I never imagined I'd settle into life in a gambling town, yet here I am, chasing down nuisance demons for the vampire mafia and training as part of an elite demon-hunting team. As my powers continue to develop, so do my feelings for Saxon, the sexy angel-vampire hybrid. Unfortunately, our romance is forbidden by the Pride, so we're forced to rely on dream walks and stolen glances in between dangerous missions. Demon tracking takes a back seat when news of a magical artifact surfaces and quickly becomes the organization's top priority, never mind that we're being hunted by a militant fae group. The search for the Sunstone leads to an unexpected place, uncovering long-buried secrets and a painful betrayal that will test me more than any showdown with a Plague demon ever could. It becomes painfully clear that, when the chips are down, the only one I can bet on is me.

Callie is working with the Pandora’s Pride group, when she comes across some information about her father. It’s not long before Callie realizes that not everything she has been told is the truth, and startling secrets are revealed.
The third book in the series is a big one. It’s still a fast paced and action filled story, it’s just that the revelations that take place answer most (if not all) the burning questions we have had so far. We see some romance, but we also see truths, and as always they aren’t always good ones. An enjoyable (and a little surprising) addition to the series.
It’s not a standalone book, so you need to go and read the ones that came before. And though it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, you’ll want to line up the next book because it does leave an open ended finish!
We get some serious turning point revelations for Callie in this third book of Pandora's Pride! At the beginning of the book, she finally seems like she's really settling into her new situation, between her work with the Pride and with the casino, and her growing relationships with those around her. But, as with the previous two books, something just feels "off." As she continues her own pursuits, it becomes evident that there is a lot more than meets the eye to her father's death. It ends on a stunning note, and I'm glad that book 4 is already out because I'm picking it up! Callie and I need answers!
Five Card Fae is Book 3 in the Pandora's Pride Urban Fantasy Series by Annabel Chase. Wow! This one knocked me off my feet in the best possible way. The author has an incredible talent for world building and creating dynamic complex characters. I love Callie, the protagonist and she is constantly surprising me. There is a major plot twist and I was like WHAT and then YES!
Definitely read the first two books in the series to get the great back story. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. Though I know it will be the last I am excited to see how the story turns out.
A truly fantastic story. I love how the main character is not only compassionate, but also strong and capable in her own right. I’ve really enjoyed reading Callie’s story so far and am looking forward to more. I also love seeing how Callie has grown as a character, and look forward to seeing how she handles telling the others what she’s learned about the origins of her powers and their own.
This is the continuation of Callie’s story with Pandora’s Pride and the adventures they get involved in. It is well written, is very exciting and even has a little romance in it. We learn a lot about Callie’s past in this book, The story has plenty of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. An easy read.
If you’ve been reading this series, you know by now that Callie is not a mage: half or otherwise. Fasten your seat belts, because Callie is about to find out what and who she truly is. While I enjoy all of Ms Chase’s series, this one is particularly earthy and gritty. I cannot recommend it enough.
Entertaining urban fantasy adventure series. An outstanding cast of characters with a unique storyline. The world as we humans new it has ended. An ancient dimension were the most evil demons were placed has been opened and those demons have rampage across earth. Unknown to most humans there were always supernatural beings living among us and hiding in the shadows. Werewolves vampires witches angels and even the Fai. Since the return of the demons the supernaturals are out in the open and fighting to save what is left of earth. Certain species of supernatural control certain cities with areas in between dangerous and wild with demons and pherril supernatural. Callie is part of a group called Pandoras pride. A group of supernatural‘s that go out and destroy the demons. Follow along on her adventures as she learns more about herself and the New World she is living in. An action packed urban fantasy that will entertain you from beginning to end.
.. Callie, away from her work, seeks more information about her father and tracks down the son, Max, of the man Canute owed his debt to.. Max mentions that his father was trying to obtain the sunstone and that he'd sent Canute to track the scientist who supposedly knew where it was.. he then tries to trap Callie so the Order of Beltane can kill her.. she escapes with the help of the rest of the Pandora's Pride team taking one of the Knights with them they return to HQ and weirdly switch from everything else to being sent on a mission for the sunstone.
It's as if the initial part of the story disappeared.. they were doing one thing and then suddenly like it was the mission everything is turned around to find it.. there's no reason given and none of them question the sudden change in plans.. the reason they want it is clearer at the end but it isn't really threaded in properly and it all feels a bit jumpy, a bit too much of a change in direction.. as are some of the explanations that follow..
Oh man! So now we know. Now we all know all of that drama unraveled. Callie travels to learn after leaving the pride with no explanations and they’re lost without her. But she has her own missions. There’s a lot riding on Callie returning because the demons are coming. I’ve literally fallen in love with this unique and intriguing world and the characters. I want so bad for Callie and Saxon to get their happy ending. I want Nathaniel to stay. I want to know why. And what’s going to happen. I just can’t put this series down. It’s quite magical and a beautiful whirlwind of amazing!!!
The team is training and being sent on some very odd missions. The Order of Beltane shows up a couple of times too. Then things start to get iffy. Her dream walking leads her to the same location twice, but its not a place she ever remembers seeing. Then, when she really sees it, it is creepy and everybody gets hurt. But the realizations and information are sending her backwards. Excellent read.
Callie is intent on finding out her father’s secrets; finding out he died twenty-five years ago was not what she had in mind. Her genetic profile is 100% human, but she has a lot of extra traits.
In this book, all the doors of her past open. And the truths are less than palatable. Now, Callie needs time and distance to put the pieces together.
This one was a little slower in the beginning than the other for me. However, by around the 30 percent mark it picked up and was good through the end. This could be because I'm reading these as they're released as opposed to binge reading which is normal for me with these types of books. After all, this is really just one long story that is best read all at once and savored along the way.
For a woman who traveled into the unknown to get answers about her father's death, she was deliberately obtuse about the clues presented to her. I'm glad that she (and we) are finally getting some explanations. Despite this annoyance I have enjoyed the books.
Five Card Fae, book three of the Pandora's Pride series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). The series keeps getting better and the writer has maintained the same high-energy level through this third book in the series. Nice romance tension and plenty of surprises to keep the reader on edge.
I knew this series was gonna get better and better. I love the direction its going in. Can't wait to find out how Callie is going to handle this new info and how it will affect her and Saxon
Story builds nicely and with just enough background to pull the pieces together. I like the character development and the love story. Looking forward to the next in the series.
The first two were fine, nothing special, but this one I quite enjoyed and I feel like the series has figured out what it wants to be. It's rare I rate a sequel higher than the first book but here we are, making history.
Well.....at least some of the answers, and the big one is a doozy! I definitely wasn't expecting it. I'm shocked now, and can't wait to read the next book now.
Wow, that ending and the massive reveals! This was so good. The first 2 books were a little slower on the overall series arc, but this one was full of tasty tidbits and the ending had me so entranced. I am picking up the next one right now!
Three books down and the twists and turns continue… her style is slightly different with this series but very enjoyable! I’m looking forward to reading book four…
