Taking the commissioner’s daughter wasn’t part of the plan. It should have been an easy smash and grab. Instead I captured Lara, so scared and helpless…

She has a dark past, and an even darker purpose...

I’ll have to pry her secrets out of her. Before they destroy us both.

For the most part I did enjoy this as the heroine is likeable and the plot was very intriguing. The only slight negative is that I just didn’t find the H as alpha as I would prefer. He felt almost like a beta which is ok sometimes but in dark romance I prefer them to be a little more brutal. I did really like how he was all for the heroine and as I said the heroine was really sweet and likeable. Looking forward to more

More wholesome than I thought, and similar in vibes like Snow. Dom and Lara getting together was a bit fast and a trope I (sorta) dislike was in here, but I thought both were executed really well in the end.

Also, Ivan and Sloane are THAT dream team couple. They were fucking everything 🥺😭

This is my second book by Sophie Lark, and she's definitely earned me as a lifer. I'm not sure I love her writing to the point that I'll set alerts to pick up her new releases same day, but I will definitely be keeping my eye out and if I see anything pop up, it'll be added to my TBR with a quickness!

I'm not sure if I would've had more of an emotional pull to this book had I read the rest of the series or not—I realized after picking it up it's actually the final book—but it felt satisfying as a standalone. And, honestly, there was plenty of emotional impact without knowing the other characters or plot lines.

Lara was such a relatable and sweet heroine. She had some serious inner strength going on despite a heartbreaking past, and when Dominik entered the picture, I found myself rooting for him to help her find revenge. (And, I'll admit, his possessiveness and do-anything-for-her mentality was hot af. Just sayin'.)

I received an ARC of this book from the author and BookSirens and am leaving a voluntary review.

I was actually reading The Bully and I completely stopped reading it(I was like 1 or 2 chapters in) so I could read Dom's

And it was all because of this scene in The Bully where Dom made a cameo in.

Plenty of the bosses have pulled the girls onto their laps, preferring flirtation over further networking
Not Dominik Petrov—he stands stiffly against the wall with his arms folded over his broad chest, rebuffing the advances of the stunning women who would prefer to drape themselves against his muscular frame instead of the fat and sweating bodies of the older Bratva who have let themselves go to see

"Dominik,” my father says, holding out his good hand to shake. “Ever faithful to Lara, I see.”

“A man does not drink from a toilet when has fine wine at home,” Dominik replies dismissively.

“Don’t let Isay hear you liken the feminine flowers of Moscow to a toilet,” my father chuckles.

There is just something about faithful men that gets my ovaries in a twist.

This was a fairly easy read to devour, It didn't give me a headache in thinking if the Hero was ever going to cheat on the heroine(like most romance books)

I think the mafia world was actually done quite well(Much better than Cora Reily's for sure) It was well-thought-out and I would have loved to read more about the ins and out of it in this world.

I love Dom & Lara's relationship, it was cute and you can tell Dom really care and respect Lara. Though their relationship is a little insta, I didn't mind it at all, I like it when the Hero are all in from the start.

If there were more portion of the book that was showed rather than told, I would have enjoyed it more.
Some major scene like Dom's brother finding out who Lara really is would have been better showed.

Another solid read. I absolutely loved Lara and just wanted her to finally break free. Dom was so protective over her from their first meeting and he went SO soft as the book went along. I loved them together and they just had such great chemistry.

“My love for her is so powerful and overwhelming that it’s almost painful. If I think about it too long, it terrifies me.”

Another great installment in Sophie Lark's Underworld series. There was a bit of mystery surrounding Lara's identity and the pretenses of her relationship with the commissioner, and it was so interesting to see the plot unfold. I loved Dom as a side character in Ivan and I was so happy to read about his own love story!

Ash is the sexy and emotional conclusion to the Colors of Crime series, and what a fantastic conclusion it was. Sophie Lark brings readers a story full of angst and intrigue and a beautiful journey between two lovable characters.

Lara and Dominik were written so well and I really enjoyed the way they came together. Lara was so sweet and likeable, and I loved the subtle strength that she carried within herself. Her past was so heartbreaking and I really wanted her to not only find peace but to get revenge. Dominik was such a great Hero and I loved the way he treated Lara. His possessiveness of her from the moment they met was so awesome, as was the way he was so patient with her. Their relationship developed in a way that was natural and honest, and the intimate scenes between them were hot and full of emotion.

The plot was perfectly balanced and I loved the intensity of the action scenes at the end of the story. The mafia elements were great and the romance was as well. The side characters were all stellar and added another layer of entertainment to the story. I loved seeing Sloane and Ivan again and really enjoyed the humor that they brought to the story. I am so sad to say goodbye to this series and the fantastic characters that Sophie Lark has given her readers. I look forward to seeing what this author has in store for her readers next!

Dom and Lara's story was an enjoyable read. What they had was a healthy relationship. Though their start may have started as a lie on Dom's side it still was not toxic after they laid out everything and told each other the truth.

It was an instant attraction to Dom, and him accidentally stumbling with her was just a luck thrown out by the universe to him. He was so smitten with Lara, and couldn't keep her out of his mind. I liked that with all of his obsession and protectiveness towards her, it didn't make him an annoying character. He was likeable all throughout the book, a good brother, husband, and father too.

As for Lara, I loved her strength and the courage it took for her to escape her abusive father. She was so resilient after everything that she went through. Her character was so innocent and nice but fierce as well when the situation arises. She didn't back down most especially when the people she loved were being threatened and put into risk.

Overall, I liked this book. The two of them were so good together. I think what made me like this even more was the fact that Dom didn't give up with Lara and Lara didn't make him sweat so much. There wasn't too much push and pull and the story just focused with their relationship progress and character development.

This was my second book in this series and I liked this even more than Ivan's story

“Everyone else wants to capture her, cage her, even kill her. Except me. I want her to be free to fly away and come back to me, whenever she wants. I want her to be mine, but not because I’ve trapped her. Because we belong together. And because she knows I’ll keep her safe from anyone and anything in the world.”

i wish that ending wasn't rushed because i felt like that was the most action we got through the book. i liked this even tho it was insta-love. i'm not a fan of it but this surprised me so much.

also i don't know how, but i gasped when lara revealed her father. like how did i not put two and two together??? i usually also figure out the plot/mystery in all the books i read but i don't know why i didn't figure this out. damn i'm impressed with all honesty.

dom and lara were very cute. i mean i felt their love because lara's safe haven was him. ugh so fucking cute. did i wish she got her freedom instead of being locked up from one person to the next, fuck ya but at least dom didn't cage her.

Great story! It was also cool that we got to see the characters from “Emerald”. Don was sweet as a bratva guy can be! I was shocked that Ivan was so accepting of Lara. The chemistry between Dom and Lara was off the charts hot. Her twist in the story was very interesting. I didn’t think it was going there and I thought something really bad was going to happen to her. I have loved this series and I am sad to see it end. It end up on a really high note!

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.

I kept thinking of this the entire time I was reading: puppy love 💗

this is the most “innocent” book I’ve read of Sophie because of how Dom and Lara love. The plot here wasn’t that great and it felt underwhelming, but the back story and everything was good. It brought out emotion out of me, especially when talking about Lara’s brother. I liked the characters foundation, it was strong.

But kinda meh also. I liked it and even though it was a bit too cutsy, I liked the change from the usual we get from Sophie.

It felt lackluster at times, especially with the plot, but I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this book and getting to know Dom some more outside his family in the Bratva. I enjoyed their family dynamic a lot, but when he was with Lara, we got to see a more sensitive side to him. Lara and Dom meet in an unusual way since he kind of kidnaps her for a few minutes and then later we see them meeting again, but they both have secrets they are keeping. There were surprises that I saw coming then there were a few that shocked me and I didn’t see coming at all. It was action packed and full of hot steamy alpha-ness that Dom was perfection for. They both brought out the best in each other and helped each other see things from different perspectives. I really loved how supportive, protective, and loyal Dom was to not only Lara but his whole family. Another great read in this series.

Dom! The brother of Ivan. The father of the legendary Adrik (The Savage) and sweet Kade. The "faithful man" we saw cameo in Dean's book (The Bully).

I liked him, I liked Lara, I even liked them together... this story was just missing a little something for me that would've brought it to the next level. Maybe it was because there were a few small time jumps, so a lot of relationship development happened off page? A few weeks... four months... two months... etc.

The story of Lara's mother was super horrifying, probably the single most haunting thing I've read in a Sophie Lark book.

DOM 🥵

Dom and Lara sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G... and we all know what happens next.

God damn, this was one amazing forbidden romance read! A high profiled Bratva cannot date the commissioner's daughter but one look at Lara and Dom was done. He became so fixated on her and needed to be in her life. Was it wrong? Yes. Did he care? No.

Both have secrets.
Secrets that should keep them apart.
Secrets that could ruin both their lives.
But they didn't care.
Instead the secrets only made them stronger.

Sophie Lark can absolutely do no wrong in my books. I get wrapped up into every single one of these stories and instantly fall in love with these characters. Also, these HEA endings are pure perfection, especially this one.

Great read!

I'm so glad I had a chance to read another Dark Mafia book, I loved Ink and was so happy to get the next book. Dom is a perfect lead character, he's fiercely protective, strong, and totally in love with Lara. Who doesn't want a sexy, tattooed boyfriend who will literally kill for you? Lara is also an interesting character, she's been through a lot and has a lot of secrets. She desperately needs someone like Dom to be there for her and whom she can trust.

The romance is fun, flirty, and steamy and I loved it. The couple fit so well together and I didn't want to stop reading. I also liked the criminal parts, a couple of times I got so anxious, worrying about the characters and hoping everything would be okay. This is a fast paced, entertaining read and I have to go back and read the rest of the series now!

Finally got to read Dom's book and it didn't disappoint! I enjoyed reading how Dom and Lara met and then fell in love. It was just so sweet and I just want more of them! There are a lot of scenes that made me so nervous for them but I'm glad it worked out in the end. I mean, why wouldn't it? Dom and Lara's relationship is so hot and healthy and I liked how accepting they are of each other. The dog is also one of the best supporting character here. I also loved Snow and Sasha's smol cameo hehe.

Can't wait to read The Savage, the final book of the author's interconnected series!

I cried

Oh man, where do I even begin with this one... FRTC, but in the mean time...

Two things I loved
1) RUSLAN, the best guard dog in history, who brought the MC from fearing dogs due to trauma, to THIS. CHILLS.
Then I see a black shadow creeping up the stairs. For a moment I can’t believe my eyes. I think it’s hope that’s blinding me, or desperation. But I know my dog. Ruslan crept inside the stable, much more stealthily than Davit.
Whoever tried to break into the nursery let Ruslan out. He followed my scent, through wind and rain. And he found me.
I keep my eyes fixed on Davit’s face, so he doesn’t know what’s coming up behind him.
And then, when I see the white of Ruslan’s fangs, I say, “Ataka.” Ruslan snarls and leaps.

2) Queen Assasin Sloane making appreances with Ivan in all their michevious, badass glory.
Wherever the rest of the Kazarians are, I doubt they’re faring well against Dom and Ivan’s highly trained men. Not to mention my sister-in-law.

Sloane is truly a force.

Might be a Snow spoiler below - so don't read if you haven't read SNOW yet!
When I cried it didn't even involve the MC's of this book. It was for Snow. At the end of he & Sasha's story, they were boarding a flight to NYC where hopefully he'd live his dream of winning the Heavy Weight Champion in Madison Square Garden. So, naturally, Ivan Sloane, Dom & Lara end up in NYC right in time to watch the fight.
The MC grabs Snow’s gloved hand, pulling it straight up into the air. He shouts, “Give it up for the new heavyweight champion of the world…SNOW!”
When I read this part tears were POURING. I was a full sap. Fuck. Yes. Snow!

This book is about Dom (Ivan's brother) and Lara. While it can be read as a standalone is part of the Underworld series and for the best experience should be read after Ivan and Snow (at least) or just follow the series order.

This book definitely had a lot twist and turns but for some reason I couldn't connect with the main characters. It was very instalovey (a recurring trope in this series) but I still enjoyed it. It was nice to see Ivan and Sloane again, and Snow and Sasha.

Lara’s character has one of the more painful and tragic backgrounds out of the Sophieverse lineup. Coming from a home life that exists in a league of its own in terms of cruelty and pain, she finds solace in the softy with a hard shell Dominik.

Dom is surprisingly tender and gentle fresh off of Roman’s story.

Despite their initial meeting being a kidnapping and hostage situation, Dom's fascination with Lara is curious and wholesome. He takes interest in her passions and wants nothing more than to make her feel safe.

And Lara.

Lara has been pushed to her absolute limit and still remains optimistic and gentle. Her relationship with Pavel is a complex one with layers that are pulled back slowly over time.

I'm in love with this series

In this book we meet Dom but also revisit Ivan and Sloane from the first book of the series. Dom is Ivans brother and it’s only natural that we get a closer look on their Bratva family and their more or less evil deeds.

This book was good. The characters were okay, and the mystery was intriguing. It was interesting to learn about Laras past and secrets, but there could’ve been more to this story. It lacked in substance, especially her relationship with the commissioner could have been a little more fleshed out.

What I liked was that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama between Lara and Dom, even if there were misunderstandings, they talked about them and I liked that, it’s not something I often witness in novels. It made their romance feel more real and mature.

This is the final book of the colors of crime series, I'm sad it is over because I enjoyed every story. This book is Dominik Etrov's story. Dom is Ivan's brother and belongs to the Bratva. While on a mission, he meets Lara, The current police commissioner's daughter and she grabs his attention. The story has drama, it is dark and violent, and beautiful, steamy and full of twists and secrets. I loved this story and the series!

Sophie Lark is a new to me author and this book may be the eighth book is the Colors of Crime series, it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. The storyline was fantastic and overall action packed and entertaining. There was incredible chemistry between Lara and Dom and the sex scenes were steamy! I definitely need to read more from this author. Ash by Sophie Lark is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
