After The Weekend

Rate this book
THE NEW JOURNEY The Phat Five return to Toronto, but it's far from normal after a life-changing weekend. Ajani is physically wounded and has to confess his past to Savannah. Eros got caught cheating, but will he learn from his mistakes and change his ways? Q isn't sure whether his atheist wife Katrina will accept his new faith. K.J doesn't know if his faith will get in the way of signing a record deal.
All of this is taking place while Teddy enjoys his spiritual high. AFTER THE WEEKEND is the beginning of a new normal for The Phat Five, but the drama doesn't go away.

Loving this

I'm really enjoying this story! The first two were great! It's well written and good plot. I can't believe a Christian novel can have action, real life events, & keep you wanting more. Great development of characters too.

An very inspiring read!

The third installment of the Phat Five Weekend dives into the aftermath of the emotionally intense, gripping narrative and non stop drama of book 2, which left the reader craving for more. D. A. Bourne has crafted an inspiring and riveting tale in, 'After the Weekend' (THE PHAT FIVE 3)

Just one day after three of Teddy's friends made a huge step to turn their lives around, trouble brews. Turning over a new leaf, as Bourne shows, doesn't necessarily mean that the consequences of one's actions disappear overnight. But their new found faith in God shines through and they are determined to stay on the right track.

Overall, I enjoyed the plot in this book, along with the wisdom nuggets and the Christian messages weaved into the characters' lives. I immediately call to the mind the advice X-Secular gave KJ regarding his music career as a new born believer in an industry that demands control over its content. Being a new convert could feel as if one is navigating through uncharted waters.

The book was well written, and a quick read that flowed easily. I said before and I will say it again, D A. Bourne is a gifted and an anointed writer and is deserving of his accolades.

My opinion

An excellent tie in from the previous book. I'm so mad about the cliffhanger though. How does this author engage the reader with the separate lives of 5 completely different best friends? TO has great food and great people. I feel like I know these characters. Eros Jr is completely disgusting, arrogant and rude. KJ is allowing his talent to grow as he practices forgiveness. Teddy and Janet are so cute. I love the Christian but human in Ted. Katrina better chill though. How can you not believe in God? I hope lil nasty didn't sleep with Q's teammate at work. But Ajani is Bae. His changed behavior is everything. I'm glad Savanah prayed because prayer is powerful. He changed for her and AJ. But will Rancel the rat find him? Will the police find him? So many questions. They author outdid himself.
