"…Two seconds later, we’re all running toward the elevator; the kids to fight over the button and the parents to break it up. Inside my mind I reminded myself, “And this is why we never go anywhere!” I got there just as Levi pressed the sacred circle with the down arrow that magically turns yellow, undoubtedly releasing a fair amount of dopamine inside the pleasure center of his brain…"

A wonderful book. I thought of how many times I have said to my family, "We are making memories". I am 82 years old and was blessed with two children. One was born mentally handicapped and died at age 9 years. I was blessed with two grandchildren and now have two greats and another due in April. My great grandchildren have sleepovers a lot with me. I try to make memories of our visits for them to have when I gone. This book should help its readers stop and think what is important in our lives. Thank you David and Amanda for sharing.
An interesting tale about a army chaplain his wife and three children and their trials and tribulations, and how they have weathered their relationships. It is at time funny and poignant. A nice little story.
I enjoyed this book. The writing was a bit simplistic, but the stories (non-fiction) were well-crafted. Basically, he is telling us that everyone goes through some s**t in their life - some minor, some major, and you can usually get through it. All examples are from his own life.
