Maggie Lee will do anything to protect her family…including participating in an exorcism.
When her niece is threatened by an evil spirit, Maggie and her menagerie (with the help of friends Armani and RV) must find a missing skull and rob a graveyard. As if that isn't enough, they must also go on a quest to collect a list of magical ingredients (including pumpkin spice coffee, because everyone knows that’s some magical stuff right there).
God is being snarkier than usual, as Maggie also contends with the demands of a mob boss, the fallout of a killing, and an offer of a job that could be her most dangerous yet.
Will she figure out a way to exorcise the evil spirit to save her beloved niece Katie or will the cursed cloud Maggie’s always lived under finally get the best of her?
I can't recommend this series enough. I just reread the entire thing and was just as pleased as the first time. The animals warm my heart and the mystery is superb. JB Lynn is a talented writer with an awesome imagination.
Another fantastic installment in Maggie’s crazy life! She’s battling an evil spirit to save Katie. And you know Maggie will do anything for her family. Anything! Filled with action, extra sarcastic comments from God, and maybe just a hint of romance. 5+++ stars!
I have read all the books and enjoy this series very much. Quirky characters, the mob, talking animals - lots of excitement! Maggie, the main character, has a lot of juggling to do keep all the different aspects of her life separate! This book was good and involved a bit of "witchery" in order for Maggie to protect her beloved niece, something she has devoted her life to since Katie's parents were killed in an auto accident. Maggie has a reasonably crazy family of eccentrics that keep things interesting as well as a couple of hunky men interested in keeping her safe from competing mobsters, the law, and each other. Definitely recommend this series!
Another great read. Maggie does get herself in trouble. She needs to get an evil spirit out of her grandfather’s dat, Zippy. Of course to do this she must find a witch who can perform an exorcism. RV is involved because she knows the witch and is helping Maggie collect the necessary items. Of course, the evil spirit is Maggie’s grandmother. Yes, not only do they talk to animals but they have a witch in their family. This book is not as funny as some earlier ones but it has all the same zany characters. I always wonder what goes on in the author’s mind when she is sitting at her computer writing these stories. She has created a series that can go on forever and I hope it does. So, sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy Maggie’s adventures.
I love Maggie and her undying family loyalty. Her humor, her animal menagerie, her "odd" jobs, and her ability to get any job done, add up to a great story that is always over too soon. I was delighted to see the mysterious RV join the action, even if the possession and exorcism was a little far from the usual plots. (For those of you who haven't met RV, check out the Cursed Chicks Club at https://cursedchicks.com/) All of the Hitwoman series are exciting and well written books. This is a series that is fun from book one, and happily, still leaves this reader ready and anxious to read the next book!
This is a fun and engaging edition to the Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman series. In this story, Maggie has to perform and exorcism to save her niece, and, as most things in Maggie's world, things get a bit crazy.
If you enjoy a fun story with a bit of mystery and humor, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel - however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.
Maggie never seems to have a normal day. Thanks to her family she's gotta be ready for anything. Now she's got to find a skull and find someone to perform a exorcism on a dog. What? Author JB Lynn never disappoints. If you haven't tried this series it's definitely worth getting into. Twenty three books and I never know where the story is going to lead. Always full of surprises and I'm kept guessing. Quick, fast read and engaging story every time.
J.B. As always delivers another fantastic installation to her Hit Woman series. The books are a engrossing read that compels you to read the story all in one fell swoop. I have read the entire series from the beginning and I always wait for the next installment to the story of some of my most favorite characters. Well done J.B. Well done. Now more!
Maggie's back in the laest book of Ms. Lynn's popular series, but in this one, she has to rid her grandfather's dog of the spirit of her err evil grandmother. To do that, she needs a witch Can she do it? Can she get a witch? Can the witch get the evil spirit back into the skull? Read it, and find out. You'll be glad you did!
Because of the supernatural aspects, I didn't enjoy it as thoroughly
I cannot remember giving Ms. Lynn anything under 4 stars,. Unfortunately this wasn't my thing. I love her characters and dialogue, I love her quirky sense of humor, but I did not feel the connection to the new scenes and new characters.
I love this series so much for the assassin/detective juxtaposition. The pace was fast and I loved that Gino is making his move to ask Maggie out. I’m hopeful the witchy aspects would be perhaps a different side series rather than a new focus for this series as I love it so much just the way it is.
This was a lot of mystery and unknown. Maggie had to handle a curse that she had no idea how to handle and what to do. I like how RV is involved because I always thought there was more to her. There are some things I am sure I missed in the story with the characters and I can’t wait to see that in future stories.
Another hit! Maggie must save Katie from a evil spirit. With the the help of God and all her other animal companions she battles to save her family with all of her heart and a little hijinks along the way.
Love the plot twists, the characters, and cannot wait until the next book in the series is ready for distribution!!! Go Maggie, and jb Lynn!!! Looking forward to the cursed chick series as well!!!
I love this series. Great fun characters. Engaging story that is different from the norm. I could not put it down. Can’t wait to see what Maggie gets up to next.
This was delightfully entertaining. As usual, I love all the animals. The human characters are wonderful too. I'm curious about how "breaking bread with Gino will go. Gorilla poo as an ingredient made me laugh. Looking forward to more fun romps with the gang.
Entertaining storyline about Maggie, a. Sometimes hit women who not only works for the mob, but also a Ms. White. Maggie life is weird, talks to animals, they talk back, has a crazy family life. Highly entertaining!
Fast-paced and entertaining. Maggie's grandmother is someone you would NOT want to bump into in a alley. The characters hit their mark and the story lines are well told. Waiting on the next adventure!
This was a fun Hitwoman book. Of course it left me with more questions than answers! We have a new regular character with a mysterious past, but thankfully another set of characters may have been retired. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
I love the characters in these books, especially the animals. During these challenging times, these are the perfect escape. I’ve read all 23 and hope for more!
With all those animals, who cleans up the poo? Katie is in trouble and Maggie is up poo creek trying to figure out a way to save her. Another person is back from the dead, sort of, and only temporary. Hence the exorcism.
What a creative and imaginative mystery series with intrigue, suspense, love and pure fun. I would call it good clean fun but everyone gets a bit dirty and Dirt Angles are just one unique pivot of the day. ENJOY!
I really enjoyed this latest edition of Maggie & her motley crew of humans & animals! I was intrigued by the usage of the mystical element in this one, too.
I never saw it coming that the supernatural aspect of things would be expanded but I must say that I’m liking it. I wonder will there be more about Maggie’s grandma?
