Nikki has lost out on true love again, but the grannies are pushing her to move forward. When a bowling league turns deadly, they're in for another unsolvable mystery. With no time to spare, they must figure out whodunit before an innocent man pays the price.
Shannon is a mother, wife, artist, and USA Today Bestselling Author. When she's not busy taking care of her family, she does everything from creating art with melted crayons to painting in the rain to writing entertaining stories under several different pen names. Her first mystery series features a flirtatious sleuth, a cooky grandma, and a retirement home of gun-toting vigilante grannies. Her stories are sure to entertain.
The first two books in the Glock Grannies Cozy Mystery Series have made the USA Today Bestsellers list a combined three times.
4.5 stars You gotta love the "Glock Grannies". Never a dull moment while solving this interesting mystery. One of my favourite humorous mystery series.
What a great way to start a story! Nikki is in handcuffs in the backseat of the vehicle as rain pours down the windows. She screams to be uncuffed because she’s not going to run. And then the grannies tell her she is no longer allowed to mope around the house and sulk – she has to get out and have fun! (That started me laughing since I had assumed she was in police custody! And the humor continued from there!) The ladies called themselves the Glock Grannies although they had not been solving crimes lately while Grandma recovered from her heart attack. Grandma’s heart attack had been stress-related when someone had held a gun to Nikki’s head and Grandma had been afraid to pull the trigger of her own gun and risk hitting the wrong person. So they weren’t sure if the other Grannies would try to solve the next big case or just disband.
But when a bowling rival, Bernice, is killed and stuffed in the ball return at the bowling alley, the Grannies are back on the case – with Nikki’s Granny heading up the pack! Can they solve this one? Although the cops are pointed to a homeless man, Benjamin, in possession of the bloody murder weapon, the Grannies don’t believe he did it. The chase is on!
This series featuring a much married and divorced young woman living with her Granny in a retirement village is very funny, especially when you add in that the Grannies are acting as a sort of vigilante crime solving team, complete with their Glocks. I really loved the opening to this book, where Nikki is handcuffed in the back of a car, but it isn't the police who have captured her, it's the Grannies, who are determined that she must stop moping about her lost love, and instead get out and have fun. I like that the characters are very human, and very diverse with some being distinctly eccentric, others very childish (pranking each other) and some quieter and deeper thinking, although they are all determined to get the most out of the time they have left. The mystery is very well handled and introduces some new characters to flesh out the story and makes for a fun but involving read. I can't wait for the next in the series. Living on a Spare by Shannon VanBergen is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number four in this amazing series written by a brand new author an I can not wait to read what this author will write about next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about cozy mysteries.

The Glock Grannies are on the move again!! Geraldine Dean lives in a retirement home in Florida. Since she does not like to be called a grandmother, she refers to Nikki who has come to stay in the spare room there as her daughters’s daughter. The grannies take Nikki out for a night of fun. They run into their rival bowling group. What a diverse myriad of personalities in both groups. When one of the rival bowling group ends up dead from blunt trauma in the bowling alley, the Glock Grannies get investigating. Hilarious shenanigans ensue.... An intriguing, interesting and enjoyable read involved in a well written mystery. Grab a copy and go along with the group for a good read. I volunteered to read Living On A Spare. Thanks to the author via Booksprout for the opportunity. My opinion is voluntary and my own. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This takes place some time after the first book in the series and Nikki is still living with her grandmother in Florida. As the book opens her grandmother is recovered from a heart attack but fretting because she doesn't want a repeat performance and has no idea of what might set it off again while Nikki is recovering from discovering an ex boyfriend is getting married, only a month after they broke up. Then a friend of one of the Glock Grannies is found killed and their friend is a suspect, a local news reporter makes a bet with a local detective that she will solve the case first and suddenly both granny and Nikki seem to regain their purpose. A great read for those who prefer cosy novels without violence, sex or bad language.
Very fun read. I've only just been introduced to this author, so I've come into the series late. Didn't make a bit of difference, which is huge in my opinion. If an author can write a series but the characters still come alive enough to glean enough backstory, then that is a well written book. What I'd have hoped for in this book, and other ebooks, is that the editing would have been fine by someone who has a clue about grammar (sorry, but this would have had blue ink all over it in days gone by). Nevertheless, a really fun read, the story was fun and the characters engaging. I'll probably read more form this author. I received a free copy for my honest opinion.
In the fourth story of the GLOCK GRANNIES, Nikki camps in her granny's spare room to nurse a heartache. When the granny brigade take her out on a night of fun they get involved with a rival granny group, and are shocked when one of them turns up murdered. Nikki and the granny brigade decide to help Owen from the local police. A fairly funny story, with unusual characters, lovable - but crazy seniors , who love to live and enjoy their life, solving the occasional mystery. A truly enjoyable read. Two groups of grannies are rivals. One of the other group was killed and one of the Block Grannies was a suspect. There are several possibilities and the grannies are investigating. Owen, a policeman friend of Nikki's, goes undercover with her to get information from homeless men. There is humor as well as good sleuthing. This is the only book in this series that I have read, but I will be looking for the rest.
I have mixed reactions to this book. It was the first in the series that I have read and that didn't seem to create any problems. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. I am somewhat curious to read more about the characters, but probably won't go out of my way to do it and have a rather hefty "to read" list that will take precedence. Partly it was a line between cozy and sexual innuendo, though there was nothing blatant.
Nikki is struggling with heartache, but the Grannies try to get her out. A confrontation with rival bowlers introduces Nikki to someone soon to be murdered. When one of their own seems to be guilty, they all get serious about finding the truth. Living On A Spare is an enjoyable novel. I especially enjoyed when Nikki goes undercover with the least likely partner ever.

I noticed this book because I have been a bowler my whole life so the cover caught my attention. And I love the books that you don't know what to expect and they end up being really good! I loved the who dun it and of course the mystery solving grannies are adorable. I definitely need to dive into more of the granny mystery books from this author. It did end kinda of quickly. It built up the whole time for it to end in just a few pages. But that's ok. I still enjoyed it.
Loved this book. Cannot wait to read other books in this series. No need to read them in order. I was fine with this being my first book I read in this series. Quick and easy read. Laughter out loud moments. Just a fun book to get lost in.

When the police can't seem to get crimes solved, leave it to these Glock carrying Grannies. Nikki came to visit her grandma in Florida to try and get her life together, never expecting murder. From the first to the fourth, this series is hilarious. Looking for a cozy, fun read, this is t!
The books in the Glock Grannies Cozy Mystery Series are just fun to read. Yes, there are murders, but they’re like stranger murders, so you don’t get real upset! Then when the Glock Grannies get on the case it’s just filled with merriment. If you’re looking for an easy, relaxing read, this series is for you.
What a fun twist on a mystery. These close friends, all retired and on the bowling teams, are ready to go at the drop of a body. I loved the personalities of the ladies and their dogged determination to find the killer. I also found the police detective quite endearing. Fun read!
I love this series! When an old friend and bowling rival is murdered, the Grannies are on the case. The plot is solid, but it’s the characters who make this a delightful read. I’m looking forward to the next book. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
Oh my GOSH! This was absolutely hilarious! I love these ladies because they are a hoot! The scene with Owen and the skirt...I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe! Shannon VanBergan has a great writing style and I look forward to her books! I loved it!
I've enjoyed reading this story of adventure and suspense. The author has put together a wonderful story for her characters. The group of senior ladies, along with the younger women have a good time trying to stay out of trouble.
Entertaining and interesting characters in a story full of mystery and intrigue. A good whodunnit with great characters and a little humor too. Good addition to the series.

What a story. Suspense and unique characters and an incredible storyline. And some goodwill and some wild times. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I'm still hurting from laughing so hard.
I love these seniors. They show us all that because you age, you don't have to become staid. They have bonded and are supportive of each other. It's the manner in which they show/give support that cracks me up. This series is a delightful change of pace.
This is a fun and entertaining read. The grannies are so full of life and good intentions. And the dialogues are so funny that they are gut-splitting. I can't wait for the next one in this series.
Another enjoyable mystery with Nikki and the Glock Grannies. Sad that this is the last one published as of today. Looking forward to reading more adventures in the future.
I enjoyed all 4 of the Glock Grannies Series books that are available. Light hearted, great and realistic characters. We all know older ladies that refuse to grow old quietly. These books are so enjoyable, I will read them again, and watch for new ones!
What a fun book! Some parts had me laughing so hard I cried! Especially at the end when Nettie yelled “strike!” You have to read it to find out why it’s so funny. Really fantastic!

The Grannies are back and in my opinion, BETTER THAN EVER! 😊 I liked this book so much that I even felt sorry for Nikki (who is not my favorite person). I couldn't help but laugh and I am praying for a wedding in the next book😉! Great read😍
I was so happy when I saw more adventures with the Glock Grannies The story line was great and I really got to know more about the characters. Shannon Van Bergen really knows these ladies and even cats. A fun read can hardly wait for the next adventure
I love how the ladies work and think together. Also how Nikki likes to help out with Owen on her side keeping us laughing. Also I like that it's a short story and doesn't drag on
