This was a gift for my sister, she was worried that her oldest son was starting to pull away as he entered middle school and she wanted to find a way to easily talk and ask questions.

I actually bought a few of these journals to see which she would like best and this journal was the clear winner. She said the questions were better, both for her and for her son. The other journals were somewhat repetitive and not nearly as much fun. They really loved some of the different activities, which she said helped keep the book fun and not boring.

Highly, highly recommend as a gift to a mom for a different and thoughtful surprise.
