I think I am finding that I'm just not a big fan of Drake's longer poems. I'll get to page 2 of the same poem and I think about how that would be a good ending to the poem and instead it goes on for 2-4 more pages. Yes, the poems overall are fine, but most of them go on for so long I get bored reading them. The poems themselves were a lot more up lifting and positive than just thinking about his ex and his experience with them. I'm hoping the next one just makes my whole opinion on this series of books. I was expecting a lot more than what I'm getting and its pretty underwhelming right now. Frankly, that's all I have to say.

❝It was real for me. I don’t know what it was for you. But for me. It was real.❞

I like the book, it has really good poems but it wasn’t the best from the collection sᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴɢ ʙʀᴏᴋᴇɴ sᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴʜ ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪɢᴜʟ. For me it was okay. It has a bit of everything; love, friendship, family and heartbreak. I would recommend it if you need something easy to read, this is perfect for that, but not for an actual reading.

❝Things get better. Easier. With time. But what if, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑡. What if, it just doesn’t, then what. I can’t be okay with not being okay.❞

It was hard for me to decide how to rate this book. The thoughts in the book were good, I enjoyed the idea behind quite a few of them, but the formatting of the poems really made this one hard for me to enjoy. My brain. Read. This book like. This. The entire. Time. And it really, really made what would probably have been a solid 4 stars diminish to 1.5. This is probably a me problem and not the authors problem.

robert m. drake wrote everything I’ve needed / wanted to say. I’ve been going through a tough separation at the moment - w/ people in my life & even from things from my past self. this book beautifully strung every ounce of emotion that has stirred in me the past 3 months. I highly recommend this to the ones who are hurting or are experiencing recent healing. we’re all going through it together, & I must say that poems like these make us feel less alone.

I really enjoyed this book. there were many poems that were close to me due to having heartbreaks and having the love of my life walk into my life. if anyone is looking for books to read they should definitely look for the box set.
