She's seeing things that aren’t really there. Or... are they?

Meet Molly McMurray, a feisty little redhead who's finally on the path to the career she's always dreamed of. Or, rather, she was, until HE showed up and ruined everything.

Now she's seeing and hearing things no one else does, her future as a cop is in jeopardy, and somewhere along the way, she's picked up a stalker. But that's not the worst of it.

What scares Molly the most is that her first, and possibly last, case bears an eerie similarity to what is happening to her now. The victim was seeing things too…and she ended up dead.

Danger. Suspense. A story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A book that keeps you up all night reading because you just have to see what happens next...

It's what we're all looking for. The type of book that reaches out, grabs you and doesn't let go. Oh, it has its drawbacks. Nothing gets done. No cooking, no cleaning, no laundry. People call your name and you don't even respond. But it's worth it. Because you've found another place. Another world. And just for a little while, you're part of it.

I'm Cat Gilbert, and I write the Taylor Morrison Psychic Thrillers and the Molly McMurray Mysteries. In both series I try to give you, the reader, that experience. Characters you can connect with, a gripping plot chock full of action, danger, and enough twists and turns that even I have a hard time keeping up.

The The Taylor Morrison series centers around Taylor Morrison, a private investigator whose life is turned upside down when she suddenly develops psychic abilities. We're not talking X-Men, comic book, mutant type stuff here. Instead, this is the kind of thing you've always wondered about. Or at least I have. The idea that maybe we aren't utilizing our brains to their fullest. That maybe if we tried hard enough, we could do stuff and if we could, what sort of ramifications that would have.

The Molly McMurray Mysteries is a new series. The main character is, of course, Molly McMurray. There's a psychic 'twist' to this series as well, and his name is Kaegan. Who he is, and the role he plays, I'll leave to you to discover.

Having moved over 32 times, Cat Gilbert now makes her home in Arkansas with her husband and their dog, Clancy. When she's not writing, she spends her time trying to figure out a way to keep the deer from eating her blackberries and fig trees, experimenting with new Paleo recipes, and attempting to convince Clancy that playtime has to wait until she finishes the chapter.

I am new to Cat Gilbert’s writing, reading her Taylor Morrison series a few months ago. I waited in anticipation for her new book, False Reality, to be published, hoping not to be disappointed. Needless to say, I got very little done once I started because I couldn’t put the book down! I told my husband, “I can’t wait for her next book to be released” and he said, “so that means I won’t see you for a couple of days?” He can count on that! False Reality and the Taylor Morrison Series are worthy of your time!

I enjoyed the story and kept reading though I wasn’t crazy about some of the dialogue and aspects of the plot. I was a little unclear on Molly’s age and not fond of her family/brother being “in charge” of stuff and having a say. The villain’s dialogue was a bit cheesy too. The supernatural bit was a surprise, but entertaining. I’d consider reading another book in the series if it comes out.

interesting premise and

Engaging storytelling-the premise is laid out in the blurb, but the interest in the human story and the tale we watch unfold is the heart of the matter and is enough to stimulate interest. There was somehow a letdown at the very end, perhaps just the melancholy that any murder brings-that of a life unfinished, plans unable to be attempted or completed.

Molly and the universe she lives in is fascinating. We can see her beginning her career and what kind of person she is. She and Keagan are very smart and imposing detectives. I am eager to see where the adventures go in the future.

I loved the Taylor Morrison books and now another great series with great characters. I love Molly and her partner Kaegan and her best friend Sabas! I hope we get to know her brothers and sister better - they could develop into great characters!
