*The final chapter in Cashel and Olivia's story*

Every love story has an ending. This is mine.

Cashel Blackthorne has been my kidnapper, my tormentor, my protecter, and my lover.
Now he’s shattered us beyond repair.

He sacrificed his freedom to give me mine, only to have our bond completely broken. I lost him just when I truly found him. I need to bring him back to me, to save him from the fate he set for himself, and most of all, to find a cure.

Since all this began, I’ve been their prey, but the tables have turned and this time, I’m the hunter. The Blackthorne vampires won’t take anything from me again.

Relationship status: It’s complicated!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: ☺️😉😀😘

The heroine: Olivia Stewart - she was in love with both Cashel and Logan. Though she chose Cashel. She still felt that his family was always put before her in his estimation and due to that she was never safe.

The Hero: Cashel Blackthorne - he strove to overcome the fact that Olivia was with Logan when they were apart. He tried to keep Olivia safe while they were together but failed to do that and everything changed.

The Story: both Cashel and Olivia are nearly killed and they are separated yet again. Both of them being put through different methods of torture and Olivia is forced to do something to survive which will tear them apart on a level they haven’t faced before even when she fell for Logan in Blood Traitor.

Like Blood Captive and Blood Traitor, this book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narration is done by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock. Emma Wilder has a soft feminine voice and she portrays anxiety well with her voice. Aaron Shedlock has a sophisticated sounding voice which matched Cashel perfectly.

I don’t want to go to deeply into the events of this book, but there was a lot going on in this one just like in the last two books. There is cheating in a way, but it’s complicated. The one thing I can say is that it certainly wasn’t dull. I have really enjoyed this entire series.

This review is for the whole Blood Trilogy (Blood Captive, Blood Traitor, Blood Heir) as Audiobook.

I finally started the journey of Kim Loraine´s Blackthorne Vampire series, which was highly recommended to me. One book in and I was hooked, engaged, drawn in and falling for the different characters. I love a good Vampire Romance and did not know I needed this story in my life.

This is the story of Cashel, heir to the Vampire Kingdom and Olivia, a human who has something the Vampire King (Cashel´s father) wants & needs. Olivia has been on the run all her life while being hunted until she fell into the hands of Cashel Blackthorne, who kidnapped her, held her captive but also turned out to be her protector and became her lover.

What a sexy suspenseful and intriguing Vampire Romance. A rollercoaster of emotions with twist and turns. I can only recommend this further if you love Paranormal Romance, this is for you.

The Narration was great. Emma Wilder is one of my favourite audio ladies out there and I just felt every emotion with Olivia. I also LOVE her male voice performances.

This was my first listen of Aaron Shedlock and I am looking forward to listening to more of his work. Love his raspy voice and he portrayed the perfect Cashel.

Another character who I became attached to was Lucas Blackthorne, the Bastard Vampire Prince and so happy he got his own story in Midnight Prince & Midnight Hunger, which follows the Blood Trilogy.

A conclusion well deserved

‘Blood Heir’ is the third and final book to Cashel & Oliver’s Story in The Blackthorne Vampires series written by Kim Loraine / K.Loraine. If you haven’t read the previous books ‘Blood Captive’ and ‘Blood Traitor’, STOP now and go read them. Also it would hurt to go and read the Midnight Coven novella’s ‘Forever Claimed’, ‘Immortal Promise’ and ‘Wicked Thorne’ to meet some of the other characters from the Blackthorn Vampire world.

Holy-Freaking-Moly what a conclusion for Cashel and Oliver, I read this in one sitting it was so addictive and entrancing, I was completely hooked. This series has been so fantastic from the very beginning and I am now sad that it is finished, I want no NEED more, I’m not ready for it to be over. Once again Kim has given us a book filled with drama, suspense, heartache, betrayal, love, secrets, death and blood. I am utterly speechless when it comes to this book, I don’t know what to write that can do it justice.

I am so glad there is a HEA for this book. After all the trouble, heartache, misery and separation the main characters have had to endure. That a HEA is the least that they deserve, I really hope to see more for them in the future to see how life is treating them.

Another excellent job Kim and can’t wait to see what you have next in store for us with Lucas.

Blood Heir is the third and final book of Cashel and Olivia's story, and what an ending it is! After all the twists, turns, secrets, lies, drama, and suspense, I'm off this emotional roller coaster and ready to hop on to the next one! That doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy this trilogy (I did, very much!), what I meant to say was that this was such an emotional roller coaster and I'm glad it ended with a HEA- for Cashel and Olivia, at least.

Lucas played a big part in this book, and I sympathized with him in the end. Now I can't wait to see what happens after Midnight Prince!

Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder continued to deliver an amazing performance, making this audiobook a joy to listen to.

Blood Heir is a contemporary paranormal romance written in dual first-person POV and performed in dual narration. It's the last book in a trilogy. No cliffhanger.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

I’m probably wrong but I didn’t think Olivia received the blood curse until after her mother died and it was passed on. If I’m right I wouldn't think that any child of Olivia's will be born with this blood’s capabilities. Is Anne thinking that a bunch of offspring will inherit when Olivia dies? Someone suggests those with the blood allowing vampires to be in the sunshine limited themselves to one child. Why have any at all and just put an end to the curse?

Olivia is back at Blackthorne Manor where Lucas bonds with her to prevent other vampires from ravaging her. It had been determined that Cashel was her fated mate but he is presumed dead after being stricken with sun sickness. Even though Olivia no longer can convey the resistance to sun through her blood, Anne insists that she and Lucas have children to continue on “her” Blackthorne legacy. Oh yeah, she also wants Lucas to turn Olivia so that the offspring will be pure vampire. Lucas is half human so I’m not quite sure how that will work.

Olivia and Lucas are married before Cashel escapes his prison and returns to Blackthorne Manor. He hides out in the king’s rooms where he and Olivia meet in secret.

What a mess. This just keeps getting more convoluted and twisted. I love it although I don’t think I grasped how Cashel is cured of the sun sickness. The bond breaking method is clear and I feel sorry for Lucas. His story continues in the next book.

Blood Heir
The Blackthorne Vampires, Book 3
By: K. Loraine
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Emma Wilder

I couldn't wait for the final chapter of Olivia and Cashel's story, and now that it's over I am a little sad! I love these characters and I need more! But in true K. Loraine style, she had me going through a roller coaster of emotions and had my heart completely invested in the outcome of this story! Olivia goes through so much to get to her love. My heart was aching as she dealt with Lucas, Logan and Cashel. She is one strong woman, and determined to follow her heart! The twists and turns in this one had my heart shattering and slowly rebuilding. Loraine's masterful weaving of the story line had me wondering where she was going to take us, and she did not disappoint. Suspense, despair, fear, passion, love, happiness, she wove all the emotions in and let us follow these two to their well deserved happily ever after.

Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder finish the trilogy with a powerful performance. This book had so many emotions and so many twists that these talented performers gave their all. Each nuance and inflection led the characters through their turmoil and let us feel the pain, stress, and love. Shedlock is cast perfectly as Cashel, with the strong attitude, and incredible love. Wilder made Olivia so strong, no matter the situation, her feelings were evident and we knew she was going to pull it through. These two compliment each other well and gave us an amazing listen.

This is the third book in the Blackthorne Vampires Series, and the final chapter of Cashel and Olivia's story. This is an amazing paranormal trilogy. You have to listen to this Series in order, otherwise you will miss some important parts. The story continues where the second book left off. The story is well written, complex, fast-paced, and suspenseful. Cashel and Olivia are two soul mates, and they are fantastic together. They share a sizzling chemistry, and a forever and unbreakable love. The storyline is well developed, and filled with mystery, danger and twists and turns. I loved it. I need more of Cashel and Olivia! The narration is outstanding! Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder are both on my list of favorite narrators. Having them reading me this amazing Series is wonderful! This Series is addictive, and captivating, and I will definitely listen to this trilogy again. I HIGHLY recommend it. Looking forward to listen to the next chapter in the amazing Blackthorne Vampires World, Midnight Prince, Lucas's story.

4 stars for Blood Heir by Kim Loraine. This is book three in the Blackthorne Vampire series. This is also the last book of Cashel and Olivia’s story. Wow I did not see the things that happened in this book coming. After the cliffhanger in book two I was not sure what was going to happen next. I was asking myself all kinds of questions, Was Cashel Alive, What would happen to Olivia, what would Anne do next, these were all questions I wanted answers too. Cashel and Olivia were soulmates but what happens if someone , we least expect comes between them. I feel like if I say too much I will ruin it and the suspense is what made the story as great as it was. I will say that I am looking forward to reading more of this series.

Olivia and Cashel finally get their chance at being together completely but not before they have way more obstacles to overcome. The second book left me gasping not knowing what was going to happen and the whole time reading this, I was on edge. Theirs is a timeless love and connection that nothing could break, not even being married to someone else. It’s filled with angst, passion, suspense, mystery, and more secrets than I know what to do with. But I was left smiling at the end and with anticipation for Lucas’ story.

I also love that we see Silas BlackthornE and Natalie good from Wicked Thorne and they get in on the action.

I would like to know what happens with Scorcha too.

* KU read

OMG, it is the end of Olivia's and Cashel's story... This journey has been horrific, sexy, twisted, and freaky all the way around. The story we have read is everything you could want in a series and when you have vampires in it. Olivia is in a predicament right now and only one person seems to be able to help her until Cashel can show back up.

Even though this is the last book do not expect a sweet ending right away. This book will be just as twisted as all the others. Olivia and Cashel will have to fight for their love if it is meant to be.

Finally a conclusion to the journey with Cashel and his Olivia. It was hard fought and things go all over the place but glad how things turned out. This has betrayal, love and sacrifice. I love all of Kim's books and how you see other characters within all of her books. Well done. Aaron and Emma do an amazing job as always. Confession: definitely going back re-listening to other about the characters mentioned.

Audiobook Review

What and ending!!

Performance: These two have done an excellent job with this trilogy.

Story: This is the conclusion of Olivia and Cashel’s trilogy and it was excellent. I have already read Mate Game so I knew that they both survived but no idea how they got there. I am so glad I listened to the prequel before starting the series because it made Silas and Natalie showing up make way more sense. Logan’s story is next and I am jumping straight in.

Well, that ended better than I thought it would. Their relationship was hella toxic, but somehow, K Loraine brought it back and fixed it. I've read these series' out of order, so I've already read The Mating Games: War, and I can't believe my sweet Noah is Cashel's son. Oh well, I am looking forward to Lucas' story!

Final book in the trilogy.
Cashel makes a plan to get Olivia back. Olivia starts seeing Cashel behind Lucas' back

Olivia discovers Hector in the dungeon. He tells her the secret of his identity.

Lucas sacrifices himself for his brothers happiness.

The trilogy was good. I did feel like something was missing. Although, book 1 & 2 were cliffhangers the final book had a HEA.

ok so I really wish it'd been done as a duet but still a great installment of the Blackthorne legacy. these are more slow burn then the current series the mate games but it's all tied together. it's not necessary to read either first but this would technically be the beginning

Series getting better with each book!

Enjoyable read, character development better than first 2x books. Storyline has more substance and sex scenes don't seem to be just fillers anymore. Looking forward to reading next one 'Midnight Prince'

What an intense why to end Cashel and Olivia's story. The emotions and stake were very high in this one. Everyone has something to lose if not everything to lose. The love, the hate, the losses, and the betrayals are so much more. I could had read this in one setting if I didn't have to work.

Blood Heir

I am so glad to have read Cashel and Olivia's story. It was hard won but they finally achieved their HEA. They both went through a lot in this book. It was a tough read but worth it in the end.

So, did I love this series? Yes. Am I already reading Lucas’ story? Also yes. But the constant indecision and back and forth between Cashel and Olivia drove me a bit mad. However, I loved the story and characters, but miscommunication and indecision in MCs is one of my most hated tropes.

This was so emotional and heartbreaking. The pain & agony that Cashel is experiencing is just so much.
Can he stay alive, fight Anna & the hunters? Can he be with Olivia? Or will it all come crashing down around him in a blaze of glory?
