also!!! I will be (im)patiently waiting for book two because I just know Jay’s story is going to be something worth reading.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys best friend’s father trope, age-gap (it’s legal), first time and interesting secondary characters.

Best friends dad....YES!!!!!! I loved every single min of it. Age gap, is a fave or mine and this didn’t disappoint. The journey from just experiment to love was wonderful. The best friend was a bit of a jerk but other than that... swoon. I even was ok with not wanting to be called daddy.
Writing was great, smexy was hawt and side character (Jay) was fun.

I really liked this. For such a huge age gap romance, I think it did a pretty realistic job of addressing the complications and uncomfortable reality that comes with that. I wasn't sure how'd I feel about the couple themselves, but it doesn't come off as skeevy so points to JO there. Emery's moral/ethical dilemma actually gets some focus. Cason's struggle with himself gets equal page time and again is believable. Emery's son gets a lot of POV and time and I liked that. He's a typical teenage male. His reactions are full of anger, resentment, cringe (for the reader) and HUMANITY. For me, he never crosses the line into hateable. Jay is an interesting character, can't wait to see who catches him...I'll totally read his book.

I really wanted to love this book, but alas I did not. I love best friend's dad books. The blurb hooked me. I loved Emery and Cason together..they were funny, sweet and sexy and would have preferred to have spent a lot more time with them on their journey to falling in love and not just sex....I thought the rest of the characters, especially Emery's son aka Cason's best friend, were complete douchebags. If I was supposed to feel like he redeemed himself, I really didn't. I also would have liked Cason to be 20 not 18 but that is just me...The book was thin, rather predictable and it really lacked substance. There is a good story in there but for me, it just didn't pan out.

It's been a week, more or less, since I read this book and I want to change the number of stars I gave it. I'll give 3 stars.

I think it's a good story, and i have to say that i really like love stories with age gap, but despite that the story is quite normal. Emery says sometimes that with Cason he had the best sex ever, and lemme tell you that while you read those scenes you feel that it's not that good. It's average.
I don't remember the name of Emery's son, but I reaaaally hate him. He is a homofobic who hates his own father and a misogynist asshole who cheat on his girlfriends. I don't know why a good person like Cason has a friend like him. But whatever.

In conclusion I liked the love story between Cason and Emery but everything else wasn't that good.

This book is full of sexual tension. Cason and Emery have so much against them but they also have so much going for them. It's not an easy start as Emery tries to fight his attraction to the younger man, but Cason is too irresistible to resist and the chemistry between them doesn't allow them to deny one another for long.

Jaclyn Osborn usually writes very emotional books that are full of love and heat. This book has love and heat but little angst and it was so good. I'm convinced that this author is some kind of writing goddess as that's the only way I can explain how she's able to write all kinds of types of books with as much passion and finesse as she does.

Cason is so young, only eighteen, but he knows what he wants. After he comes into his sexuality he knows that he doesn't want just anyone. But the man who is patient and kind and treats him like he's supposed to be treated. Also, who is hot as fuck and amazing in bed. That man just happens to be his best friend's father.

Emery is lonely, even if he chooses to ignore it. He's now able to live as he's always wanted, an out man, proud of who he is. But it came at the cost of his relationship with his son. So, of course, that comes into play when he starts to feel things for his son's best friend.

When Cason and Emery first get together their relationship is explosive. They're great together but it was only meant to be a fling before Cason goes off to college, but that's how it always starts, doesn't it? When they start falling for each other it's so sweet because they need each other even though they feel guilty for keeping their secrets.

There are a lot of laughs in this book. Cason deals with a lot of emotional and stressful situations by making a joke and it's adorable. Yes, it's sexy, but it's also sweet and funny and the relationship between them feels so real and organic.

As with every book in this trope there's a little drama with Ryan, Emery's son and Cason's best friend, but that blows over okay. Ryan redeems himself a bit, though I think he has a long way to go and I kind of want a book about him so I can see him come into his own. Because there were many times I wanted to punch him. Though since this book was low angst, he was able to turn himself around enough to have a relationship with both his best friend and his father.

There are two other side characters of note in this book. One is Emery's friend and colleague, Jay or the blond bastard as he is both lovingly and not so lovingly referred to. He is so charismatic and he knows it and I cannot wait until he falls in love and gets knocked on his ass when he meets his match. And then there's Larry Lube. Yes, a bottle of lube makes a great side character and completely steals the show. So do all of his heirs.

His Temptation is a well-written book by an author who can write anything. Cason and Emery are so good together. They have their bumps of course but their love story is so right for them. I cannot wait to see what happens in the other books in the series because there are some characters that just need their stories told.

3.5 stars. An okay start to this one, the story is easy flowing for a best friends father to lovers story. Both Emery and Cason have the hots for each other but Cason was all new to his being gay. Sercets being kept are bound to come out. Hot sexy scenes included. I loved Casons humour in this he had some funny scenes. This is a good story for them but I was hope'n this would have something different to other books of this type. An good ending for this. Jay's book will be the next in line to be told.

Cason 18 yrs graduated high school with his friends out to party. Being best friends with Ryan he loved but having werried not straight thoughts about his father.
Emery 39 yrs was divorced and a defence attorney.

Jaclyn Osborn to her finest

I never read one book from Jaclyn that I didn’t love with fierce. And His Temptation doesn’t escape the rule. Again, she brings us a world we can get lost, forget about everything wrong around us and makes us feel through amazing characters a whirlwind of emotions and even sensations. I felt Emery’s pain more than once and Cason is one of the most interesting mix of a character I’ve seen from Jaclyn. He’s a beautiful complexity with both his soft side as well as his domineering, confident side, which is an explosive combination—it’s impossible NOT to fallllllllll for him so freaking deep. I would have taken so much of their seduction period because its legit addicting. and the connection between Cason and Emery is beyond palpable, its a mix of hotness and—of course, because we are talking about Jaclyn Osborn—and emotional, so well balanced, you cant put it down, all of her books are undeniable page flipper. I love Jaclyn’s work and its not secret she’s my favorite MM author but that feeling always increases every single time I read her word. She has a way to make you forget everything and just fall into another world that captivates, enlightens, seduces and addicts us instantly. I can’t, like REALLY CANT WAIT for Jay’s story because holy hotness, that secondary character almost steals the show sometimes—just enough to make us crave his story but not enough to distract us from our steamy couple here—and I had so many crazy scenario going on in my mind for that character. I can’t wait to discover Jaclyn’s, now. Impatiently waiting for the next instalment of this extraordinary series.
Its a five stars read again and trust me, you never can go wrong with Jaclyn Osborn. She NEVER disappoints. Never. In fact, she always exceeds my expectations. I incredibly addicting and emotionally steamy.

Emery and Cason, my new favorite. So happy this didn't have daddy/boy written all over it. I liked that what kept the story going was the secret being kept from Emery's son, Cason's best friend, Ryan.

Cason fell for his best friend's father, unbeknownst to what made his best friend the person he was today. Mouth drop on reveal!!! Emery never wanted to cause his son any more pain, but the pull of Cason was too much and soon he and Cason were knocking boots and lost in their world.

But secrets have a way of spilling. Can these men survive everything to find their way back to each other?

I loved Ems BFF Jay, and cannot wait for book two to see Jay get hogtied!!!

Emery a 37 ans.

Summary: Cason is 18 years old, just graduated from high school, and feeling like there’s something wrong with him—he’s just not into the girls who are in to him, but whenever he see’s his best friend’s dad, Emery, he gets tongue tied. Thinking he might be gay, he decides to try a hookup app—imagine his surprise when he shows up at the hotel room to find Emery. Emery is equally shocked to find Cason standing at the hotel room door. He’d agreed to meet up with the guy knowing he was 18, but not knowing his identity, because he hoped being with someone as young as Cason would help him let go of his attraction his son’s bff.

“I felt like I’d been with him for years—not months. We not only had incredible sex, but we also moved so easily around each other. It was what a relationship should be. Intimacy, communication, and trust.”

‘“Cason?” Emery grabbed my face with both hands and tilted my head up. His lips were inches from mine. “I’m a grown-ass man and can make my own decisions. Stop worrying and kiss me already.”’

Review: I enjoy a good age gap romance, but only if they’re done carefully. This is especially true when the younger person is so young. I worry about if the younger person had daddy issues and what the power dynamic is like. But I had nothing to worry about here. Osborn does a great job making it clear that Cason is mature for his age—and gives him a backstory to explain that. It’s also clear that while Cason hasn’t had healthy father figures in his life, he’s not looking to Emery for anything that even remotely feels like fathering. In fact, the only time he ever seems to push back agains Emery are when, early on while Emery is still struggling with his attraction to Cason, Emery does anything even remotely parent-like with Cason. This sort of deals with both my potential issues in one fell swoop—Cason is clearly not looking for a daddy (and both men want nothing to do with that kink in their relationship) and he is strong enough and mature enough to be clear what he wants. Once Emery has really listened to Cason and let himself stop focusing on Cason’s age, Emery always treats Cason as an equal. I really love that about this story. They are supportive of each other and they compliment each other—Emery helps Cason feel seen and safe, while Cason helps Emery feel more relaxed and whole and comfortable in his own skin—happy. For someone who had to hide his true self for so long, that is huge.

I like how the conflict involving Ryan, Cason’s bff and Emery’s son, was tied to Ryan’s personality as much as to his relationship to the couple—it made it more believable why Cason and Emery were so worried about Ryan finding out. And I loved Jay—what a fun, charismatic character. I love what a good friend he is to Emery.

Yeah, this is a good one! Definitely recommend it.

Apparently, I’ve been living under a rock. How am I just now finding out who Jaclyn Osborn is? For a couple of days know I was looking for an age gap romance (big fan of those) but couldn’t find anything new. I have a feeling that I’ve read them all. But while I was looking through Goodreads for some suggestion His Temptation caught my eye. After I read the blurb for the book I was nicely surprised that I liked it. MM romance is not my thing but I decided to give it a try. This book was my third MM romance and I can say after I finished it will be defiantly not mu last. Jaclyn Osborn did an amazing job with this book I simply couldn’t put it down. The story wasn’t rushed and everything at the right moment.

His Temptation is the first book in the Desires of the Heart series. This is Cason and Emery's story. Cason is 18 years old who just graduated from high school. He has the whole summer to spend with his best friend Ryan before they both go to different colleges. Ryan and Cason were complete opposites. They were like brothers. Cason’s family wasn’t a family. With a mother who was high all the time and didn’t care about her son and a father who left them, Cason didn’t have anyone who cares for him, except for Ryan. So, what can happen with their relationship if Ryan’s dad Emery sees Cason more than his son’s best friend?

Emery and Ryan had a strong father-son relationship. But everything changed when Ryan got his father kissing another man. That shook for Ryan seeing his father with another man, after that day their relationship fell apart. Ryan hated his father and hated everything he was. Emery was devested, finally, he was free but he lost his son. Emery always knew who he was but born in a conservative family he couldn’t be himself. Emery always was attracted to men but because of what people think and his family he married a woman.

With time Emery and Ryan's relationship got better but not as good as before. And here is where Cason comes. Cason was confused about himself. He didn’t know why he was so attracted to Emery. Little did he knew Emery was even more attracted to Cason. One night changed everything and nothing could go back the way it was for them.

Emery and Cason fall in love. But sometimes people don’t understand love. What will happen between Emery and Cason when the person who is closed to them became the reason for them to fall apart? Read to find out!

Jaclyn Osborn, you have a new fan who can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Steamy and very close to taboo M/M love story…Will secrets ruin everything? LOVED it.
Love two buff males falling in love especially if one is new to the whole experience! Add in that one is considerably older than the other. Wowza…Some really great moments: professing love, accepting the situation, “feeling” the love, telling off the moochers, finding a new friend and especially, getting back what you lost. It was well-written, so passionate and compassionate. I have no problem with twinks but I like my M/M between two well-built masculine men.
Cason is 18yo, getting ready to graduate from HS, football player and still a virgin even though there are any number of girls willing to help him with that. He’s confused about his sexuality and his BFF Ryan is sending him homophobic messages. Ryan’s father Emery has divorced his wife of nearly 16 years and come out as gay. Ryan is such an a** about it too. I like how Ms. Osborn has shown the juxtaposition of situations in that he can’t accept his father being gay while Ryan can sleep around and cheat on multiple girls, but somehow he views that as OK. I think the author has written some detestable albeit redeemable characters.
Emery is 37yo, a defense attorney and gay. Finally, after so many years he does not need to hide but he still feels badly about the way in which Ryan found out. Whenever Cason comes to visit with Ryan, Emery gets nervous feelings and he can’t explain it. And, Cason on these visits can’t help but feel odd too. What could it mean? Wow! Their meet-cute is just what the book needed. There are funny parts, sad parts and very many steamy parts. When things go bad, they go really bad…get your tissues ready. I truly enjoyed this book. Can’t wait for Jay’s book.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and it comes highly recommended if you like M/M romance with explicit scenes.

His Temptation is my first Jaclyn Osborn book. (I know, I know I've been living under a rock.) I have wanted to read this author for a while now and I'm happy I finally got the chance. I really enjoyed His Temptation.
The May - December, bestfriend's dad, forbidden romance between Cason and Emery was hot and sweet! These two had me flipping the pages!

Having the hots for your 18 year old son's best friend is a recipe for diaster! Especially, if he's irresistible and wants you too!

Defense Attorney, Emery Cross likes order and control in and out of the court room. After a failed marriage and him coming out. He lives a solidary and loney life. Sure, he hooks up but nothing substantial...
Until he throws caution to the wind and opens himself up to a too young, too innocent Cason! He knows being with him is all sorts of wrong, but Cason makes his feel things, he never knew he could....
Would the blow up be worth the reward?

Cason is just beginning to explore his sexual awakening. Finally realizing he's gay. Now, he knows why he's extremely drawn to his best friend Ryan's dad. The older man makes him want things....

After a crazy night of them admitting their attraction to one another. It is on! Once they had a taste, neither one of them can stay away from the other. I loved the sneaking around, secret hook ups, private texts. Cason still wasn't out and it was all hidden from Ryan. I should have felt bad for Ryan, but I didn't. He was a bit of a self centered douche. Cason was such a good friend to him and I didn't see it being reciprocated. Most of the time, it was just all about Ryan. So, when the crap finally hit the fan and their relationship was exposed, I was glad! Would they break up or could they finally be together?

I was thoroughly entertained by His Temptation and loved all the characters. It ended up giving me all the feels!
