Jean Henri Dunant, Swiss philanthropist, founded the international Red Cross in 1863 and shared the Nobel Prize of 1901 for peace.

Henry Dunant, a man and social activist, conducted business. During a business trip in 1859, he witnessed the aftermath of the battle of Solferino in modern day Italy. He recorded his experiences in A Memory of Solferino , the book, which inspired the creation of the committee in 1863. Ideas of Dunant based the Geneva Convention of 1864. In 1901, he received first together with Frédéric Passy.

نویسنده با استادی تمام شرح جنگ اطریش و فرانسه را میدهد و در ادامه به وضعیت زخمی ها و کشته های جنگ میپردازد و با جزییات دقیق ما را با روی بسیار زشت جنگ روبرو میسازد و صحنه های مرگ مجروحان ، قطع عضو و ...یادآوری میکند که جنگ چقدر مزخرف و بی خود است. ولی در عین حال دلایل پایه گذاری صلیب سرخ و اعلامیه جهانی را میگوید. چقدر اینگونه افراد برای بشریت لازم اند
قطعا کتاب ارزش خواندن را دارد.
نسخه صوتی را گوش دادم با صدای آرمان سلطانزاده کیفیتش عالی بود.
