Damnation MC #2

Providence

Rate this book
If Serendipity ever got the chance, she might actually thank Uriel for locking her away in Purgatory.

She’d probably tear off his balls and force feed them to him first, but still, she was woman enough to admit that if it wasn’t for him, she might have never known this kind of happiness. She had four (and a half) men who adored her, a child who should never have been but was perfect despite his genetics, and something she’d never thought she would ever possess.
A family.

But still, danger lurks in the shadows, biding its time waiting to strike. There was also the small problem of Cain’s favor to the Devil himself.

But until those problems came knocking at her door, she'd enjoy her time seducing. the Four Horseman and a sultry killer.

If only Serendipity knew that those problems were already on her doorstep, waiting to pounce.

When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre.

Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer.

Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?

Loved this book. The development of Serendipity's relationship with the guys was just perfection. I liked how they all progressed at their own time. I definitely enjoyed the multiple POVs.Goliath's growth in this book was so amazing to see. Witnessing his vulnerability through the way he was with Judas and Dippy
The ending was great, I wished the epilogue was longer though.

Book 2 kicks off right where the 1st one left off with Serendipity (FMC) giving birth. Traumatic to say the least. Leaving her out of action and her four gruff horsemen - Judas, Cain, Solomon & Goliath left holding the baby. Quite literally!! Comedic value throughout comes in the form of Marco's two bundles of sweetness- Stevie & Cara. Those two were a breath of fresh air and hell of a lot of laughs too. Especially the parts with Goliath, Lucifer, Raphael and the kids. Omg i was dying laughing at the part with Goliath and the kids giving him tips on dating. Just brilliant. Action-packed, dark in parts and off of the charts with plenty of steamy, sexy times. The five-some with Sera and the horsemen was particularly hot!! All the loose ends were tied up perfectly. Im a bit chuffed that Trigger might be popping up again (loved him) as well as Raphael. Ill be keeping an eye out for those books. As this series was utterly amazing. I couldnt praise it up enough. So Good!!

So good

Holy amazeballs, what a wild right. This was definitely a fab favourite for me. It had a bit of everything Angels, The Devil, 4 F...able scary and sweet horsemen, shifters, a badass FMC, an assassin who signs, MM and even a baby Angel thrown in.

Loved the characters as each personality pulls you right in and left you wanting so much more, that I jealous over serendipity 5 guys. The books were well written and easy to read with great detail. I so do love my MC novels with a lot of blood, death, Alpha males who know the ways to treat a woman or even a huge ass broken man and even men that get wrapped around a childs small fingers, showing a deadly softer side. A really great 2 book series and maybe even more .....

DNF 21%. Picture this, you've been in a coma for two days due to nearly dying giving birth. You finally wake up from your coma to a room full of people (your five boyfriends, two adoptive children and a few other people). You meet and see your magical angel baby for the first time and are soooooooooooo in love with him. Everyone kisses you goodbye and leaves you with 2-3 of your boyfriends. They take the sleeping baby from you to put him in his crib because you're getting hot and heavy kissing one of the boyfriends whose been worried sick about you. You and said boyfriend go into the bathroom and have shower sex. You come out to find food and a note from other boyfriends that they'll watch the baby for the night so that you and shower sex boyfriend can continue to fuck. ALL OF THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE SPAN OF 30 FUCKING MINUTES. BITCH YOU JUST WOKE UP OUT OF A COMMA 30 MINUTES AGO, HELD YOUR BABY FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN PROCEEDED TO GET DICKED DOWN IN THE SHOWER AND HAVE SOMEBODY ELSE WATCH THE BABY SO YOU CAN CONTINUE TO GET DICKED DOWN. You would think bonding with your fucking child would take precedence over dick but apparently not, Mother of the Year right there. You almost died, your baby has been on this earth TWO days without you being conscious. You don't want to know how he's been? What happened during those two days? Has anybody tried to attack or kidnap the angel baby? Is the angel baby safe right now and how will you keep it safe considering certain angels want you and said baby dead?

She did not give a fuck about any of that. Priorities shot to hell and considering that she has four other dicks to entertain and for her dick takes precedence over baby I know I'll just continue to be frustrated with her being a shit mother. Like you really woke up from a coma, met/held your baby for five minutes and then proceeded to fuck for the rest of the day and night. In what world is this okay. Then the author tried to make it better by saying how much she loved the baby the five minutes she was holding him. Baby you can say how much you love the baby all you want but your actions say otherwise.

good ending

I enjoyed this story and loved the characters, but I did have a few issues. Sera is thousands of tears old (not a spoiler if You’ve read book 1) so why doesn’t she know more? Languages? ASL? I mean, she’d pick it up just by exposure over the years if nothing else. Yet she is far too often simply a woman in her 20’s, with the same mindset. That bothered me. I didn’t expect astounding knowledge, but a bit more would have rounded her character out. Heck, even knowing how to fight works be good.

Exciting Read

Wow, what a exciting read! So much action, and sex and revenge, but most definitely a lot of love! I loved the family dynamics the were brought together by circumstance. Thank you Grace, again for a great read. I wish I had more of in sight about the baby and who he really is, but I'm sure I'll get my answers down the road. Wink, wink ;)

Loved these books. Loved the humor. Loved how the romance and family progressed. Loved that it wasn’t INSTA love between any RH. Also loved that it was SATISFYING when the battle happened.
Will reread again.

That was NOT how I expected to feel about this 2-book spinoff from The Redeemable series. And it's not that it wasn't full of action and steam, it's just that most of it didn't hit right and there was too much inner dialogue from all the characters. In many instances, we get multiple POVs of the same series of events, and I'm sorry but that drove me nuts. Just give me the most intriguing person's POV for that part of the story and move on.

General gist with spoilers:

--Rating - 2 stars - dissappointed
--Steam - 3 stars - it's there, but it's awkwardly written in my opinion. I've read a lot of well-written intimate scenes and even the simplest of kisses can make your heart patter when written correctly. But that's not the case here.
--Storyline - 3 stars - was happy to get Sera and Cain's complete story, but it was just meh for me. I would've rather had more of Estrella's story. Her story was too short and so well written.
--Plot Twists - 2 stars - you kind of know what's coming
--Emotional Pull - 2 stars - meh
--Writing - 2 stars - sub par for a Grace McGinty book. Not sure what changed between The Redeemable (1-4) and The Unrepentant (1-3), but The Fallen and Damnation just weren't the same. I ended up skipping A lOT in this book.
--Denouement - 2 stars - super unfulfilling
--Cliffhanger? - No
--HEA? - yes

The book starts right where the story was left off in Serendipity. Serendipity (FMC) was giving birth and both her and the baby were in danger. With the help of some angelic beings and non, we see the 4 Horsemen and Marco doing everything in their powers to protect Sera and the baby. But things are not easy, especially when the Cartel targets the Damnation Club. Sera and her guys will also discover new paranormal beings and will have to give up part of who they are to live a long and happy life. We also find out who Sera's father is.

I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Can the author do no wrong? Seriously? This book is freaking amazing and although it wraps up Serendipity’s story it drops little hints and clues to future stories. The story was completely satisfying and I couldn’t be happier with the way it ended except that it ended. booo! It was hot and exciting and left you feeling warm and fuzzy. If you haven’t read it what the heck are you waiting for? Highly recommended

Bit boring sadly. This just seemed to lack depth for me. And once the baby was born you hardly heard anything else about it. It read like the baby was constantly being handed.iff so she could go have sex and that was basically the rest of the story.

3.5 stars rounded up.

This was a good read! I enjoyed this second half more than the first I think. The characters remained interesting and the action really picked up in this one.

I loved seeing them become a family, and most of them accepted Sera easily. I mentioned in my review of the first book that it was hard for me to move on from their love for Laura since she was mentioned a few times, and for the most part they accepted Sera as the new love of their (new) lives. I didn’t feel like Goliath really ever fully got there, though. He still felt so guilty all the time. Even Judas loosened up more, and I liked learning about their romantic relationship.

The baby, Madoc, Sammie and Cara were great. I loved the addition of them. The action at the climax was intense, and I enjoyed seeing past characters.

I still don’t understand why they got turned into Luc’s Horsemen, like if there was a greater plot into this?

I would’ve liked to learn a bit more about Sera’s history throughout time, if she had ever loved anyone and they passed, even though she moved around a lot.

I need to go back and read Hope’s story and see if there is any more to the backstory with Tenebrae that I’m missing, as well as Hunting Isla to see about where they go at the end.

I would love to read more about Damnation MC, and see Trigger’s story as well as Bear and Goose. They really intrigued me! And Raphael needs a story!! Why is he always so sad?!

We see more of Sammie and mentions of the guys in Rebels and Runaways, but I’d love to see more of Sera and the guys from her POV. Especially since I didn’t feel like she connected as much as she could’ve with Marco, and did he become immortal?

I really enjoy this author’s books! I love that they all interconnect in some way, this is a great creation!

Providence is the second, book in the Damnation MC duet. Some of our questions are answered and some are left unknown. There are a few parts of the book that are just slices of life, which is much needed in a book full of chaos and destruction. With that being said, the battle against Tenebre kicks off and we finally get to see the Four Horsemen in their element.

One part of the book that confused me was the relationship between Hope and Sera. Are they immediate family? Is Hope an aunt to Sera? I was very confused whenever they were brought up, because McGinty never outright says what their relationship is, and it would have made the story make more sense if I just knew their relation to one another. At one point Hope says she wants to meet her grandson, but would that not make her Sera’s mom? At the same time, Sera says that she’s never seen a picture of her mom because “no one was around to capture her image”, so that would make it impossible for Hope to be her mother. Overall that part of the plot was pretty confusing to me.

Another question left unanswered is Madoc and his power! However, I know that McGinty will likely reveal this in a later book, so for now I’m left eagerly wanting more.

As far as relationships go, the five men are enamored with Sera, and she’s equally as in love with them. This book challenges them in new ways, and forces them to face their past fears head-on, but in the end you can feel them come out of these trials stronger.

Unlike some of McGintys other works, Damnation MC isn’t one I’m dying to have on my bookshelf. However, if you have Kindle Unlimited and enjoy the McGinty universe than I would recommend giving this a shot! There are so many ways that McGinty can take the story from here that I’m excited to see what comes next.

Wow!!! Fantastic wrap-up for Serendipity’s story. This book is a continuation from book1 Serendipity which is a spin-off of Hells Redemption, that you will definitely want to read before this series.
I am insanely in love with Grace McGinty! Her stories have the right amount of sweet & steamy. All the books in this series are RH/ ménage, some do include a bit of MM sword crossing (my favorite but FYI). The guys are usually pretty damaged and I think the worst of the series is in this book, Goliath, who seems to find a bit of peace & happiness by the end.
My complaint is ridiculous in that I REALLY WANT MORE! I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet, AT ALL!! McGinty does well in wrapping up her stories with a definite HEA but I always feel like I want at least one more scene of everyone together and FINALLY happy. After all the drama happens at the very end of the book, it wraps up so we know that they all get to move on together but I can’t help but wish there was one more mushy lovey-dovey steamy happily ever after chapter/ scene. I think it’s mostly because I can’t say goodbye yet….❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Also there is mention of more spin-off stories & an open storyline regarding an archangel that I REALLY REALLY HOPE evolve into a story soon! PLEASE Grace McGinty!!! I need more!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I enjoyed this book more than the first.

The plot progresses a bit here, there’s actual relationships, and things sort of happen.

However, like with the first feeling like it began by dropping you in the deep end; the ending of this series felt so abrupt that I was checking to see that there wasn’t another book hiding somewhere.

I sort of feel like…what was the point of these two books?

We have a beginning and possibly a start of middle-ish of the story. But that’s it. It feels totally unfinished to me.

There is so much that was left unanswered and open ended.
Again, making me think, what was the point?

They just get into their reverse harem relationship. Then the book ends.
We don’t get any sense of time, or what happens to them. Or the kids, or…anything. It was weird, for me personally.

What happened to Raphael?
Who is London? What’s his story?
Does Killer EVER have an orgy with the group???? How can you leave the story without giving him a scene with ONE of the other guys!? Come on…
Does Sammie ever loosen up and find happiness?
What happens to Madoc???
What is Hope? What’s her story?
What happens to Uriel???????????
Does Killer ever become Immortal?!?!?
Do the kids become immortal? Lucifer hinted at it?!

So. Many. Unanswered. Questions.

I wasn’t impressed.

3.5 stars--this review is for the duet because I read them quickly, back to back.

I didn't like this series as much as others from this author, but it was still an interesting premise. It definitely isn't a standalone if you don't want to be confused; it's a good idea to read at least the last of the Hell's Redemption books so you get the introduction to Serendipity. I think it was a mistake not to write that into this story since it's so important to the storyline of this book.

I always like reading stories with characters from hell, fallen angels, horsemen, etc so I'm glad to have gotten another series to try out. I liked Sera, even though she was somewhat of an enigma of a character. She has lived so long, but is nothing like what most immortals are portrayed as in terms of wealth, being bored, etc. I had a hard time connecting with her honestly; I felt like her personality was never quite pinned down. I liked the addition of the baby simply because I don't read a lot of romance novels with pregnancy. Marco's kids stole the show once they arrived, especially Cara.

Overall, I really like this author so I'm glad I gave it a shot, but it's not my favorite of her works.

Wait. What? It's over?! NO! I feel like I need so much more of Sera and her guys. I fell in love with these characters even more in this second book. They opened up more and it was amazing to see the change once everyone was on board with being with Sera. Everything just clicked. They fought harder and loved harder. It made every single scene that much better.
The parts that included the kids were so adorable and probably some of my favorite scenes. I always feel that when authors write children into the book that they often get forgotten about or lost in the story, but Cara and Sammie (and Madoc!) were like the cherry on top. There were so many heartwarming and hilarious moments with them. Goliath getting dating advice from them was the best!
On a final note, I love how Grace can create these amazing characters, even side characters that have so much potential for more. We end up loving them just as much as the main characters. I hope to see more with Trigger and Raphael in future books. Maybe even a book when Madoc is grown!

This book could have been 4/5 star fantastic, instead I reduced it to 3 stars, why? because as much as I love a hot sex scene as anyone else, I dont love them when there's too many and they get in the way of the story.

Infact it was annoying as fuck. You'd finish a sex scene, read a couple of pages of story n then it was another sex scene! Seriously I got real tired of that very early on and it was like it throughout the whole book, I bet 50% of this book is sex scenes.

Its like the author used them as filler. In the end I just skimmed as they became formulaic and boring and hence 3 stars.

The actual story was great, as we're the characters.

This is the 2nd series I've read of this author and she did the same in that series too. Someone please tell her less is more ffs. Its enough to put me off reading anymore.

Proof positive a good editor or honest non sichophantic beta readers are worth their weight in gold.

Great ending

This book picks up after serendipity has gave birth. Now her and the guys must deal with having a new baby and the family that they have gained. There are many enemies who are converging on damnation MC and they will do anything to protect their family.

I loved that this book began with the POV of the guys. The different POVs just make me love all the characters so much more. We got to really see the guys unleash their powers in this book and I loved it.

Im sorry to see this families story end because I enjoyed them so much. But I think they have earned their peace. I'm excited to see who's story will we see next. Maybe a fast forward of the kids because who wouldn't love to see a older version of Cara, madoc and Sammie.

Perfect Ending **NO SPOILERS**

Such a stunning conclusion to the duet. The book opens with everyone coming to terms not just with an angelic baby in the mix but more importantly the close call of almost losing both ‘Dippy’ and baby Madoc.

Serendipity has the chance of making a new life with with the guys, Marco and their new found family.

Trouble is always lurking, the new cartel is still encroaching on their territory and Tenebrae is a big threat that can’t be ignored.

On a lighter note and with an effort to avoid spoilers, here’s one of my favourite quotes from the book:
“…he takes the whole gift giving thing really seriously.”
When you read it you’ll understand.

The books by this author are seriously adding!

Give Us More…especially Cara, Sammie and Marco

I really enjoyed the storylines and learning about the angels… But, I fell in love with Cara and Sammie… Cara was hysterical…The interaction between Cara and “Goliath” melted my heart and softened Goliath’s reawakening to love with the entire family. A third story could include Cara’s chasing Trigger and possibly their eventual relationship, bringing the Horsemen back to the Damnation MC.

One thing I seem to miss is the Hope story. I know she is one of the twins from the Redemption series and there was mention that her twin died. But is there a series that ties Hope to the fallen angels then tomSerendipity? Anyway, between the two series, I loved your characters and storylines.

Fun wrap up

I feel like this book really shouldn't be read without reading her other series that prelude this... its so world building and the love you develop for each of the characters. I can't say for sure since I read the different series in order leading up to this, but I think I would have been lost or maybe just not enjoyed it quite as much if I hadn't already met some of the other characters and knew the backstories. With all that being said though, I absolutely have loved this journey. I don't run across a ton of authors that I have enjoyed everything they have written, but Grace McGinty does not disappoint!

Soo much dirty

This book was really great and so so so dirty...like I had to keep looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was peeping kind of dirty.

Sera or Dippy is such a strong FMC, who takes every moment like it could be her last (even though she is immortal).

I loved how Goliath opens up more in this book and I just want to jump his bones, constantly, especially when he is vulnerable.

I could go on about all the others characters but I'm honestly worn out lol. I haven't liked all the guys in a harem for quite some time so this was epic.

Definitely recommend.

3.5 rounded up.

I'll admit, this is one is good, but it didn't hold my attention like Book 1. I tend to read things in one sitting, but I took several break during this. I was honestly bored during a lot of the middle. It's a lot of sexy times and love declarations, but it all felt very anticlimactic (no pun intended).

Towards the end, when all Hell (heh, pun intended), breaks loose, was very entertaining. I liked that all our fallen friend made appearances, and we get to see the Horsemen's true power.

Pretty gorey, but not that dark overall.

Nice

This was a spicy read and deepened the story in this world, and though Serendipity's story is finished, there's a lot of unanswered questions and loose ends...but there are more books in this world with other characters we've met in other books, so I'm hoping to get to the bottom of all of this. I'm excited to see what happens in the future with some of these characters.

This book is yet another piece of the puzzle that is Grace McGinty's wacky and wonderful world. Loved this book. Love the whole story.

Ms McGinty is not the best of writers. There are logical and sequencing issues with the plots, she (mis)uses words she doesn't understand, and there is a bit of an issue with grammar and such. But. Especially in the Damnation MC series, I absolutely fell in love with the possibilities of the premise. The fallen are bad but not evil. The angels may well be evil if they contain their evil within the doctrine that defines their god. And they do; they are. Even if they're not outright evil, they follow blindly because it's comfortable.
