Burt Emerson was stubborn, rude, and ungrateful, but he didn't deserve to die for it. Much, anyway.
Burt Emerson was one of the most contrary people the gods ever stretched hide over. He had it all - a great wife, a nice house, a corner office in a building he owned - but he took it all for granted. And then he turned up dead amid some bizarre circumstances. He'd reported his wife missing while she was standing right beside him, and claimed his grandfather's watch had been stolen even though it was right there on his wrist. His partner said he wandered around the parking lot of their office building but never came inside.
That's a little nuts even by our standards, so I decide to take a closer look. Why me? Because through an impressively confounded set of circumstances, I set a trunkful of cursed objects loose on the unwitting non-magicals in our town. Now I have to figure out which of the pieces in his collection killed him before somebody else dies and his wife goes to prison.
I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

Extraordinary fun and entertaining Paranormal cozy mystery series
Extraordinarily fun spirited and entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters with an entertaining storyline. A family of witches that rent an art gallery in a coastal town in Florida. A mother father several brothers and he said the twins a boy and a girl. The main character is the female but the entire family is all interwoven into the story and involved throughout. Along with her best friend since childhood another character who happens to be a young man that is also into the world of art history and antiques. Everyone in the family has a specialty and has gone to college to learn specific parts of history to help them in the antique and art world. Including her best friend. Her and her best friend happen to go out and dive looking for Seaglass and other minor treasures and on occasion sunken treasure. Until one day they find a treasure chest full of odd items. The entire family also happens to while they’re searching antiques and ancient art find cursed objects and remove the curses so that humans as well as Paranormal‘s do not get hurt by them. Unfortunately this entire chest is full of cursed items and something happens to it once they get it back to the store and you will have to read book one to begin the journey and find out what happens. It is entertaining a bit fun at times a bit dark at times but will keep your reading from beginning to end. Check it out
Sage and Eli are involved in another mysterious death when the Sheriff calls and wants their help on a case he is working on. A man reported that his wife was missing and she was standing right beside him at the time and her reported other things missing but they were there? Sounds like a curse struck again but what is the object and how do they fix things. Of course Luther pops into the picture and wants to help. I like that we get a little background on him in this book. It was a great read. My only complaint was that it was too short for me. I would have love the book to go another ten chapters or so but that is just because I love this series and get so involved when reading. nothing else around me exists. I hope it won't be long before the next book comes out because I love to find out how all the missing objects have a curse attached to them, but they are all different. This is another of Tegan Mahers series that I can't put down.
I've been waiting for the third book in this series ever since I finished the second, but of course, I was in the middle of another book when Tegan announced its release. I finally finished that one late last night and immediately downloaded this one.
So tempting to just dig into the story, but since I knew I had an early morning ahead of me, I read only the first chapter before going to sleep…it was just enough to pull me back into Marauder's Bay and Sage's world.
Delightful as always ….the characters and their relationships keep developing, and the story line is just spicy enough for me. Many thanks to Tegan for drawing me into her magical worlds. (Yes, plural worlds…I love all her other series, too!)
A true cozy mystery….looking forward to the next already! ❤️
I needed a quick, cute read and this fit the bill perfectly. The friendship between Eli and Sage is so refreshing. I love how they have each other’s backs and seems to anticipate each others moods. This time Eli, Sage, Luther, and James are trying to track down an artifact that curses a man to lose sight of all things he holds dear, resulting in his death. While trying to track down the artifact they also to sort through some personal feelings. Jake does not make as much of an appearance in this book and I missed him a little bit. But Axel the skunk made up for it; he’s the best.
Another fun read to curl up under the blanket with and finish in a day.
The Cursed Lantern is Book 3 in the Paranormal Artifacts Series by Tegan Maher. I couldn't put this book down, it was so good. I love Sage and her gang and I REALLY love Luther. It was fun to learn more about him in this story. There is a death and it is linked to one of the cursed artifacts and Sage and company are on the case along with her ex James who is the sheriff.
I loved the story and how the characters are developing and the interaction between them.
I swear I am right on the beach with the author's descriptions of the sea!
The adventure and intrigue continue with the search for the third cursed artifact from the trunk that Sage and Eli brought up from the bottom of the ocean. Each story revolves around a different artifact which makes it so interesting and unlike the book before it, with just the characters being the linking factor between books. There is just something about this writer's style that I just love - she is so descriptive and has such an imagination that you just know each story will be a great read. This one was a really good addition to the series that I am continuing to enjoy reading.
Sage, Eli and Luther get a call from James, man died when he couldn't find things. He couldn't find his watch which was on the nightstand then he couldn't see his wife standing next to him then the fountain he built for her. He ran to fountain site and tripped on wall, fell into fountain hitting his head and died. They have to figure out what the cursed item is and where is it. They now have the help of Charity who is a Romy witch. This is a good series waiting for book 4.
A cursed lantern that makes the person lose sight of what they value most: literally. It has already killed a prominent business man. Will Sage and company find the deadly lantern before it can hurt someone else? Good question: buy the book and find out.
Oh and fair warning: more of Luther’s past is revealed. Crank up your central air folks: it’s gonna get hot!
So many words are missing throughout that I almost stopped reading. Not just missing either as words appear to have been left in when the structure of a sentence was altered, leaving something nonsensical behind. I love this series as it has a fantastic storyline but this one appears rough and jerky. Despite this I have the release date of the next book in my diary.
I like the concept of this series but I feel like it's really rushed and they just end abruptly. The last chapter for this book really was like a a 180 from the end of the previous chapter. that's ok its just what made for the sudden change. maybe others won't agree. I like Tegan Mayer's other books but this series only gets a B+.
I've fallen into a company of cozy paranormal mystery writers, and I enjoy all of the offerings. The characters are interesting, the plots are imaginative, and the settings are, well, cozy. No one will break their brain over these stories, but that's OK -- there are lots of more demanding things to do, and not everything has to be hard. Enjoyable and not unwholesome.
It's fun to watch the characters as they deal with, not only magical issues, but also everyday issues. The twin sisters need to give it up, but don't. I'm enjoying the growing feelings between Sage and Luther too.
This series is fun and interesting and this latest installment is no exception. If you enjoy an interesting plot, with characters full of depth, magic, and antiques all wrapped up in a great setting then you will enjoy this series.
Definitely a great read and the characters are very good. The author has a pretty darn good storyline that keeps the read waiting anxiously for the next in the series.
Only a 100 pages, a number of typos and name mix ups and a bit formulaic. The author has so many books coming that I think she's too busy churning out the product and is sacrificing quality. It's ok not to release 3 books per month and make them normal length instead of short novellas.
Tegan has done it again. Another fun series. Such a good read and my favourite part of the whole thing is her ability to create well rounded characters that you look forward to seeing in the next book
Love this series, fun, interesting and fantastic characters. I am enjoying the ongoing mystery of the "curses" and I am dying to know more about Luther. Looking forward to the next in the series
I'm enjoying the series and the characters are interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book. There were a couple editing issues but it didn't detract. Cozy mystery so no graphic violence, language or sex.
This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
This is the 3rd book in the Paranormal Artifacts series and the adventure continues with the search for the third cursed artifact from the trunk that Sage and Eli brought up from the bottom of the ocean. Each story revolves around a different artifact that causes different reactions in the person who is unfortunate enough to have that artifact. The search for which artifact the person owned and why they suffered the consequences of that artifact is intriguing and entertaining, as are the entire group of friends that work together to reacquire the cursed artifacts.
