Now that Sue is finally getting used to Tai-chan, it’s time to teach him how to be a cat. Tai-chan takes a crash course and learns about cat territory, manners, and how you should respond to humans. He’s all about following Sue around, especially when it’s time to play and eat. As Sue teaches this new cat all about cat life, she discovers that she’s now bonding with this adorable new kitten!

Like the first volume, this is such a cute and heartwarming story that’s simple enough for kids while telling a story that’s great for family reading. This time around, we follow Sue and Tai-chan around as Sue teaches her new kitten friend how to be a cat. Tai-chan takes these lessons very seriously and is ready to be a cool senior cat just like Sue. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Tai-chan figures out how to get on the kitchen counter while ignoring Sue’s warnings that they aren’t allowed up there. In true cat form, Tai-chan ignores the warnings and finds himself in a bit of a pickle when Natsuki comes home. I was cracking up over Tai-chan’s chosen hiding place. It was so cute and silly. What a little poof ball!

We also get to meet some of the neighborhood cats as Tai-chan learns about cat territory. All is okay if the cats announce that they’re coming through, but he misses the point and announces he’s coming through all around the house. It’s so cute to see the two of them bond, much to Sue’s surprise. All that wild kitten energy gets to her and poops her straight out.

This series is so cute and takes me back to how much fun all the crazy kitten energy was when my cats were still kittens. I also love that there was a contest held for the book and the winning cats were featured in their own chapter! It was even more exciting to see pictures of the winning cats along with notable mentions at the end of the book. I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be more real cats making it into the book after this.

Adorable cat shenanigans again! I love the dynamic of Sue and Tai-chan. They teach each other so much, and it's wrapped up in a cute cat package!

Some more adorable mischief by Sue and Tai-Chan. This time we get to meet some neighborhood cats too! The funniest scene for me was when Tai-Chan was trying his hardest to make a scary face, but was just too cute! It's okay Tai-Chan, no one takes me seriously either for similar reasons ;)

I also thought it was very cool how the author had a contest, so readers can have their cats featured. I wonder is she will feature real kitties for future volumes. I'm enjoying this series thus far, and it is a nice, cute fall read for cat lovers. I hope to find volumes 3&4 the next time I venture into Barns & Noble.

Tai-chan is just so cute. And in the volume Sue seems to be more tolerant of Tai-chan. His little teary face when Sue was on the bed and his angry face. Adorable. Love this series.

While this is another adorable cat manga, I didn't like it as much as volume one because it felt more episodic and less like there was a plot. (Though it's still very cute, don't get me wrong.) I definitely plan to continue with the series.

A collection of short vignettes in graphic novel/manga style featuring elderly cat Sue showing the visiting kitten Tai-chan how to be a cat (and dealing with his boundless energy).

I think my favorites in this collection are the ones with Tai-chan meeting neighbor cats and Tai-chan trying to find hiding spots for toys. Very cute cat antics that will be just as popular as the author's Chi's Sweet Home in our library I'm sure.

No content issues.

This is going to be one of those series that's difficult to rate simply because it's so consistently quality. The art is cute, the characters are charming, the gags get a smile from me and full on belly laughs from the little one. What more can I say? If you like cute cat comics, you'll enjoy this. If you don't, I don't expect that this will convert you.

Read with Lennox, age 8.
This book is so cute. I think the little stories are pretty original. It's fun to view life through the perspective of a kitten. Having Sue, an old cat, to react against perfectly balances the stories.

Still cute, particularly when we meet some of the neighbor cats, or when Tai-chan tries to be an adult by mimicking Sue. They try to hide toys - or themselves - from their owner, and Tai-chan isn’t always as innocent as he looks. A quick read, but light-hearted and fun.

Just as cute as #1, but maybe with deeper themes, such as learning to grow up. But even the grown ups are sometimes ready to do mischiefs with the younger ones!
In this series, all the cats are so cool, as well as the humans.

This volume was better than the first one! I felt a bit more invested and Sue and Tai-chan felt like they had more distinct personalities. I might pick up more of this series the next time I'm in the library, but it's not a super high priority for me.
