How was i supposed to know the town founders sank a trunk full of cursed objects?
Seriously, they should have at least put a warning label on it because had I known, I would have left it at the bottom of the ocean. But they didn't, so I didn't, and now we've set dozens of artifacts into the hands of the blissfully unaware non-magicals who live in our small town.
It's not entirely my fault, though. Everything would have turned out fine had my pathologically organized sister not catalogued them and sent them to auction before I'd had a chance to test them for magical mojo. Now the items are scattered all over town, and I'll have to track them down one by one.
Lucky for me, I've got a heaping helping of ancient magic coursing through my veins, a best friend who's as powerful and loyal as he is sarcastic and charismatic, and a family with generations of experience managing dark artifacts behind us.
Join Sage Parker on her first adventure as she tracks down a pendant haunted by an angry spirit bent on finding a new body regardless of who she has to hurt to get it.
I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

I love all Tegan’s books that I have read so far and this is no different. It is entertaining, has interesting characters, a good story, no cliffhanger (though does lead you to want the next episode) and editing is good.
Entertaining supernatural urban fantasy/cozy mystery series
This is a new and entertaining supernatural urban fantasy/cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a unique and fun and entertaining storyline. Sage is a witch as is her entire family. They own and antiques gallery in a small Florida town. Her family goes out in fines treasures of all sorts to sell in their gallery. They also go out and find artifacts and treasures that happened to be cursed and dangerous to others. They retrieve those artifacts and cleanse them if they can or just try them if they can’t. An entertaining mix of characters and a fun family dynamic. Sage and her brothers and sisters and mother and father live in a all the state mansion in town. Her best friend Eli even has A room in the family mansion. Each other families children have gone to college to study a specific historical area to help with the family business. They each have a special witchy gift in which they use in their job as well. Follow along as they search out cursed artifacts and save others from being harmed by them. Yet to be seen if this is in the same world as the rest of the authors books and series. Check it out
Sage is a witch, Eli a warlock and Luther......who knows........ They live in a coastal town in Florida and Sage works in her family’s antique business, a lot of their stock is regular antiques btu the family specialises in magical artefacts. One of the most enjoyable things about living on the coast is getting to go diving for treasure ,,,,,,especially after a storm. That’s where Sage finds the trunk, when they get it back to the shop they find it’s full of magical items, some of which give off very bad feelings. Sage puts the trunk to one side to deal with next day but before she can get to it her sister finds the trunk and sends the contents off to auction. Now there’s trouble, turns out everything in the trunk was cursed, some curses are not too bad but most are dangerous, death if the curses are triggered bad. Now the race is on to track down and get back the items from the trunk. Luckily they have help in the form of Sylvia, a very strong witch and Luther her mysterious companion. A great first novel in what looks to be a great series
I've read many of this author's series but I am leery of starting new series by any authors for fear that I won't be able to keep the series straight. However, I had bought this book so I had to read it. :) I have to say that I'm glad I did.
Sage is the heroine who is a witch with a ton of magical talents. Her family members are also witches. They go out and find magical artifacts. This time it was a pendant and unfortunately, her sister put it into circulation in the population before it was thoroughly checked and examined. As one might suppose in a paranormal cozy mystery the pendant is cursed and there is a murder.
I did find this book a bit thin on plot but the time and care given to the character's personalities made up for that. All the characters have good background history and are written so they don't bore the reader. In fact, I felt the characters were much more interesting because of the way they were written.
I gave this book 4 stars because of the thin plot so I'm hoping book 2 will have the characters written in the same way and the plot given the same time and attention. If this happens, I will happily give the book 5 stars. :)
Paranormal Cozy is a sub-genre that has the ability to either take you to your happy place, or feel very cookie-cutter. There is a sameness from author to author and series to series, that makes it difficult to feel excited too easily. Clearly, this book didn't excite me. I need a main characters that are engaging, smart, personable, funny; side characters, family, neighbors who add a dose of quirkiness and an ambience to the location that makes me with to visit. I didn't get any of that here. To be fair, much of the can't-believe-they-were-that-stupid in the early part of the book was necessary to set up the storyline, but that didn't make it any easier to take. There was a Scooby-Doo feeling throughout...they were only missing Velma and a van. The series will probably be worth reading, if there's nothing better released at the same time, but I didn't love it.
I really enjoyed this merging of two genres I absolutely adore. Sage is self effacing and for a young woman she's very self aware. I'm hooked on what antique will come up next, how's it gonna manifest, what happens next with James, what's up with the poker playing talking skunk, and exactly who/what is Luther von Drake?
My only complaint is Sadie mentioned buying two pieces from the auction but other than the bedpan that roasts people alive, we don't know which of the other 39 she had (bedpan and ? were acquired by her at auction, the pendant this story followed was sold, as was a diadem and a pocket watch; 3 in store of 43 leaves 40 went to auction. We know she bought the bed warmer plus another piece)
I wonder if there could be a companion book that mimics the one they use to identify the replicas
Welcome to Tegan Maher’s new series: Paranormal Artifacts. I probably would have called this book “The Possessed Pendant:” you’ll understand why after you read the book. Sage, Jake, and Eli are three young adult witches who have to retrieve some very old, cursed objects, that were accidentally sold. As memory serves, there was a TV series with the same premise, but I digress. Aiding them on their quest are the mysterious Sybil, who’s over 300 years old, and her companion, Luther. By the way, there’s a lot more to Luther than meets the eye.
I literally could not put this book down; I ended up reading most of the night. Maher has struck gold with this series. Miss it, and you’ll be sorry!
Tegan does it again. What a great new series! The characters are so unique and well developed. The town is my favourite part. When I want to move there, you know it is well written. There are a lot of cozy mysteries out there. It is hard finding a unique series. This author already has 5+ series I adore...how could she top them? She did! This one was different. I have not seen paranormal treasure hunters before. The mystery sucked me in and I did not figure it out! Not to give too much away, but the premise leaves the door open for unlimited books! I highly recommend reading this new book!!
Tegan Maher has another hit on her hands. Sage and her crew are witches that now have to deal with artifacts that are three centuries old. Sage and her best friend, Eli, found them on a dive and there is some nasty curses on the items. They accidentally get sold and they now are in recovery mode but before they can find them, one makes an appearance. Being that this is the first in a new series we are just getting introduced to the characters but I believe that we are in for a great read along the way as we get more into the series. Great book. Well worth taking a chance on this first in series. I believe you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Sage and her best friend Eli find a chest filled with items on their dive. Sage needs to clean them of magic before they are sold. Sage finds the items have been taken and sold before she could. Sage has information on one item, this one will take more the Sage to deal with. Sage will look to another witch about the curses, that is when she meets Luther. It will take all of them to tackle this particular curse.
This book was really fun and entertaining. Sage is a really interesting character. The family dynamic is a wonderful balance to her world. Can't wait to learn more about the mysterious Luther and where things are going with Sage. I recommend reading this book
I want to belong to the Sage's family and be one of the characters in this series. This book was right up my alley and I wish the entire series was out because then I would have a terrific binge read. Sage and Eric got diving for treasure as is their custome on Saturdays and they discover an old trunk full of items that Sage's sister puts out for sale before they are checked and cleaned. Most of them are cursed and now they are all over town and Sage has no idea who has them. This was such a good book and now I don't think I can wait another month until the next one is due to come out. Tegan, you blew this series right out of the water with book one!!!
This cozy story makes living in Florida seem appealing, which it isn’t, to me. I can’t stand hot weather. Connecticut in summer is too much for me. But in a cute town like the one in this book, filled with interesting and magical people, it’s hard to resist. The story is that a trunk filled with magical/cursed artifacts has been found at the bottom of the town’s bay, and it’s up to Sage and her family and friends to track down the cursed items mistakenly sold on to unsuspecting people, and remove the curses. A fun premise for a cozy series, promising more interesting stories featuring a group of pleasant people.
The Haunted Pendant is the First Book in the brand new Paranormal Artificact Cozy Mystery Series. I am a big fan of Tegan Maher is this book is up to her high standard of writing.
Sage Parker is a fantastic main character. She is well written and multi-dimensional. The story is unique and different and one I have not seen done before.
Sage and her motley crew discovers paranormal artifacts.
The story was fantastic and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
Regan has always been one of my favorite authors starting with her Keyhole Lake series. This one has a whole new cast of characters with a large family and their witchy friends. It takes place in a pirate themed tourist town and starts with the discovery of a buried treasure. The treasure had been cursed during colonial times and the scattered pieces start to cause havoc amongst the townsfolk.
This is a great series starter book!! Tegan built good strong likable characters, that live in a beautiful area...which she can describe to a T. I mean if you're from The South you totally get it anyway. We also have a very interesting story plot that has lots of room to grow and divide. I for one, can't wait to see where she takes this series and definitely can't wait for Book 2 to come out.
The Parker's are all witches with different abilities and areas of expertise. This makes them perfect to run an antique and artifact business. Sage and Liam find a trunk of cursed artifacts, but before can be "cleansed" they are accidentally let loose on the public. Now the whole family and some new friends have to retrieve the items before someone gets killed.
Good first book of a new about a bunch of cursed artifacts accidentally getting sold before being cleansed. The characters have been introduced but there is a lot more to discover about them. The plot and subplots move quickly. I can't wait for the next book.
Very nice start to a new series. Lots appears that there will be a few decisions Sage may be forever to make in her love life. The bonds between the characters are tight as they should be. Hopefully we will see more of Sybil and Luther and learn that story.
Looking forward to the next search of a cursed item!
Is it just me or did that seem like it was very short? Sage, her friends and family are magical. Sage and her family have a antiquities business, out one day after a large storm they find a Large trunk that feels magical. Them basically all Hell breaks lose! I'm looking forward to the second in the series. Join me!
A whole lot of different types of magic and specialties are displayed by the characters in this series. It’s a solid basis for this series to have many different interesting situations. Plus, the relationships, mysteries, and humor among the main characters make this a fun series.
It started out well enough and the premise sounded quite intriguing. Sadly the neverending over-explaining of quite literally everything got tiring after awhile But it wasn't until the introduction of the potential love interests (cringe!) and the first hint at a love triangle that I lost complete interest. BUmmer. This could've been so much more fun
A great crop of characters, a Florida coastal town, a history of pirates, and of course witches all combine to create a promising, if perhaps too short, beginning to the series.
After this first book, I’m already anticipating the next. I fell in love with these new characters. Tegan Maher is one of my favorite authors and she keeps improving with each book.
I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd read this book and series before.. I was shocked to see the next two books aren't released until later this year! Maybe a bit slow, not enough anticipation, but that may be because of my feeling of deja vu..
I absolutely love this new series! I can't wait for more. Sage is such an interesting character and I can't wait to get to know her and all of her family and friends better.
One of the things I liked most about this was the initial sunken treasure hunting, which may just have been there to set up the ongoing mystery of the cursed artifacts. I guess I'll have to see. I enjoyed it enough to keep going, but I'm not super invested just yet.
Sage belongs to a family of witches and has a twin brother. Sage and Eli go diving, a storm has just come thru and it usually uncovers some interesting items. Eli has a bad feeling about the dive. They find a trunk but the items are cursed, she sister sends most to an auction. They have to find them.
I enjoyed this book very much. I'm going to definitely read the series. Though for some reason I want to make Sage be 17, 18, 19 age range. Not sure why I'm seeing her that age. It'll probably change once Iread more.
I enjoyed this book and I liked it for a first book in a series. I feel like I expected more, but that may be due to me knowing the characters in the other series already and these characters are brand new to me. I’m sure I will get into it because I liked the story and the setting a lot.
