London

First, do no harm...
But he hurts me like no other.

I left France because there was nothing left for me there. No more school, no more family, nothing. Starting a new life is never easy but I was prepared. I was ready for it.
Until I met Dr. Zachary Ford, the tall, dark and tasty curse of my life. He is rough and full of hate...for me, for her, for women in general. But there’s something magnetic between us. Visceral. A reaction I didn't believe I was capable of.
Zach is my Savior but he’ll also be my downfall.
He’ll break me.

Zach

I will remember that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife...
But I can't give her sympathy. I don't want to.

The day London walked into my Operation Room was the day everything else went to hell. She's a delicate flower and I’m a brutal man, I should stay away. I should let her walk. But I can't. I need to have this woman, to take her, and to make her shiver under my touch.
I will hurt her.
And I might even enjoy doing it.

I never chose to be a writer... Writing chose me. In Romania, we have a popular tradition for when a child's hair it's cut for the first time. Friends and family gather to celebrate the future of the child and the little one is given a tray full of objects. Now, on this tray, you can place anything from money, car keys to food, and pets. Every object is a symbol and it's said that the first three things the child would pick will determine his or her path in life.

My loves, I picked red lipstick, a pencil, and a glass full of whiskey...I picked the romance writer's starting pack.

I was fortunate enough to put my work out into the world, become an author, and share this incredible and uplifting journey with each and every one of you.

This book.. wow! I must say, good job Diane and thank you for giving me a new obsession! I’ve been having some weird reading block for the past two weeks, but not with this book. I literally could't put this one down. I must also say that this is my first book about doctors and nurses, so it was good to try something new.

What I loved the most was London. She is the type of heroine you just simply adore. I admired her strength and how dedicated she was to her job even when certain people treated her badly. Risking her career to make sure that a patient is ok? Yes, that was a bold move and I was here for it.

Dr Ford was seriously an as*hole, yet I couldn’t help but like him. His jokes truly made me laugh. I loved how he kept on making fun of London’s name. Sometimes the same repetitive joke in books gets boring, but Diane knew how to make it work the whole time. Zach’s character development was truly great, because in the end he changed into this amazing man for London. And that’s what I love the most about books, when the hero learns from his mistakes and wants to change.

Although that Dr Ford and London seem to be the complete opposites, I quickly found myself to be obsessed with them. The passion between them was beautifully written and I could feel it from the very first start. When they finally hit it off after some bickering, I loved the passion in their relationship and some of their scenes were so. hot.

The only „bad“ thing I should point out were the grammatical errors. Sometimes there were so many and it was too much. However, after sharing my review on my Instagram account, I found out that Diane is working on this issue which I find great that she’s decided to address it this soon and wants to change this asap.

Anyway, I honestly cannot wait for the second book, because this is simply amazing!

Oh my BEATING heart!! 💙 This book was fantastic! Loved the banter btwn Dr. Ford and London! Let's not forget about the off-the-charts steamy sex scenes and his over the top ALPHAness he's got going on! (The chemistry those two have together is incredible.) I couldn't decide if I wanted to laugh/cry or punch Dr. Ford 😏 but all in all, it was an amazing FIRST book!! The entire crew at Chicago General was hilarious and whitty!! Can't wait for the 2nd book!! 💙

Chicago Code Blue was great read. It's a hot enemies to lovers story about doctor Zach and his scrub nurse London. Zach is the guy that I hate to love and London is girl you have to love. Author doesn't shy away from some true facts and that makes this book a page turner.

4.5 Stars. I devoured this book. I loved it so freaking much. Zach and London owned me. I seriously didn't want it to end. I need more! ⁣

Zach is a surgeon, and London is his new scrub nurse who came from France. Zach was a really huge jerk though. 😂 He looks down on London so much, but he does that to see if it will help him not fall for her. He was betrayed in his previous relationship so he was afraid to fall in love again. I'm so glad that London stands up for herself though. I love their banters back and forth. I cracked up so much on some parts. And boy...those steamy scenes! It was so hot. Lol⁣

I can't wait for the second book!! It needs to be here already!⁣

The reason why I docked down .5 stars was because there was quite a few of mistakes. But because I love the book a lot so I overlooked it.

I’ve read it in one sitting and couldn’t get enough of these enemies to lovers, sexy alpha doctor Zach and his unexpected love story with London.
Sometimes life gives you just a tiny opportunity to decide what you want from life and your future and, if you want to grab it, you have to cut all the loose ends with your past before starting anew. And that’s what Zach decides to do when he realises that Cupidon’s arrow stabbed his infatuated heart.
It’s my first book by the author but won’t be the last and I can’t recommend it enough.

I loved this book so freaking much, Zach & London were the best! The entire crew at Chicago General were amazing, & I really loved the banter between all of them (mainly Zach & London of course ❤️)

Zach is a surgeon and London is his new scrub nurse who has just transferred to Chicago from France; Zach makes it hard for him & London to get along, but his reason for doing so isn’t all that bad. You find out a lot about how Zach has been betrayed in the past however, I'm so glad that London was such a badass & constantly stood up for herself.

I can't wait for the second book, I needs it right now!

I tried. I really tried but I can’t read any more of this.

The formatting is awful. Chapters “inside” other chapters, spacing problems, even this (“) was a problem in like 90% of the begging of characters conversations.
This made me really itchy when I was reading because I freaking hate bad formatting, but then the characters and the story were so bland that I just can’t read any more of it.

I was really excited to start reading this author and was so happy to find this book free on Amazon but this was just a disappointment... what a shame.

I kinda like and dislike this book at the same time tbh, the hero Zach is a certified douchebag, man whore, jerk and misogynistic asshole. And I keep imagining Dr. Burke from Grey's Anatomy whenever I'm in reading Zachary's POV. Well the only good thing about him is, he knew and owned it. And for the heroine London an exchange nurse from France well in the beginning she really stands for herself and I admire that, however when they started hooking up she suddenly become fool's in love and stupid & dumb plus there's no grovelling happens after the stupid act that Zach did with her ex-fiancé😑.

Well, as I said I did like this as well, I like the banter and whenever Zach calls London different country/state name just to push her buttons, its hilarious af.

Overall this is not a bad book by any means, its entertaining and if your fan of Grey's Anatomy (which I am, what a great show♥️) you definitely gonna like or love this.

PS: I feel like Dr. James Sullivan will get his own book, after what happened.

TYPOS, GRAMMATICAL ERRORS EVERYWHERE

The grammatical errors were atrocious!! Some sentences didn’t even make sense. And “Chef Sandin” ?!?!? She’s the CHIEF Medical director of a hospital not a Chef. It’s CHIEF! Ughhh. Could have been a decent book but yikes!!

This book needs a good grammatical edit. I could not get past the first chapter due to all of the errors. I’d love to give it a try if the author can have it edited and republish it.

2.5 ⭐⭐💫

I was soo excited for this read. I even made it into a buddy read. I knew exactly what I was getting into, people said that I was either gonna love or hate Zack and am definitely in the hate category. I really don't see how people can love him. I knew he was gonna be an asshole but he isn't a sexy mouthwatering asshole. Oh, no, he is a stupid and childish one. That got burn once and can't get over his ex and now thinks that every women is a snake. He was sosososososo whiny. And full of self pity and the whole "am never gonna get close to any woman ever again" type of dipshit. He was a dick that didnt even apologize when they finally got together bc he "was never gonna let another woman pull him by his balls." Boy he needs to have some bc no one can pull empty air around. And when the ex showed her face again he was still hooked on her. It was honestly pathetic.

The only thing that was remotely ok with this book was London but even her I have a hard time with. She had fire in her and was so nice. And at first she didn't take his bullshit if she didn't have to and was even mature enough to separate herself from him at the beginning. But then they got together and she became a doormat. Bc he was still a major dick after they got together. Forgiving him everything, every single time. When he clearly didn't deserve shit.

They had no other chemistry other than lust and that ran out for me. And the ending!!! He pull that fucking stunt and he doesn't really say sorry and London forgives him soooo easily after his "explanation." She deserved so much better and got stuck with the short end of the stick.

Have I told you how much I hate Zack. He can go to hell and suck a dick for all i care about. Soo disappointing and now I don't even want to read the next book which is the only reason I even picked this one up.

we start this book with our Hero, Zachary Ford, making fun of our heroine's name, London and when she explains why she has that name (spoiler: because that's the name of her deceased mother) his answer is "sorry not sorry for" for making fun of her. And right there i knew I was going to hate this guy.

So now I'm giving you a fair content warning ⚠️ because the following review will contain a lot of frustration and swearing so I apologize in advance.

First I gotta say, I like the setting and the general plot. Side characters were great and I can't wait to read the next book because I love Sullivan. I like our main girl, London too. She's sweet and super smart (albeit sometimes she acts dumb) and very likable and if this was a review just for her this would be way higher but what happened is that my liking of her (and Sullivan!) doesn't outweighs my HATRED TOWARDS DR ARSEHOLE! OMG! I HATE THAT PRICK! This idiot is a misogynist, sexist, slut shaming, nurse degrading piece of shit with superiority complex. I hated him! (As from now on ill refer to him as Dr. Arsehole or Dr. X car brand as he "cutesy" did with London).

Because you see, our boi here contacts women to have sex with that are just like him, but then after the deed, he slut shames them because they enjoy said sex and then says shit like "She’s another reason why I think women are snakes" about those women. he trash.

Also, he makes fun of Sullivan for treating his wife and other women respectfully, calling him a P***y and thats the exact moment I wanted to throw something at him.

But, the funniest part is that by the end of the book another male doctor says something degrading and sexist towards the nurses and he (Dr arsehole) suddenly is all "thats so wrong and sexist! I'm going to beat his arse for being disrespectful" and I'm like what? that's what you've been saying since chapter one! Wtf! But then in the same chapter you find out Dr. Volvo's mom hates misogynist men and I was like "and why did she raised one?!?" That made no sense!

The fact that his ex came back in the end so we feel bad for Dr. Chevrolet and be like "awww poor baby, we get it why you were a jerk and now we love you!" yeah no. he's still Dr Prick.

The cherry on top of this though is that he does something nice/decent for her in one chapter and then in the next one he gives us this pearl: “I expect to feel all that gratefulness on my dick, baby.” see people? chivalry is not dead! London by the end tells us that she dreamed of her Prince Charming... yeah, you find him honey... Shrek's prince charming.

I hated that there was virtually no groveling on his part after what he did because to be honest he doesn't deserve London. She deserves better.

Now onto my baby Sullivan's book because I want to forget this.

I enjoyed this story. Dr. Zachery Ford was an Alpha asshole & if you’ve been around for awhile on my page you know I’m a sucker for them lol. I haven’t read a medical romance so when i seen this was one and i seen the cover and the amazing formatting i just knew i needed it. I’m a sucker for greys anatomy and it def gave me those type of vibes and i loved it 🙌🏻 i recommend grabbing a copy and taking a chance on Dr.Ford & Nurse London I’m sure you’ll love their story 🖤

I liked the book, London and Zach were sooo hot, but I have to admit I wanted to punch him many times and even though I liked his asshole personality at first, I kind of got tired after a while, London was a good character, I like her determination. It was a light read, with sexy, funny scenes.
Waiting for the next book!

Okay so this was a must read because 1. I work in the medical field and 2. I live in the Chicago suburbs sooooo this was definitely on my TBR. I love medical romance/enemies to lovers books and this definitely had a storyline that I devoured in one sitting. But the reasoning behind the three stars instead of a 4 or 5 would be based off the fact that Zach was one of the biggest douchebags I have ever read. Which I normally love but I wish London would have made him work harder for her forgiveness you know? He was an absolute terror to her so I would’ve loved to see her hold a little more power over him for a bit. Because of that I felt the ending seemed rushed. Despite that and a few editing/proofreading problems throughout I enjoyed it and will definitely be reading book two.

I have had this book on my TBR for a few months now.
We all know the problem with TBRs is that we never read all the things on it.
After reading ACOMAF, I needed a break for my brain. I wanted to change it up and read something different. I was scrolling through my kindle and quickly chose Chicago Code Blue by @dianeportmanray.
If any of you know me well, you know that I am a die hard Grey's Anatomy fan. Idk if it's that I work in health care, or just that the show is amazing, but I love it. Really, I love any tv show medical related. Lol.
I was so excited to read this book. Surprisingly enough, it was my first medical related book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the story, I loved the dynamic between characters, and I loved that Dr. Zachary Ford is your top notch alpha-asshole.
I really enjoyed the author's ability to turn him from such a complete douche canoe to such a likable character. I loved that London wasn't afraid to stand up for herself to Zach and push him back when he was being rude.
If you're looking for a good book to tide you over until Grey's Anatomy returns to tv, then I suggest this book!
If you've read it, slide into my DM's and let me know what you think!

P.S. I will say, there were a lot of grammatical errors and misspellings, but to me that didn’t take away from the story. If that’s something that you can’t get past, then keep that in mind!

What I liked about this book:
First of all Greys Anatomy is my favourite show ever and so I really enjoyed that this was a hospital romance. From my own knowledge, the hospital events and terminology in this book were all pretty accurate. Also I love myself a grumpy hero and found some of the banter between Zach and London really cute and funny.

What I didn’t like:
Unfortunately for me it was a little too fast paced, Zach was attracted to her immediately but at one point in the book he threatens to leave the hospital if she is not working there which I thought was a bit too much too soon. Secondly, I thought some of the conflict within the book was unrealistic for example she tells him at one point that she is taking a day off work to go to an event which will be going on throughout the night and he assumes that she will be sleeping with someone else? I found that this book also had a bit too much slut shaming which made me a little uncomfortable and there were a lot of grammatical errors within this book.

Overall, my low rating doesn’t mean that I hated this, there were just a lot of problems that prevented me from giving it higher than 2. If you like Greys anatomy like me, the actually hospital related plot was really fun and that’s what kept me reading this.

This was an ok book. The blurb really intrigued me but not sure if it delivered... Umm there is actually lots of grammar mistakes in this book. The guy is a manwhore and a total jerk face and honestly I didn't like him at all not even at the end of the book but I did like London and I feel so freaking sorry for her having to be paired up with this douchebag lol. He made fun of her because of her name and kept calling her different names. He made her life hell just because she was his new scrub nurse and because she was hot. When it comes to romance books the sex scenes are important to me and I loved the sex scenes in this book. Also didn't really like how the book ended..? Even though it was the epilogue. It was so.. abrupt. Maybe there isn't gonna be a second book??

Not great with reviews but still recommend this book

The steam and banter is very real in this book! 🔥 Having worked in the medical field and knowing that this was an enemies to lovers trope, I had to read it! Nurse London and her boss, Dr. Zachary Ford kept my eyes glued to this book until I finished it in less than 6 hours!

Dr. Zachary Ford is a tall, dark, sometimes funny, sexy a-hole, blaming his previous messed up relationship for his current rude, misogynistic behavior towards London.

London is a sweet and strong, dedicated to her job, will bend over backwards for you, type of girl.

Although London and Zach seem like complete opposites, something about them lures you in. They have an attraction like no other and when they aren’t bickering or arguing, the passion and love they have for each other balances everything out.

Can Zach overcome his past demons and can London accept him after all of the mistreatment? Is their love strong enough? ....

Do NOT waste your time.

MC is a dick, an abusive jerk.

“Keep your whore behavior for when you are off the clock.”

" I know I’m an asshole, but she is the one who fucks me up, so she’s supposed to shut up and take it."

“Look, Moscow, I was a jerk. I’m ready to acknowledge my mistake and even apologize for it. I did some things out of impulse because...this physical reaction we have. Stop with the bullshit, I don’t distress you. You were hungry for it, don’t try to take me for a fool I can promise to play nice and we can start fresh. I’d still expect a hundred and ten percent from you at work, though.”

I bet she was hungry for harassment and disrespect.
