Liang introduces a book list for students to study traditional Chinese culture. It selects around 20 essential books out of the thousands of books in 四库全书:
《四書》、《易經》、《書經》、《詩經》、《禮記》、《左傳》、《老子》、《墨子》、《莊子》、《荀子》、《韓非子》、《戰國策》、《史記》、《漢書》、《後漢書》、《三國志》、《資治通鑒》(或《通鑒紀事本末》)、《宋元明史紀事本末》、《楚辭》、《文選》、《李太白集》、《杜工部集》、《韓昌黎集》、《柳河東集》、《白香山集》。
You can put yourself in the shoes of a traditional Chinese scholar and start off a journey into these cultural readings. Although compared to Liang, I like Zhidong Zhang's reading suggestions in 劝学 more, as well as his book list 书目答问. For more info, you can check my previous review.
