In 2015 Benji had the picket-fence cottage in the quiet suburban street, a promising career and a loving wife. Three months later it was all gone. What do you do when the world crumbles around you? Where do you go when you have nothing to lose?Benji tells his story with brutal honesty, describing some of the wildest parts of Australia with a passionate attention to detail. Jump on and hold tight for the ride of a lifetime as he takes you from his rock bottom to the highs of setting a new Guinness World The fastest man across 10 Australian deserts...
Benji's story takes you across wild geographical and emotional territory - long before Ewan McGregor and his electric motorcycle adventures ;>). Benji tells a marvellous story of loss, hope, resilience and redemption. I know he's been called upon numerous times for talks in schools and is a warm and compassionate speaker. You'll be locked in to his desert riding odyssey from the get go. It's an amazing and very human tale of acutely lived experience. A must read, and an extra dimension to the story on audio :>)
Well, it’s not a book about motorcycles. After reading king of the desert I thought I’d try this one out. Two very different books…
Benji has had a hard life and tells a good story of facing personal challenges, he certainly pushes himself. It was well written but some closure at the end would have been nice. What happens 6 months after he finishes the trip?
