Emily Finland, twenty-five, college graduate, hot mess, lover of all things cheese. Hasn’t had a date in a year. Yeah, that’s not something I would put in a dating profile. Ever. In fact, I can’t be bothered to date. There are so many awful guys out there. I much prefer to Netflix and chill with a pizza. But of course, my busybody best friend Charlotte was having none of that. She persuaded me to go on a blind date and even though I was reluctant, I decided to go. I never expected to meet a man like Liam Montgomery.Liam Montgomery, forty, rich, cocky, wears a rolex, likes expensive whiskey, completely out of my league. He was not who I would have chosen to have gone on a blind date with. Just because he was gorgeous didn’t mean he would make a good boyfriend. Plus he was way too old for me. That didn’t stop me from flirting with him though. Or from spending one very long exciting night with him. I’m not going to tell anyone about that night. Ironically, it turned out that Liam hadn’t even been my intended date. Oops!Unfortunately for me, hot mess Emily, the biggest shock of my life was still to come. For while Liam and I should never have been, he’s not about to leave my life quite that easily. You see I’m celebrating my dad’s retirement with my folks and Liam is also there. Only this time, he’s not alone.
I’ve read several of this author’s books, and this is NOTHING like her other work. This read like a first grader writing a report, the dialogue was as cheesy as anything I’ve ever read and I hated the h. Not sure what happened here!
Story line was to fast Editing and grammar check need to be better. The characters need more background or we need more story so we could know them better. Kinda disappointed... The beginning was great and everything else was fast and boring. The end is...
I loved book one in this series and I couldn’t wait to read Emily’s story and I was so happy that I did. It was great. I loved it. Emily and Matteo, who she only knew as Liam when she first met him, were so good together. They met when Emily thought he was her blind date and they spent one mind blowing night. She didn’t think that she would see him again but she does in the last place she expected, her parents’ house. I loved them together because they had great chemistry between them. It was hot and intense. This story will elate you wanting more. I highly recommend this read.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a the second part of a series that starts with The Billionaire's fake Fiancée, second is About Last Night and the concluder When We Were Us. It deals with three since college best friends Charlotte, Emily and Anabel and their romances.
It was disappointing and lack both continuity and cohesion. Lots of missing words, spelling and grammar and lack of a straight line between the three books.
The three girls came off as spoilt and rather stupid for so called educated ladies. Quite a change in character and plot between books 2 and 3 with Matteo. Others have made similar comments.
I'm not even really sure where to begin with this book. It was so all over the place and the characters kept getting mixed up. There was a ton of grammatical errors which normally would be no problem to overlook but this book just didnt do it for me at all. It had promise but there just wasnt anything in between to make this a smooth read. I was very disappointed with how this book turned out and was written. The Heroine was way too forgiving and had her priorities way backwards from what they should of been. I dont mind an instant attraction in books but how can you say you've fallen for someone after a one night stand. The insta love just made this book even more awkward. I personally would never give this book a second chance and to be honest I'm surprised I even finished it.
Borrow a friends kindle, well i say borrow she actually left it at my house. She said read the book i just bought. I am now questioning why i am friends with her. Lol!! Why would you make me read this? Why did i finish this book?
I have read other books by this author and i enjoyed them. But this, this it was lacking, it was empty, it was shallow.
Update - update - update
So I've come to a conclusion, {May not be right but what other explanation is there 🤔} due to all the 4 and 5 star reviews i am now beginning to believe i read a totally different book.
I have been getting teaser newsletters regarding About Last Night so I was absolutely beside myself when I was given an advanced copy. They way this one starts off you think it is going to be flighty and fun but the storyline changes to something I wasn't expecting but absolutely loved. A story of lust at first side, older hero with awesome side charters
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
DNF. Such potential... such waste. Love the idea of a blind date going wrong - great trope, but Emily was just ridiculous... her pussy must've been a unicorn ( and yesh, that doesn't really make sense... but... ) for Liam/Matteo/Whatever to have fallen so quickly. Such a silly set up...
If you like your romances filled with suspense, drama, twists and turns, mystery, secrets, lies, danger, undeniable chemistry, and hot sex, then check out About Last Night by J.S. Cooper. This fast-paced mafia romance story is riveting, intriguing, and unpredictable.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I found this story humorous with a lot of funny banter between Emily and Matteo. After these two accidentally end up on a blind date the find they had tons of chemistry (and funny moments) but it’s never that easy, is it lol. This was a quicker read then I anticipated but I enjoyed it
The dialogue was ridiculous and completely unrealistic. The behavior/personality shifts that both Emily and Matteo were doing was giving me whiplash. I am beginning to think that this author thinks having a guy say crude or vulgar things is how you make him sexy though the execution with Matteo just made him seem stupid and immature or like a douche bag. The story line was cheesy and bad. This is only the second book I've read by this author and I really liked the other one I read, maybe this is just a one off. I will try the next book in this series when it comes out and go from there.
Despite her reservations Emily agrees to go on a blind date that her best friend set up for her but when she arrives she only sees one viable candidate and a flirty banter ensues. She is very attracted to Liam and even though he is older than she anticipated they spend a steamy evening together but the morning after doesn’t go as planned when she realizes he is a stranger and not her date. They go their separate ways without exchanging contact info and don’t expect to see each other again.
Fate had other ideas when Emily attends her parent’s go away party as they are moving to Florida when who should also be there but the man she spend the previous night with. Questions arise when not only is his name Matteo and not Liam, he implores her to forget they ever met, it appears he may be living on the dark side of the law and he is more foe than friend when it comes to father.
The chemistry between them is hot, the surprises keep coming and the relationship that Emily had with her two best friends was fun to watch. I enjoyed the performance of the narrator and thought she did a great job with the suspense and heat of the storyline.
25 year old Emily hasn’t had a date in over a year and her friend sets her up on a blind date. When she gets the meeting place she can’t remember the guys name and ends up going to 40 year old Liam’s table (her presumed date) and proceeds to tell him why he is too old for her. After a hilarious conversation about older men they do hook up and she realizes she doesn’t even know his full name. She sees him again at her father’s house and it turns out his name is actually Matteo and he is messed up with the mafia and her father somehow, his story changes. Will Emily and Matteo end up together?
The story started out funny but then I got too confused. I’m still not certain if Matteo was at all good and hat happened to Emily’s father. I’m not a fan of mafia stories and this one seemed to turn into that.
If you like spicy romances with lots of twists and explosive chemistry, this books for you. Talk about a page-turner that will take you on an emotional roller coaster. More twists than a slinky. The passion and chemistry between Emily and Liam/Matteo will set your Kindle on fire. Thrown in mistaken identity, the mafia, stolen diamonds, the wrong blind date, parents with secrets, a billionaire or two and some loyal friends for some added drama. The book was well written with engaging characters and an exciting story line. I read this book as an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review. An ending with a twist that you won't see coming. If you read Billionaire's Fake Fiance you'll recognize some of the characters. The book was a fun read with plenty of sexy scenes.
I am gob smacked! I’m not sure what happened here. I can hardly believe this story was written by JS Cooper. This story, unfortunately, is in such poor shape, even though it’s an arc it can’t be overlooked. I, can only hope a first draft accidentally got put up in place of an edited draft. I really didn’t even want to finish. The story was so immature and silly I can’t really understand what happened here. The story needs serious editing. Not for just spelling, even though there certainly was a huge amount of those, the story had so many silly mistakes, wrong names, continuity issues. Thoroughly disappointing to say the least.

About Last Night is Book Two in this sexy series! Emily has not dated in over a year, her best friend set's up on a blind date. When she get's to the restaurant, she notices her date is gorgeous, rich and older! I enjoyed their banter and sexual chemistry, which eventually leads to them spending a very steamy one night together. They never exchange numbers, they do not expect to meet again. Emily invites her friends to her father's retirement dinner, where she surprisingly see's Liam!! Omg, I so enjoyed this book! It's filled with strong physical attraction, secrets, drama, and yes suspense. Such a fun storyline, it's a fast paced, and well detailed, great characters and surprises! I loved this book!
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
I thought this story had a great promising storyline but, overall, I think it could have been better executed. I had no real empathy for the heroine or her friends - I thought Emily came across often as immature - and, even though the hero was sexy, I couldn't quite peg him. Personally, considering who he was, I would have liked him to be broodier, mysterious and in control. I think the main characters needed more development. The solid bones of the story were there but the whole thing could have had a much smoother, less rushed and less clunky delivery. Sorry, this one was just not for me.
Older man younger woman. The story started off great. Emily is set up on a blind date and ends up spending the night with Matteo. It’s the next day before she realizes that he is not her intended date. They think it is just one night but their lives are now entangled in a dangerous game. Matteo must keep Emily, her family and her friends alive. Lies, secrets and danger are weaved throughout this short story. It was really too short to do proper justice to the story but ok for a quick read. I loved the friendship Emily had with her two best friends. I would finish up the series with Anabrl’s story. It sounds interesting.

HOLY! Talk about a case of mistaken identity ending up so RIGHT❣️Talk about surprises and twists! I was cracking up and able to relate to Emily and Liam. Another must read by author JS Cooper. I’m fortunate to have a paperback copy that I’ve added to my collection.
I couldn't get enough of this story and these characters!!! When two people meet that aren't supposed to meet and things go better than planned on the original blind date who can complain? Well there are some complaints when Emily who hasn't had a date in over a year finds out that Liam isn't who he says he is. She can't help but go to her two best friends and try to figure out what the heck went wrong and where. Who is Liam? Why wont he just tell her who he is?
Well that all comes to a screeching halt when her parents tell her they are suddenly moving to Miami. She knows her dad has never been the dependable type when it came to finances, but something isn't right. When she shows up to his retirement party with her best friend she is standing there trying to figure out what is going on when lo and behold Liam walks in the door. And he's not alone, He has two people with him and one of them is a stunning woman that Emily is suddenly wary of. She looks like she means business. It isn't until Liam pulls her into the bathroom that she gets a glimpse at who he is, and an even better time with him while they hide.
From here this story is nothing short of beyond sexy, and addictive to say the least. This is a definite book everyone should pick up!

This is the second book in the series and it’s Emily’s story. Emily is setup on a blind ate by Charlotte. When she gets to the restaurant she meets Liam AKA Matteo ( mafia boss). What ensues is one fantastic journey with plenty of twists and turns to keep the couple and the rest of the characters engaging. The storyline flowed smoothly and kept me entertained from beginning to the end.
I received a free copy for my honest and voluntary review.
Utter rubbish. DO NOT READ THIS! It would be a waste of your time
In a nutshell, girl goes on a blind date set up my her best friend and mistakes an older guy as her date. She promptly falls into bed with him before realizing it was a mixup; and one that he was obviously aware of (& made her none the wiser) at that. They put it down as a one night stand but then her dad invites her to a retirement party for him and her mom and announces that they will be moving to Florida. She goes to the party and surprise surprise, mister one night stand is there with a beautiful woman on his arm and so the book really begins. She finds out that her dad is in trouble with who she assumes is the mafia and that her one night stand is involved with them. The guy fucks her in the bathroom at her parents party, hands her and card and tells her to call him so he can explain. She calls and he decides the explanation has to be over dinner. She goes to dinner and he tells her he’s FBI; would you believe this girl never asked for proof? Not only does she not ask for proof but her mom calls saying her dad stole diamonds and though she initially decides not to tell him, she’s soon in the bathroom having him fuck the answers to his questions out of her. Keep in mind that he still hasn’t really answered hers. Guy tells her they have to go to Miami to her parents to get the diamonds and she says okay and goes. I mean this bitch is 25 years old and at one point the writer states that the heroine and her friends are college educated ladies. How could you possibly be that old, college educated but still be a dumb fuck? I mean come on! I hate when authors write stories that are just so freaking unrealistic, it makes no sense. I know it’s a story and I know it’s not real but we’re not talking about a story with aliens or something who are meant to have completely different cultures and shit. What person is gonna be told someone is FBI and not ask to see a badge or something? Particularly since you believe them to be Mafia. And who the fuck takes themselves up and jets off to Florida with said man? Kmft. From start to end she acted like a dumb fuck and the author’s writing almost makes it seem like all is well and this is completely normal behavior because even the male lead was 👎🏽. Dude, you’re in the fucking mafia; grow some motherfucking balls. He did not make a good impression on me at all. There was no substance to him, I could get a feel for the type of personality she was going for...there was just no consistency. It’s like she was writing about teenagers. I cannot accept that that is how the author believes an adult should or would act. What’s worse is I’ve barely even told you half way into the whole thing. I kept reading in hopes that it would get better but it gradually got worse. What makes me mad most of all is that I’m not a critical person at all! I’ll read books that have good moments every now and then, poor grammar/spelling and not bat an eye but I really freaking hate when books in their entirety are just not given the time or depth it requires to mold a story.
It was just very poorly written; there was too much lacking to make it good. The plot had so much potential but there were too many holes that needed filling. No character development, no clear storyline to follow, nothing to get you invested in the characters; it was just really bad.
I enjoyed Emily and Matteo's story. I jumped into this book and was hooked from the start. It all started with a blind date and boy did things get interesting. It was funny and hot and I wanted to know what would happened next. .. Emily was a bit naive and childish in the beginning, it annoyed me. Her character definitely had to grow on me and eventually it did. Matteo was blunt and oh so sexy with his words. I mean panty melting sexy. This was a good, quick and solid read, I wanted more... I can't wait for Anabel and Luca's story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
The beginning was good and the first sex scene was great and his commentary during it was hot. But the heroine’s dialogue from beginning to end was ditsy and annoying. And half of their conversations didn’t make sense. The last 3/4 of the book felt rushed and was definitely cheesy.
I've read so many of the authors other work but this was probably the worst. Rushed story line, using different characters names instead of the right one, so so so many spelling mistakes. Yea not worth it.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
Emily Finland, twenty-five, college graduate, hot mess, lover of all things cheese. Hasn't had a date in a year. Yeah, that's not something I would put in a dating profile. Ever. In fact, I can't be brothered to date. There are so many awful guys out there. I much prefer to Netflix and chill with a pizza. This is a story of mistaken blind dates but that is not known for a little bit and when Emily meets Liam the sparks fly. However he was never suppose to be her blind date. This too is Emily's first date in a year. This girl is just happy being at home with her cat and netflix and chilling. However because her best friend Charlotte has found love with Max and she want's everyone to find love so Emily decides to go. This is about to be a blind date that will change the course of her life forever. This book is full of twist and turns, deception, mystery, the mafia, some amazing chemisty and insta love that will have your kindle melting in your very hands at times. I really enjoyed this book and can not wait for the next on in this series.
This book was a mess, I was intrigued of this book because I like series that revolve around a group of friends. After reading The Billionaire's Fake Fiance (which was pretty good for a novella), I decided to pick this shit up.
The last 19% of this, I ended up skimming which was pretty fucking sad because that was when all the drama went down. I mean, this book was filled with so much unnecessary drama, plot twist and whatnot, it's not even funny. This was basically an Alexa Riley or Jessa Kane book that's trying a little too fucking hard.
Let me talk about Emily, our dumbass heroine (this is a very accurate endorsement btw). Who claims to not be into an older man but after a few touches she lets him take her to bone town, which is good for her. She and Liam— the hero, part ways without exchanging numbers because they'll never really see each other again, but voila they meet again. She finds out he's a bad guy, her friends (or more likely, friend— singular, Anabel. Charlotte was just coddling this bitch so hard, and I wasn't a fan) warned her to stay the fuck away because he's a waving red flag.
Using Anabel's term : dick whipped, Emily decide she can't stay away. He's a tall waving pole of red flag and she be itchin to climb him the fuck up. In conclusion, she's a baby monkey who was greedy to eat all the banana he was willing to give. And boy does she eat all of them. She falls inlove with him after going on two dates with him where he lies to her on both occasion, they fuck like five time and Emily realizes the meaning of TRUE LOVE! (So romantic. Not!)
Overall, this book was a mess, Emily was Tessa Young who's apparently blind of all warning signs. Also, there were small grammatical errors which might not be a problem for everyone but it made my OCD run and my eye twitch.
Also it uses dialogues like this: You’re my beautiful precious flower. Which is eek. It wasn't just this, there are some really cheesy lines on here and I just can't handle that much cheese in one go.
I'll still pick up Anabel's book because she a Queen, I hope it's not like this book.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.
Charlotte Emily’s friend fixed her up on a blind date that she didn’t want to go. Emily goes to the restaurant and sees a man sitting alone she waved to him and he waved back. Sitting at the table she kept telling him that she only dated younger guys and he seemed much older. After a couple of go rounds he decided to sleep with her if she was up to it. Emily had no idea that Liam was other blind date until the next morning after they slept together. Emily’s father told her he was retiring and moving to Florida. When Emily goes to her parents house and finds out that her father owes money to the mafia from some bad bets he made. The party was in full swing when Emily noticed two guys standing by her father. Standing by her dad she started to ask questions when one of the guys said the boss was there. Emily turned around to see Liam walk in with a beautiful women when he saw her he was surprised. Liam (Matteo) told Emily to forget what happened the night they slept together and she was not to know him. He gave her his card and told her call him and she wanted to kill him right there. Emily and Charlotte walk over to Matteo and started to speak with the women he was with who didn’t appreciate Emily approaching her. Matteo asked where the bathroom was and dragged Emily into the bathroom. They had a fast interlude and then he left and told her to call him that night. Matteo goes and tells Emily he was an FBI agent but when Lucia walked in on the two of them and proceeded to upset Emily. Alarm bells were going off in Emily’s head and she kept asking him question. About who he really was and why was he talking to Luca or Special Agent in the FBI when it dawned on her that it was Luca. Her family had fled with the diamonds they were after and Emily had no idea where they went. Twists, turns, deceit and lies make this a good book.
