Seth mounted and glanced up the hill. What he saw horrified him. The Flatheads were streaming down towards them. They erupted into wild war-cries, brandishing their bows, sending their mounts in a recklessly wild plunge down the slippery hillside. 'Run for it!' Jules yelled and bent low over his horse's neck. They lit out by the way they had come. The pair were riding neck-and-neck, faces taught and defiant. Seth twisted backwards and tried to estimate the numbers pursuing them. There were at least eight Flatheads, probably more. Eight, nine, ten...There was no time to make sure.
