Fourth in a series of short interviews and bios of Power Pop groups and artists mostly from the 1980s like the Bangles, Smithereens, Crowded House, Mathew Sweet, The Go Gos, the Pursuit of Happiness and more. Planned as a 6-book series, with each volume reserved and printed as sold, I'm not so sure than there will be a Volume 5 (which had previews in the volume), or a volume 6 because the sales may not support publishing the last two volumes. Ken Sharp was able to interview many artists for this book, and previous volumes, before many of them passed on...so it's mostly written in the present tense. I enjoyed it as it was possible to pick up and put down the book, and pick is back up again later as each chapter was a self-contained story of the artists in question...so, it was a nice break or diversion while I was reading books about heavier and more complex issues. Sharp has written many entertainment/musical-related books, and it would be a shame if he was unable to finish this series...here's hoping we'll eventually see and enjoy future volumes in this series.
