As I said before I absolutely hate giving books less than three stars because I respect the authors’ work but believe me when I say I couldn’t possibly give this book more, it would be unfair for all the other books I gave three stars.
Why I give this book two stars:
➼ Too long for my liking. I was kinda bored while reading it and in my opinion the story could have been developed in much less pages.
➼ Too many characters. Hero (Austin) has EIGHT siblings. Even now that I finished the book, I’m not sure I remember all their names and who did what. And of course, there are more side characters that are not Austin’s siblings. So, we’re talking about more than fifteen characters in total.
➼ Not so interesting plot. So, Austin and Holly have a one-night stand and they meet some days later at a school they both will be working. After that, they try to avoid each other even though they don't really want to. They decide to be friends with benefits as long they work together, and they develop feelings for each other. As I said, not so interesting…
➼ I couldn’t connect with the characters. Holly felt a bit immature. She doesn’t want to admit that she has feelings for Austin, she doesn’t voice her thoughts and only talks to her best friend and she lies to her mother about where’s she’s moving for work. Really? As for Austin, he has to be the grown up so that he can raise his younger siblings but other than that he’s a bit selfish and all he thinks about is his career which is ok of course but I couldn’t connect with them, and I didn’t feel their chemistry that much.
I actually considered to DNF this book @56% but then I thought that I should give it another chance. To be fair, there were some things that I liked but those that I didn't like were more. I’m sorry but I didn’t like it as much as I’d like to and I don’t think I will continue the series, at least not now.
