SADDLE UP FOR THE NINTH BOOK OF THE HEART-POUNDING, BULLET-BURNING, BIBLE-THUMPING WESTERN SERIES!
There’s a monster in Lone Jack, Wyoming, and when Reno Bass and his twin sister, Sara, arrive to collect the bounty on the beast’s head, all hell breaks loose. When the smoke from the twins’ ’58 Remington cap and ball revolvers clear, a dying tattooed man threatens them with the guns of Legion.
Taken prisoner at Chronicle Rock by a giant named Elisha and the mysterious Charlie Bratt, King of Swallows, Reno and Sara are led to the Bar Seven ranch where Mendelssohn Jobe’s twisted circus is camped. Ranch owner Ben Huddleston has a soft spot for Sara that’s not forgiving enough to overlook the tattooed man’s murder.
After fighting a machete-crazed wildling named Lillith and wrestling a lion, the twins escape from the Bar Seven and resume their hunt for the beast.
But at the Bar Seven, Mendelssohn Jobe takes over the ranch in a vicious midnight attack. Huddleston needs Reno and Sara’s gun hands to save the day. Leading the stricken Rancher in a guerrilla war against the deadly menagerie, Reno and Sara race the clock to reclaim the ranch and save a dead man’s widow from a heinous fate.
AW Hart – Avenging Angels Bk 9 – Guns of Legion – Reviewed 5/17/20 – Read 5/13/20 Lions, tattooed man, dwarf, giant, and crazy woman, now to escape from a maniac circus nutcase!!!
When our Avenging Angels take on their next bounty, a monster brutalizing Lone Jack, WY, they could have never been prepared for the crazy people that they would find in the area. Sara & Reno Bass only know that people have been cut up, killed and some even just disappear. After narrowly escaping a crazed woman in the town's local restaurant, they are forced to fight off and kill a weird tattooed man, then the pair take refuge nearby in the hills. When a dwarf enters their camp and unexpectantly takes them captive, they arrive at the Bar 7 ranch. They tried explaining that they were only defending themselves, but the Bar 7 owner, Ben Huddleston decided that he will hold them and figure it all out when the Marshall and local judge arrive sometime in the next week. As we all know, as is too often things just do not go right for the pair, plus being held captive is not in their plans. When they try to escape Sara is attacked by a lunatic woman with a machete. Once the fighting is stopped, they find that Sara has a large cut in her shoulder. Ben takes them back to the ranch house and convinces them that Sara should not ride with the injury that she has… then things go even further south, and the story begins…
What did I like? Who in their right mind does not like the Avenging Angels books? We have all these awesome authors that come together and give us these amazing stories about our young twins. The astonishing thing is that every book has the same feel to it… The twins give us this feeling that the world really could be cleared of the truly maniacs that are taking up space in our dimension. The diversities of the authors that have come together in this way is a work of art. Each book just gets better and better, with the twins leading the way for all of us to get to know them.
What will you like? This one has a certain complexity to the storyline, not just the monster but a back story that will come to light when the chips get down. Intriguing characters, I mean you would not want to miss out reading about twisted, freaky, and crazy circus people? The action has been jacked up in this with almost every page having something happening. Throw in some excitement with fires and a lion and you got a heck of a book. This one is categorically the best so far. Another prize to be added to your western library, and it will be available on May 27th. You can pre-order here…
