We start with a guided tour of the solar system, examining the planets, dwarf planets and moons for signs of life, and/or the possibility of humans being able to live there. It soon becomes clear the only viable choice is Mars.

Next, some history on what humans have done so far to explore space, from ancient observations of the sky, to humans walking on our moon.

Now we start to zero in on Mars, and all the many, many robots we have sent there to, literally, dig up the dirt on mars for us. So many failures! But the successes have been outstanding: Viking, Spirit, Opportunity, and (my favorite) Curiosity!

After much examination of how robots get to mars now, this leads to speculation on how to get humans to mars, and, hopefully, back. And then, after the first wave of exploration, what a colony on Mars would look.

A fascinating and wonderfully in depth on the past, present, and future of Mars!
