Naina didn't believe in love or marriage. And then, she met a handsome, charming stranger who drew out her passion and stole her heart. She almost fell in love, when shocking truth got revealed.
Naina's power-hungry politician father had promised her in marriage to Shiv Jaipal, a ruthless, powerful man also known as the devil. Forced into a hasty marriage, Naina is taken away and held as the devil's captive.
She hated and feared the devil, but why did she also feel angry and betrayed by him?
And when he vowed to possess her body, heart and soul, why did she fear he might succeed?
Will she fight the devil? Or will she give in to his dark desires... even though she knows she is going to escape him no matter what?
The Devil's Desire is a standalone passionate romance.
Review Most of Kasi’s books I have read are Indianized, light wonderful read. I was expecting the same from this, but somehow, I didn’t like this book. The uniqueness which I saw in her other books were totally missing in this.
As blurb says: Naina’s political father had promised her to Shiv Jaipal to strengthen his power. Prologue starts with their marriage and first chapter goes back in time to know more about their background and brief interactions. I appreciate the authors effort to give backstory for all the couples in the series, however in this case, their back story prolonged for almost 45% of the book. In that, main protagonist meets each other three times and heroine doesn’t even remember one encounter.
We have met Naina and Shiv briefly in previous book. Shiv is charming and we can see both sweet and rebellious side of Naina. Shiv unleashes all his charm on her and tries to woo her and Naina is an almost willing victim to that. However, this book lagged in several aspect.
What I didn’t like: I personally felt that the first half of the book was dragged more than necessary. Secondly, book didn’t focus on relationship building. In her several other books – we see the subtle characteristics which attracted the protagonist to each other and highlighted their personality, was entirely missing in this. This book was focused on their physical attraction and nothing else. The instance where heroine doesn’t remember their encounter is never discussed again in any part of the book. Some of her previous books had a desi touch in description of place, cloths and food which is missing in this. Parties and get togethers were highlighted in a “Firangi” way. Once they had the physical intimacy, it felt like story was just fast forwarded.
I saw these smaller changes in first Devil’s book as well, it just escalated in this. This book screamed non-Indian culture. The timelines and hints from book 1 didn’t match at all.
Plot moved in slightly slower pace in first half and it got fast forwarded in last part. We could still see Vijay as a loyal friend once in a while. No other intriguing secondary characters. Writing style was good but it lagged a lot in gripping narration this time.
Over all, this book felt like several other foreign romance novels. To me, it was desi book with a firangi story. It may not be same for you. Read and decide yourself and let me know your thoughts.
The book was a bit similar to the first one in the devil series. A similar ending too.
However the explosive chemistry and the background story was different which will keep you hooked to the book. I can say this one is super hot and may leave you with goosebumps.
It belongs in the good books and one time read shelves but my all time favourite Souless and Ruthless will remain untouched.
Iam waiting for a book from the author to beat the Revenge series books.
**I officially announce SHIV as my book boyfriend**
This was the third time I read it and by far Shiv is the only male protagonist written by an Indian author that is favourite. The best part I don't even know why he is I just can't pinpoint why he is my favourite considering I've read all three books .
The Devil’s Desire by M.V. Kasi is a passionate, sensual and suspenseful romance set in India. Featuring a yet another deliciously wicked anti-hero just like in her previous book, The Devil’s Kiss, MV Kasi again manages to thrill, engage and keep the readers on their toes in her latest book. This book is the second book in “The Devils” series.
If you have read “The Devil’s Kiss” by MV Kasi then you will connect the characters and the events happening in that book with this one. However, if you are reading this book without knowledge of the aforementioned book’s story then this story will come as a separate and fresh read for you. Either way is fine because the understanding and enjoyment of this book aren’t affected.
The base story remains the same. Three friends are called “The Devils” because of their good looks, wicked lifestyle and their ruthless presence in the criminal world.
The writing is as usual vivid, realistic and so engaging that the story easily creates mental pictures and plays out like a movie. The protagonists are complex and the character development easily makes these people look real with problems readers will connect with.
I enjoyed the book very much and finished it in one sitting. Meeting the characters from the previous book was an added bonus.
In conclusion, The Devil’s Desire by M.V. Kasi is yet another “Beauty and the Beast” inspired romantic suspense that entertains, excites and leaves the reader feeling happy. 4 out of 5 stars to it and Njkinny recommends this engrossing romance to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. I am taking away one star because of the above points that I felt needed to be addressed in this book. However, I am now eagerly awaiting the third Devil book, The Devil’s Love.
MV Kasi’s books are spicy, entertaining, suspenseful and memorable. I am stil to find a book that isn’t lovely from her. Go read her romances now!
Well I am fan of MV Kasi and was waiting eagerly for this after reading Devil's Kiss. But this one was let down. Her writing style is impeccable but there were many questions unanswered and loopholes in plot. First in epilogue of previous Book it is hinted that Sunanina had ran away and Shiv was tracing her. By timing this should be around the timeline of events occured in this book. But surprisingly it didn't occur. It was not even hinted that she might have tried to run away in past. Also the timeline is not proper. In last Book, in epilogue, during Anirudh-Aditi's second wedding Shiv is implied as engaged, but in current Book, when Anirudh congratulates Shiv on getting married, he says that he is about to get married again. Secondly in previous Book, it was clear why and how Anirudh belonged to criminal world and intend to destroy it Coz of his father's dream . Shiv's reasons are not clear in this one, that if he wanted to take revenge with one man who destroyed His family, what motivated him to bring entire criminal world down with it. Why was he a good Devil. I just hope that the author and her team do better job with consistency in third book as I genuinely love her work.

BOOK REVIEW Title: THE DEVIL’S DESIRE Author: MV Kasi Genre: Romantic Thriller/New Adult
My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 .. “He might be the devil but giving in to his desires always took her to the heaven” .. QOTD: Which book tops your list from enemies-to-lovers trope?
Mine includes many but I would choose THE TAKEOVER for now 😂 .. .. This is the first book I read from the author and it was sooo enthralling!!! The suspense, the thrill, and the captivating spell cast by the MCs - Naina & Shiv, is absolutely surreal 🖤 The twists and turns in the plot had me hooked at the very instant!! You’ll love the book if you’re into: TROPES: -billionaire/mafia romance -suspenseful and scorching romance set in India -forced marriage -wicked, handsome, ruthless, possessive, and beastly anti-hero -fierce, headstrong beauty -grumpy/sunshine -dreadful pasts -third-person POV -swoony -spicy/erotica with FULL of unavoidable sparks!!!
If you love books that have a wonderful backstory with the above-mentioned tropes, then go for this book! Please Note, This book comes second in THE DEVIL series but could be read as a standalone. Available only in kindle.
Loved this book. It was as amazing as the devils kiss. Shiv is our handsome devil number 2 with a to die for body and a sad past. Looking for revenge from his sister’s kidnapper , which lead to her death, he is on the hunt for the russian man victor. Naina our young heroine is the daughter of the home minister who is willing to get her married to anyone for his political career gain weather be it a rapist or a pervert. Shiv would do anything to keep naina safe. Even if it meant killing her suitors or torturing himself by staying away from her. The story has enough suspense to keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. I never expected the ending the way it is written . I thought that it will take something bad happening to shiv for naina to realize that she loved him. It was totally opposite. The only thing I was disappointed about was shivs new name. Didn’t like it. Lol.
Read after Devil’s Kiss, knowing it would follow a similar formula and having enjoyed the first one. There were moments of overlap with plot points from the first book to see the story from this lead Devil’s POV, but instead of feeling cohesive and fun, it just felt repetitive after so many of these moments. While I was rooting for the leads in the last one, these two fell flat and spent much less time together. I would have loved to see them as they developed their relationship rather than just hearing that this had happened. Will not re-read, but will give the third and final a chance.
I have read all the books by MV Kasi n loved all of them. These with their wonderful story just mesmerises the reader from very first page till the very end. Loved Shiv n Naina's story n waiting for the last devil/hero Vijay's story now.. hopefully the author will give us readers a wonderful story of the remaining hero that will keep us readers hooked ..
I devoured this. I don't usually find myself seeking out Indian romances but hey this one caught my fancy and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Oh boy, did I.
However, it does need some serious polishing and it will be a gem. I see people complaining it is similar to her other works, uh who cares? I came across legit heaven because this woman is writing my favorite trope! HELL YES!
It is an ok read. To begin with it started on an interesting story line but during the course the writer forgot and made it only a sex novel. The protagonist is portrayed as the devil in name only the character inputs were totally missing. The end was usual like a fairy tale with no explanation to the whole devil character thing or why or what was it that led him to the underworld. Overall too many links missing. It can be read if you are in a mood to read exotic writing else ???
Shiv is my favorite character out of all the devils in the Devil Series. He was the charming one who could entice everyone. Once u start reading this story, u just can’t stop. Very well narrated & writer has done full justice to characters. Writer has very beautifully weaved the story line & ensured its unpredictability till the last. Difficult to believe that Devil of the story can be gem of a person & he can make u fall in love with the character.
* Sizzling Romance * Charming Devil * Good Character transformations * Perfectly Articulated
She has set her heart to marry the man she loves. He trapped her in a Marriage as exchange in a business alliance. Untold Love blossomed despite hatred. Truths revealed to strengthen bonds But, confession never happened Only delayed to be special "He might be the devil. But giving in to his desires always took her to the heaven" HEA With no cliffhanger
It was a quick and easy read for me, i’ve always loved kasi’s books and how they represent Indian culture, it’s rare to find good authors with good books that are not famous, and kasi is one of them, I loved the enemies to lovers trope, the hidden elements of surprise, I love this book just as I did the others. I’m gonna read the others too. Kasi’s writing is excellent, and I love to read her books. This one is mmno exception.
Is there any of your book i did not read.... No none... Of all the books this is sooos soooo nice.. Ican say but am sure other devils story would beat this.... .... Very well written.... Characters perfectly placed... Plot.... So convincing.... Vrry well penned story. Must say. Keepbit up kasi..... ...
Just the kind of light read I would like any other day. M.V. Kasi is by far one of my favourite authors. I've been waiting for this book since last two months. Worth the wait !
There was much time difference between the two parts which for once made it a little difficult to remember and correlate the events of the two books. But this one was wow!
My favourite book of the Devil series by Kasi. The characters are so authentic in presentation that I was hooked. Kasi's execution of characters excite me as a reader. Despite not my genre, I really enjoyed the book, its leads and their romance.
M.V.Kasi I feel I am falling in love with your Devil..Shiv I loved reading this book .. The character are quiet intriguing .. Somewhere.. the devils character resembles my character... Its really a good book to read
Narrated in Dual POV is also a Standalone and no cliffhanger.
It was my first M V Kasi book, definitely not last and I am glad I found it. I really enjoyed Shiv & Naina's story.
What I liked the most in the book is that hero was not rude or jerk kind of guy and heroine was not stupid kind, also their reasons for doing things were logical, which I didn't found in a very long time.
It was a nicely written simple story which I couldn't put down.
