به گمانم بزرگ‌ترین علاقه‌مندی‌م سفر کردن است و بزرگ‌ترین رویایی که همیشه در سرم چرخ می‌زند این است که درحالی از دنیا بروم که حداقل یک‌بار دورش را گشت زده باشم. از این رو همه جا جهانگردها را دنبال می‌کنم، روایت‌هایشان را می‌خوانم، تجربیات‌شان را جایی یادداشت می‌کنم که روزی ازشان استفاده کنم
فارغ از روایت‌های كتاب که بسیار جذاب و حتی آموزنده بود، چیزی که بیش از همه باعث شد این كتاب را دوست داشته باشم این بود که مدام متذکر می‌شد منتظر چه نشسته‌ای؟ هان؟ منتظر یک‌روز عالي که تمام شرائط سفر مهیا شود؟ این‌روز احتمالا قرار نيست برسد. مشغولیت‌ها روز به روز بيشتر می‌شوند. نکند ماجراجویی در دلت مرده؟ هان؟‌ همین الان بلد شو برای سفرت برنامه‌ریزی کن و راه بیوفت. همین الان. درست همين الان الان

به عنوان یک زن مسلمان که طبعا یکسری محدوددیت‌هایی داره، همیشه برام سوال بوده و سواله که تا حالا یک زن مسلمان جهانگرد داشتیم؟ تو اینستا یک مدت دنبالش گشتم ولی پیدا نکردم. از اون آرزوهایی‌ه که همیشه داشتم و گمونم فقط یکبار که تنهایی رفتم شیراز و اصفهان یک کم محققش کردم و سفرهای تنهایی و دانشجویی به عراق و عربستان که گاهی خودم کوچه ها و خیابون ها رو میگشتم. مقیاس خیلی خیلی کوچیکیه البته :))

حالا اینها رو در ریویو این کتاب نوشتم چرا؟ چون کتاب درباره جهانگردها و ماجراجوهای مختلفه. افرادی که به شیوه های مختلف خودشون، جهان رو یا قسمتی از اون رو گشتن و دیدن و کتاب اونها رو برای نوجوون ها معرفی میکنه و ترغیب میکنه به ماجراجویی. نترسیدن و دنبال کشف رفتن

کاش یک خانم مسلمان جهانگرد پیدا میکردم و خاطراتش رو میخوندم

من نه نوجوانم. نه عشق سفر، نه ماجراجو؛ ولی خواندن این کتاب برام لذت‌بخش بود و کیف داد. راستی، بعد از خواندنش هم کمی ماجراجو شدم، هم کمی عشق سفر و هم کمی نوجوان.

Disclaimer: this is a children’s book and I’m reviewing it as a 33-year-old man.

The artwork in the book is absolutely gorgeous. That alone justifies the price.

The selection of adventurers is not based on the most epic journeys, but a variety of different backgrounds/genders/ages to show that anyone can find adventure. This is inspiring, particularly since one was a woman in her 70s!

I would have liked years associated to each adventure. I also would have liked a deeper exploration of the struggle that comes with these journeys - I never quite felt that sense of raw fatigue and exhaustion which tends to come through with this genre. Maybe that’s to avoid scaring the book’s target audience :)

All in all a beautiful book and I would definitely recommend it as a gift for a kid.

A fantastic snapshot of the lives of some amazing adventures. What makes this book standout is the superb layout and illustrations but the carefully chosen heroes who at not your usual epic adventurers.
Great book for reluctant readers and for curious people.

Great Adventures are inspiring. Great adventures are here lead by people, just inspired and inspiring people not greater than other people. This is also inspiring. I remember being kid, I would have definitely loved this book. Illustrations by Kevin Ward are drowning you in a realm of details, small mundane items that take you far in space and time. The book has something precious, thanks to its old school revisited detailed drawings that turn great adventures in a thousand and one nights.

A delightful peek into the lives of some of the greatest explorers in human history. Humphreys selects a diverse roster of explorers with varying levels of fame, driving home the fact that anyone can be an adventurer if they want to.

The illustrations are fun, the stories are fascinating, Humphreys writes with clear passion - it's a great book for budding adventurers. My only negative is that I personally wouldn't mind it including a bit extra detail on the events and people in question. But of course, I'm a good bit older than the intended audience.

One of my children's favourite books ever. Our copy is very well worn from many re-reads. The stories and facts and the great illustrations really captured my children's imaginations. If you want to inspire your children to be adventurous then you should definitely get this book!

As it is a collection of quick summaries of some excellent adventurers, it is a good jumping off point to more in depth reading. My children are team Felice Benuzzi.

کتاب خیلی باحالیه!
اگر عاشق سفر و ماجراجویی باشید که کُلی کیف خواهید کرد
اگر نه، باز هم لذت می‌برید از خواندن ماجراجویی‌های این ۲۰ نفر
و البته از تصاویری که لذت خواندن و دیدن کتاب را چندبرابر کرده.
نکته‌ی جالب تو همه‌ی روایت‌ها این بود که فقط کافیه بخواهی و اراده کنی
دیگر هیچ چیز نمی‌تواند جلوی ماجراجویی شما بگیرد.
