The world building in this novel is beyond amazing. I cannot for the life of me believe that I have been putting this off for so long. In a mix of Dune and Star Wars, we have a complex story built on an imaginative futuristic world. The characters are not simple, everything is not sugary sweet. We see death occur constantly. You think you are starting to like a character? Don't keep your attachments too long, you do not know who would survive this race for the survival of the Eighth Galaxy. War is never going to be nice and Priest isn't trying to frame it in a gilt-frame and hang it for appreciation. Our characters are not goody-two shoes either. Now that I am in the third volume I can say that the story is yet to properly flesh out. The only unfortunate thing is that there are 7 volumes and Goodreads shows only two so I will have to compress my reviews into these two.
What a great way to start the year I have no words really. Imperfections is definitely priest's best ever book according to me Nothing hurts as bad as seeing the most happy and bubbly character turn into a cold hearted calculating man Had me in shambles Its been really long since I cried over a book. The plot, the space battles, the side characters (Elizabeth Turan 😦) , the politics and the drama. I will never heal from this TT Oh and I can't thank the translator enough for giving us a masterpiece
I really can't say anything. this book is flawless masterpiece a true art amazing absolutely beautiful should have gone into the museum deserve all the awards for literature best art best book a masterpiece
