Omega Maya keeps to herself working the fringes of known space to salvage derelict ships and other resources. She wants nothing to do with Alphas, so when Remy shows up at her current salvage operation, she’s at first displeased. He soon starts to win her over, but when her suppressant stops working, and he realizes she’s an Omega, he’s intent on claiming her. Maya doesn’t want to be any Alpha’s Omega, even Remy’s. Can she enjoy the pleasure he offers without surrendering everything she is and believes in or succumbing to her biological imperative to submit?
Remy’s been searching for his Omega for years, and he’s convinced he’s found her in Maya. She stirs his need to love and protect, and it pains him that she doesn’t want what he’s offering. He understands the traumas in her past, but can he help her overcome them to embrace a future together?

I had never read an Omegaverse story before, so I decided to give this one a try. The writing is OK -- but I didn't like it, because I couldn't stand the Omegaverse world. This one gets 2 stars from me.
The Omegaverse is basically a caste system, where everyone is born to be either an alpha, omega, or beta. The omegas are basically expected to be an alpha's possession and sexual plaything. If they get lucky, and have a good alpha (like Remy in this story), they can be happy. But if they get a bad alpha, they can be raped or terribly abused. I couldn't stand a world where it was considered OK for a sentient being to be another one's property. So I won't be reading any more romances based in the Omegaverse world.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
The writing and editing in this novel was super clean, with few typos that I could detect in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building was fairly minimal but interesting, and the society described by the heroine was fascinating. The characterization was competent, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, considering the short page count of this story. The plot and pacing was very exciting, with me rapidly turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. This story had low angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Mating Bond trope which is a staple of omegaverse romance. This was the author's first foray into omegaverse romance, though she has written many sci-fi romances. She did a good job for a newcomer to omegaverse, I thought. The world building, plot and pacing were four stars. The development of the romantic relationship and characterization were also four stars. Therefore, the combined score for this novel was four stars. This story ended on a Happy Ever After instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus for this story, since many m/f omegaverse stories are multiple book series which all end on cliffhangers. That is not my favorite. I recommend this story to fans of this author's sci-fi romances and fans of m/f omegaverse romances. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel right now, though I quite enjoyed it and may buy it later if the author turns it into a series.

This thoughtful sci-fi romance explores the concepts of freedom and social inequality woven into a lovely romance novel.
In a universe where the alphas have all the power and omegas have none, to remain free of an alpha's influence, Maya lives a lonely life as a salvage operator working out in a far-flung asteroid belt. Her inferior omega status was brutally imprinted on her psyche as a result of some harrowing events in her youth. She is bound and determined to never submit to an alpha after these horrifying experiences and will do anything to maintain her independence.
When Remy, a handsome alpha appears at her salvage site, Maya is determined to keep her omega status from him. The primary goal for any alpha is to find and bind an omega to him. Many of those alphas, however, treat their omegas as playthings or objects to be used and abused. Maya won't permit that to happen to her. As Maya and Remy work together on salvaging several derelict ships she is attracted to the beautiful and kind alpha despite her fears. Remy has become convinced that Maya is his omega and wants nothing more than for her to submit to his claim. Unlike many in Maya's past, he won't force her, but he will do anything he can to show her that he is a good person and worthy of becoming her alpha. Driven to love, cherish and protect her, Remy will put his life on the line to do just that.
Four stars for this sci-fi romance. A bit more story about the society's structure (alpha, beta, omega statuses) in this universe would have been welcome.

This world is one where a social structure is based in part, but not entirely, around being an alpha, beta, or omega designation. Maya's omega designation has been nothing but negative for her, especially in the face of what is considered permissible for those who are alphas. As a result, she dulls her omega traits with injectable suppressants and avoids human contact as much as she can. She does well with that set up until a charming alpha shows up and weasels his way into working a salvage ship along with her.
He is unlike any of the alpha's she's encountered; he's charming, considerate, polite, helpful, all to the point that Maya agrees to a temporary work partnership. But the dangerous nature of their work reveals what they are to each other. Maya and Remy face a number of options. Remy can stay by her side as a friend and work partner, and nothing more, but Maya will risk running out of suppressants and not having the protection of an alpha mate, or they can become mated, compromising Maya's need to distance herself from the societal roles that have imprisoned her. She will weigh these options while facing that trauma head on!
I really enjoyed reading this book, even the scenes where Maya and Remy are salvaging the ships. The scenes we so detailed and involved that I wanted to continue to explore these broken down ships floating in space. I was sad when they would return to their ships for the evening, because I wanted to keep exploring!

Maya had finally found a better way to survive her life now revolved around salvaging scrap metal from huge wrecks. She'd technically been there first but she didn't trust anyone especially not an alpha and that's exactly what he was. But she didn't want to draw to much attention to herself so for the moment yeah she'd agree. Remy was more then willing to compromise there should be plenty for both of them. However he'd really had hoped they could have worked together but he understood her reluctance to do so and he would respect her wishes. Maya realized to late that she just made the worse mistake ever and now she couldn't stop herself. Remy knew exactly what she was the moment Maya's scent hit him and like a moth to the proverbial flame he moved towards her and in the end he'd make sure they both burned. After she'd shared her sad tale with him Remy could understand Maya's reluctance to trust anyone especially someone like him, because there were tons of dumb idiots who thought being an alpha gave them carte blanche in this world. What he really needed was to prove that just because he was an alpha didn't mean he'd would treat her beneath him in fact he wanted to show Maya just how much he truly treasured her.

3 1/2* This is a short read. It takes place in the world of tomorrow and space flight is common. In this universe there are alphas, betas, and omegas. Omegas are highly sought after by alphas. An omega's smell drives alphas crazy and there is the concept of fated mates. The problem is omegas have no rights. An alpha can rape one in the street and it is legal because supposedly the smell takes them over and they are not responsible for their actions. This happened to the h and ever since then she has taken suppressors to mask her smell and lived alone on her ship supporting herself by salvaging dead ships. She is at a site doing so when another ship arrives with an alpha. She has laid claim to the area of space meaning only she has the right to salvage there. There is some misunderstanding because the H says it is his area. Apparently they registered their claims at the exact same time. At first she demands that they each salvage different ships but when they come across a large one she agrees to work with him. Unfortunately at some point her suppressors stop working and they frantically end up having sex. She runs and refuses to let him mark her so that she doesn't become his. From there they work it out, add in some bad guys, a little action and then they get their hea.

A great book of Remy waiting for Maya to profess her love for him. Maya‘s mother started giving her anti-suppressant’s when she hit puberty so no male alpha would go near her. The only problem, Maya’s mother died without telling her and put her at risk. This made her sent highly arousing for alpha males. Maya learned to hate alpha males and to constantly have a stream of suppressant in her body after an alpha male attacked her in the street and everyone watched her get violated. When she meets Remy who is an alpha, she thinks he is like all the others and doesn’t want to give him the time of day. They work side-by-side salvaging a ship and every once in a while Remy gets a whiff of her and knows she is his Omega. She never wants to allow a man have possession over her and be submissive, but she comes to find out that Remy is not like that at all. He is a protector and a lover and will do anything to make sure she is safe. This is such a good book. You can tell that Remy is wearing her down and that he truly loves her and is trying to instill that love in her for him.
This book was awesome and I loved the strong female lead Maya Broward who just wants to live her life on her terms and doesn’t need a man or a alpha telling her what to do because she is an omega and takes suppressant to hide it from all. But her peaceful life is about to change when Remy shows up at her salvage spot and not wanting to draw attention to herself she agrees to let him have the other side of Wreckage but she feels this is a mistake because he is definitely an alpha male and she mustn’t let her guard down. Remy has been looking for his omega mate for a long time and new straight away what Maya was when her scent hit him and lust took over the pair of them but it ended to soon and she walked away. Remy has to find a way to keep her but after she told him she was raped by an alpha he understood her reluctance at being claimed. Do they get the HEA read this great book to find out.

I hate giving a bad review and I am sorry! I went into the book not knowing any of this author's other work and when I started to read about omega and beta and alpha I had NO idea what all this meant. I kind of figured it out, but I wish the author would have explained a bit as to what all these hierarchies meant. There is a trigger within the book, which needs to be mentioned, as it is referred to on more than one occasion. The heroine is basically raped for being what she is in the past, and she refers to it 2 more times? The end has another almost rape scene as well. The ending was a bit too lacking; I wondered how this world would be ok for these people?? I LOVE different worlds and ways of culture, but this one, with its rape and possible worry for future daughters, turns me off, sorry!

Maya is an Omega who deliberately works away from everyone in the fringes of space salvaging space junk, derelict ships, and any other resources she can sell. Above all, she wants to avoid aggressive Alphas and is not happy when the alpha Remy shows up at her current salvage site. She is suppressing her scent, but when he recognizes what she is, he wants to claim her for his own. Maya doesn’t want to submit or be any Alpha’s Omega, even the kind, gentle, polite Remy’s. Can he change her mind? He will never try to force her, but can he convince her of what she really means to him and that he wants a future with her?
This is a sweet romance that builds as they work together and learn to trust. Remy is not like other brutal alphas who take what they want and mistreat the female. He wants to love and protect. Will Maya believe him, will she let him show her she can count on him?
Maya is a omega who takes suppressants to dull the omega gene inside of her she works salvaging ships so that helps her as well no contact with others until Remy who is an alpha shows up and talks Maya into helping her salvage the ships. Maya is determined to hide her being an omega from Remy she is very attracted to him he’s caring not like other alphas then Maya’s suppressants stop working and her scent hits Remy he knew that she was an omega. Maya told Remy of her fears he understood but he wanted to prove to Maya that she would be his equal and not some lowly omega who gets abused. Wow I’ve read a lot of alpha and omega stories and I definitely feel sad for the omegas who are abused by their alphas but Maya had a good alpha there in Remy. Fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely and I recommend this book.
Maya salvages in the asteroid belt then the ship Raven arrives with its owner Remy. Omega Maya works alone with only Swish her mechanical pet salvaging anything valuable from the wreck that litter the asteroid belt. Since an attack that had resulted in her brother's death she has avoided Alphas and taken suppressants so she is not happy when a ship called the Raven arrives piloted by an alpha male. Alpha Remy Cruz had been working aboard a larger ship but when he finds it is carrying illegal cargo he leaves at the next stop off and decides to go it on his own. He has also had enough of casual encounters with the opposite sex and is now looking for an omega of his own. When he encounters a female salvaging in the asteroid belt on her own he is intrigued.

Remy is a very sweet Alpha, a perfect one for Maya. Unfortunately this world is one where Alphas often are bullies and take advantage, hurt, etc Omegas, which Maya is. She was brutalized in the past and saved by her brother, though he paid for it. Since then she’s hated Alphas, which is completely understandable- I would too. Omegas and to an extent Betas have no power. The good Alphas need to make an effort of changing this world- but as of yet it hasn’t happened. That being said, Remy is a wonderful Alpha, he’s protective and loving. He believes an Omega should be cherished. I love how he wins her over.

The story is short but complete, I appreciated the fact that the author wrote a female lead who challenged her way of thinking when she realized her choices could be hurting herself, and that the author made the point that not all people who share a cohort are not necessarily the same. The book does not shy away from themes of rape or of hormone suppressants, which could be triggering for some, though I appreciate the healing we see associated with the former and the author's final stance on the latter. There are some fairly graphic intimate scenes that I jump over because I do, so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone younger than the legal age to go see an R rated movie, but for anyone else it's a good read.
I'll admit to being on the fence about this version of the Omegaverse - I'm too adult and too female to feel totally comfortable in world where biology dictates not only destiny, but behavior as well. It's Juno Wells' story, though, and I decided to stick with it. Turns out, Alpha's don't have to be jerks, or rapists, or selfish lovers. Remy, our Alpha hero, is a really-o truly-o nice guy. He respects his Omega enough to woo her and win her, old school. And Maya may be an Omega, but she's not weak-willed or a coward. I enjoyed reading about these two. I guess there are good guys and strong women to love them in every world. Good to know.
I really was sucked into the story of this book and the slower pace of the relationship between Remy and Maya. Like all Omegaverse, it moved quickly, but there was a greater sense of awareness with both Remy and Maya that I was grateful for. Now, in the beginning its a little tedious because I feel the writing gets a little blocky and doesn't flow as well. There were also instances where things are explained repeatedly. As a reader that annoys the neck out of me so I did skim when it came to those parts, that way it didn't influence my overall attitude towards the book. I liked the authors unique take on the genre so I'm gonna continue on with her series.
For an Alpha Remy proves himself to be an okay guy, at least in they eyes of Omega Maya... And while that may sound like faint praise to some, coming from a woman with countless reasons not to trust Alphas, it's high praise indeed.
Remy is an Alpha who doesn't give the phrase "biological imperatives" lip service. He has actually thought not only about what it means, but what it means to him. When he meets the Omega who is more than he could have ever hoped for, he doesn't just act on instinct... he conquers his instincts, in some respects he does what she fears to do as he works to earn her trust, and prove his worthiness, all while giving her the time she needs.
In every way that counts, Remy is the ultimate Alpha.

Enjoyable and entertaining read. Plenty of intrigue, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. What I liked most about this book was that Remy shows Maya don't judge book by its cover even though she was well in her right to do so. Overall a good read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. The first book in the MF Omegaverse SFR series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Omega Maya has had a very hard past with the Alphas that have come into her life, as they think an Omega is theirs to use. Maya is now on her own as a salvage collector, she does not want an Alpha i n her life. But then Alpha Remy comes into her life. The story has suspense, drama, danger, a evil Alpha, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very quite read. Maya is trying to live her life. She is an Omega and she hates it. She has been tormented by her past. Remy has been work for one one thing. To find his Omega. So on a distant planet while scrapping a fines a woman. But at first he believes her to be a beta. But when they are on a salvage together he finds out that she is an Omega. But not only that but has Omega. Will their past keep them apart? I will be recommending this book to family and friends. Joy

Maya is an omega who hides her being an omega with suppression. Remy is an Alpha who comes to salvage in a meteor belt where Maya is already there. Maya had a bad past with Alphas. Remy seems to be different. Will Maya learn to trust any Alpha? What will happen when Remy's old boss shows up? This was an interesting book. It showed that there can be different types of men and how they act and how they should act. I enjoyed this book. Thank you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
This is a change. Instead of an Alpha that is darkly dominating and brutal when presented with an Omega, here is Remy looking for his Omega, to love and cherish, while Maya has only known the brutal side of Alphas. They take Omegas and claim them against their will. It's a sweet love story between them as he convinces her that she can trust that he isn't like the others. I really liked it.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I was very impressed. It’s a gripping omegaverse book, without any of the dark undertones which is so prevalent in the genre. I couldn’t put it down and was totally engrossed in the story. I loved the romance between the two main characters and will definitely be looking for more books by this talented author.

An omegaverse where not all Alphas are alphaholes. Maya is an omega and has chosen to suppress it and live a life alone in space. She scavenges wrecks in space. Remy is an alpha that has chosen a similar life but only until he finds the one omega for him. The romance builds in the story as the two get to know each other and face danger together. Remy is a very sweet male that wants to protect and cherish the one that will be his omega.
While not terrible per se there was very little to this one. The omegaverse is unappealing to me and while the main characters were OK, that is all they were. Just ok. If all you want is physical sex this book has it, but if you want romance or emotional depth ...not so much. I won't be looking for more like this.
Maya had been abused by an alpha and did not trust any. She was working on salvage to earn money. Remy came to the area to do the same. When Maya interacted with Remy she was very Leary of him because he was an alpha. They had some romance and some drama.
